Overall, we are very pleased with mum's care. The care staff are all lovely and mum is very fond of them. We are aware that measures are in place to improve the experience for visitors too! The car park being lined has made a massive difference. Also, the re-arranging of the bistro area, with another
table added, and a seperate cake and juice station. One area that needs addressing is the huge trees which border the houses. Mum's room is noticably gloomier with daylight being overshaowed by their size and overhang!!
Reply from Sammy Buckley, customer service manager at Droitwich Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear your mum is happy and fond of our care team, and we'll be sure to pass on your kind words.
We're glad the recent improvements to the car park and bistro area have made a positive difference for visitors. Thank you also for raising the issue of the trees and natural light, this has been noted and will be reviewed.
We really appreciate your feedback and support.

My mother entered Droitwich Mews over 2 years ago having been widowed after 60+ years of marriage, needing company and care. It took a leap of faith to give up a home after 40 years and we were understandably a little nervous about such a major transition. We were welcomed so very warmly, helped
with getting mum settled. Immediately the worry around medication, food, cleaning, laundry and general socialisation was lifted. Droitwich Mews was built around 5 years ago and offers all the modern convenience you would expect but also offers a warmth and friendliness as you enter that is so very important when considering options for an elderly parent. The home has engaged a team of wonderful staff from carers to reception, housekeeping, laundry, well-being and maintenance staff. They have become like family, being there for all of us when mum isn't too well and we have huge confidence in their capacity to care for her. A top notch team who deserve our thanks.
Reply from Sammy Buckley, customer service manager at Droitwich Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for your truly kind and heartfelt review. We are incredibly grateful for the trust you placed in us during such an important transition for your mother and your family.
It means a great deal to know that our team has been able to support your mother with warmth, care, and companionship, and to give you peace of mind. Your generous words will be shared with all our staff, who will be very touched by your appreciation.
Thank you again for your trust and for taking the time to share your experience, it is a genuine privilege to care for your mother.

Mum has been at Droitwich Mews for a year at the end of January and has been very happy and well cared during this time.
The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished and are kept to a high standard.
There is a lovely variety of food on offer for residents and always alternatives if there's something
you don't fancy.
On mum's birthday we had an afternoon tea with the family in one of the communal rooms and the kitchen made a fabulous birthday cake, and they put decorations up for her.
They also made her wish to be a police officer for a day come true too, with the help of the local station, taking her on a tour and out in a patrol car!
There's always activities going on and music playing and the residents get taken out to local garden centres etc for coffee.
The staff are always friendly, helpful and accessible and the place has a genuinely happy vibe and lovely feel about it.
As a family, we are very pleased to have found such a great home for mum with her needs now.
Reply from Sammy Buckley, customer service manager at Droitwich Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for this wonderful and heartfelt review.
We're delighted to hear that your mum has been so happy and well cared for during her year at Droitwich Mews.
It's especially lovely to hear about how your mum's birthday was celebrated. Being able to share afternoon tea with family, enjoy a special cake, and decorate the space is exactly the kind of meaningful moment we love to create. Making her wish to be a police officer for the day come true was a truly memorable experience, we're so pleased we could work with the local station to help make that happen.
We're also glad your mum enjoys the activities, music, and outings! Thank you for your kind words about our team; they will be thrilled to know their friendliness and dedication have made such a positive difference. As a family, your trust and happiness mean everything to us. Thank you again for choosing Droitwich Mews and for sharing your experience so generously.

Mum has been at Droitwich Mews care home now for over 2 years. In that time she has received a very high level of care. Every worry or query I have had has been dealt with compassion and action. Mum is very happy and really feels safe and secure and always keen to return after a trip out! She loves
the activities and events that they run and feels very involved. She also loves the food, probably a little too much!! I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a caring and safe place for their loved one.

Found this care home after a recommendation of another user of the home. Father has been in 6 weeks or so, so early days. Care by staff and home has been great so far. The decor of the home is very nice and the facilities are excellent.
NB have given rating of 5 for food, but frankly I do not know
as I have not eaten there.

My Dad is in this home, in the secure Dementia floor. He's been made very comfortable and is well looked after. The home puts on a wide range of activities and has very caring staff. There's actually a piano on the floor which is great as, whilst Dad has lost a lot of memory capacity, he can still
play music. Thank you to all the staff involved.

This is a really special place to be, residents are well cared for and much is done to make their everyday living a comfortable, caring and fun experience. As a family Father's Day was a lovely treat. Sandwiches, scones, prosecco, coffee and cold drinks laid out invitingly, it was enjoyed by all. Residents
can be difficult and caring for them is challenging. I cannot praise and thank the staff enough for doing a wonderful job.

  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Droitwich Mews Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Customer Service Advisor Joined: 2021

I began my journey by first caring for my parents, particularly my mother, at the end of my life. The nurse who visited said I was made for the job! I then started cleaning for a few old ladies, which morphed into shopping & personal care and companionship. I tried domiciliary care, but never felt I had enough time to do a good job. COVID came along, and my career path changed! I became a Community Champion for a well-known supermarket. It was because of this that I heard about Droitwich Mews. I offered to support the home with raffle prizes, etc. The Customer Service manager at the time asked if I would like to join the team! I started at Droitwich Mews on the care team, and then I was offered the position of customer service assistant. I am happy to say I love it! I get to support residents and chat with them and their relatives. It’s a lovely home, and I am proud to be a part of it.
