View Full Details of Droitwich Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareDad sadly passed away after 4 or 5 days of illness. The level of care for dad and me has been amazing at this tough time, but has always been so for dad throughout his 9 month residency, even though he could take up a lot of time. I have nothing but good things to say about all the staff. Thank you...
Always a warm welcome on entering the home, Staff are very friendly, polite and professional. Nothing is a problem to the careers or staff members. The residents are well looked after, well fed and residents are kept clean along with their rooms. There is all sorts of entertainment for each and every individual.
Found this care home after a recommendation of another user of the home. Father has been in 6 weeks or so, so early days. Care by staff and home has been great so far. The decor of the home is very nice and the facilities are excellent. NB have given rating of 5 for food, but frankly I do not know as I have not eaten there.
We as a family have been so impressed with The Mews. My grandpa has severe dementia, and is often confused, but we can see he is happy here. All of the staff are lovely, and always greet him by name and with a smile. There are always activities and we love seeing pictures of him enjoying himself on the social media page. He has further health conditions too which The Mews keep on top of, and we are kept well updated.
My Dad is in this home, in the secure Dementia floor. He's been made very comfortable and is well looked after. The home puts on a wide range of activities and has very caring staff. There's actually a piano on the floor which is great as, whilst Dad has lost a lot of memory capacity, he can still play music. Thank you to all the staff involved.
This is a really special place to be, residents are well cared for and much is done to make their everyday living a comfortable, caring and fun experience. As a family Father's Day was a lovely treat. Sandwiches, scones, prosecco, coffee and cold drinks laid out invitingly, it was enjoyed by all. Residents can be difficult and caring for them is challenging. I cannot praise and thank the staff enough for doing a wonderful job.
Excellent over and above care and attention to my Mother, her individual needs, her idiosyncrasies and her requests during her room move within the home. The room is more suitable to Mom's long term care and the home were all too keen to readily suggest, help and make the whole process enjoyable and seamless rather than daunting to a ninety one year old. It would be wrong for me to single out praise but I would just to thank all of the staff at the home for the care and qualities they display in putting an arm of comfort around Mom and their continued efforts to always go one better . Thank you all.
Very friendly, caring staff. Always putting the welfare of residents first.
Whenever I visit my mother the atmosphere at Droitwich Mews is always cheery and upbeat. The staff always greet me warmly and it's touching to see how they care for the residents. My mother is very happy there and is able to put forward her ideas for trips and activities. She was recently taken on a trip to a museum and the member of staff supporting the outing went out of her way to take detours that enabled my mother to visit her childhood home and the church she was married in. This was such a thoughtful thing to do and meant so much to my Mum.
Mum entered Droitwich Mews for a week's respite in 2023. She had struggled with her mobility for some time but, after losing her husband of 60+ years, needed more company and support. After a week's respite, mum quickly made the decision to move in permanently and this has transformed her day to day life in a way we as her family hadn't dared hope for. She is genuinely nurtured, listened to and treasured by the wonderful staff. The home has excellent facilities as you would expect of a newly built 21st century care home, with a minibus so that residents can get out and about accompanied by the lovely well-being staff. The chef goes out of his way to meet individual requests, and provides wonderful gala buffets. Getting old isn't an easy journey but this home goes over and above in its care for its residents, all of whom are treated with compassion and respect. Well done to all staff at every level, and thank you so much for the love and support you give mum each and every day.
After a great deal of persuasion my Father eventually agreed to 4 weeks of respite care at Droitwich Mews. After only 2 weeks he had made the decision that he wanted to stay on a permanent basis. Must be good! He had been living in a sad, lonely black cloud since my Mother died 20 years ago. I can honestly say that he is a changed man and I have got my old Dad back again. He has a smile on his face and is enjoying life again. The staff are all wonderful and are doing an amazing job. It's just like one big happy family and it's a pleasure to visit. I know he is safe and well cared for, which is a huge relief for me. Well done Droitwich Mews.
The Chef and his team provided an afternoon tea in memory of our relative on Tuesday 21st January 2025. All the residents an Salwarpe joined in. The food, setting and ambience was excellent. There were a few emotional moments. My family felt humbled by the care provided for my family member and especially for this celebration. The Chef provided fabulous afternoon tea. Croissants oozing warm brie and cranberries were a favourite. Please add to the residents menu. Thank you to your team.
Our dear friend who was a resident at the Mews for 2 years was looked after with love and compassion by the team. Her life was beautifully celebrated at an afternoon tea party on Tuesday 21st January. All the team went above and beyond to make it a very special occasion. The food was fabulous, prepared by the Chef and his team. It was enjoyed by all the residents, friends and relatives on Salwarpe. Many thanks to all the team at The Mews
The staff are always very welcoming and smiling. Gentle and caring with residents. Home gives the impression of good management.
I contacted Droitwich Mews needing urgent respite care when my elderly mum became unwell and couldn't look after my dad. From the first contact with reception to the care staff that visited the house to access him everyone was kind and professional. They put us all at ease at a really difficult time. Dad stayed over Christmas, the staff made it special for all the residents. They welcomed my mum and the rest of the family when they were working and not with their own loved ones. The home is spotless, beautifully decorated but it's the staff that make it shine.
Mum recently celebrated her birthday. We visited her in the afternoon and were made so welcome. We settled in the lounge and we were served hot drinks and a beautiful birthday cake was brought out to mum. Her great grandchildren were also given drinks and played with the selection of board games available in the lounge. Since moving in six months ago mum has settled really well and is the happiest I've seen her in ages. There is an excellent programme of activities and exercise classes which mum enjoys participating in. The staff are all friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Moving into Droitwich is the best thing mum could have done.
Things have improved a lot over the last few months. Our relative became a resident at Droitwich Mews in July 2023. Initially, things were very good but then following changes in staff, lack of activities the standard of care deteriorated and it was noticeable in our relatives' behaviour. Over the last few months, things have improved noticeably and there is a happier buzz around the home.
Mum moved into the Mews 18 months ago. I am absolutely delighted with the care and support she has received. In fact I have recommended the Mews on at least 2 occasions. It's not easy visiting mum with dementia but I always walk out with a smile on my face and warmth in my heart knowing that she is in the best place possible.
Absolutely fabulous care home with supportive, friendly and caring staff, not just for the relatives staying here but for the families too. I can't think of anywhere else I would like my stepdad to be it is such a wonderful place.
Droitwich Mews has a wonderful happy atmosphere the moment you enter the front door. Staff are so welcoming, helpful and caring to both residents and family. Nothing is too much trouble.
