Droitwich Mews is an excellent care home for Pop, more than we could have imagined or hoped for. Pop absolutely loves it there, which is a huge comfort to us as a family. Pop calls it his new home, which is extremely comforting to me and my family. Knowing he is content, safe and cared for means the
world! Initially Pop was staying for respite care following hospital discharge, but now, so content he has decided to reside there, live out his life there, a huge surprise as we never thought he would leave his precious family home. The staff are understanding, informative, and considerate to us as a family, very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend Droitwich Mews.

My parents moved into Droitwich Mews several weeks ago and have been gently settled in by caring and friendly staff. Mum and Dad are comfortable, warm and very well fed! The staff are always ready to respond to any concerns the family might have with a positive and helpful attitude. They are willing
to "go the extra mile" for both my parents!

The staff have been and are constantly excellent - doing everything they can to help my parents settle in and be comfortable. The facilities are fantastic, and the catering is amazing - both of my parents say the meals are delicious.

It was an excellent experience. Excellent facilities. Food and staff were excellent. I could only stay for respite care because of the price. Good staff communication with me who is visually impaired. Information in Braille - everything - activities, menu, timetables would be helpful.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The care that was given to my father was exemplary. The whole team worked well together and communication was of the highest order. The administration was slick and responsive. The area of the care home is on a well-used road with lots to see and the gardens and environs of the home are very good. There
were activities organised on a regular basis and well selected for the ability of each of the residents. The food had very good reviews from my father who could be a bit fussy about his food at times. My father was a very independent person and felt a high level of pride at being so, the staff were fantastic at allowing him to be as independent as he was able to be but ensuring he was well looked after. My father fell ill and during this time, he got fed up and said he wanted "To go home". When asked what he meant he said back to Droitwich Mews! I can think of no higher recommendation.

Since moving to Droitwich Mews back in October 2020 I have seen Mum and Dad get steadily happier and healthier. Through unprecedented and difficult times the staff haven't stinted in their efforts to make every day stimulating and interesting. They focus on understanding my parents' - their backgrounds,
their needs and preferences and go all out to meet those needs. From the fabulous food, to lifetime favourite movies in the cinema room or tracking down the perfect chiropodist, nothing is too much trouble. With nicer weather my Dad is getting ready for gardening and the team are helping him stock the potting shed! Covid has been a preoccupation and transmission control rules have been fastidiously implemented, putting residents safety absolutely at the top of their priorities. Their rules have gone beyond the minimum and we have been confident that Mum and Dad have been protected. When normal visiting hasn't been possible then full use has been made of virtual meeting facilities.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.858 for Droitwich Mews Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (328 Excellents x 5) + (48 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 379 Ratings = 4.858
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Droitwich Mews Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I began my journey in the care sector within domiciliary care, where I quickly progressed to a senior role. Job Title: Customer Service Advisor Joined: 2021

I began my journey by first caring for my parents, particularly my mother at the end of my life. The nurse who visited said I was made for the job! I then started cleaning for a few old ladies, which morphed into shopping & personal care and companionship. I tried domiciliary care, but never felt I had enough time to do a good job. Covid came along, and my career path changed! I became a Community Champion for a well-known supermarket. It was because of this I heard about Droitwich Mews. I offered to support the home with raffle prizes etc. The Customer Service manager at the time asked if I would like to join the team! I started at Droitwich Mews on the care team, and then I was offered the position of customer service assistant, and I am happy to say I love it! I get to support residents and chat with them and their relatives. It’s a lovely home and I am proud to be a part of it.
