They have provided first rate care, with each member of staff showing kindness, encouragement and thoughtful actions. The housekeeping is excellent too, with rooms kept tidy and clean and clothes washing done regularly. Carers are always willing to give the family updates and reassurance. My Mother was having a bad day and was feeling unwell. The carers at Avonmere were incredibly helpful and helped her not just physically by checking her blood pressure and general well-being but also mentally. By the time I left, my Mother was much improved and more like her normal self. The staff become not just carers/tea trolley staff/laundry staff, etc. but friends who always give a cheery and friendly greeting on arrival and always give any updates - good or bad - about my Mother. They are also very helpful when her mobile phone rings and she does not always hear it! The range of daily activities is also excellent and helps with mind, body and soul - so very important for (really) elderly people.

Moving a parent into full-time care is one of the hardest decisions a family can make and a decision I can honestly say I had not been prepared for or considered I would ever have to make. My Mum has now been a resident at Avonmere for 10 months and no words can express the gratitude I have for the entire staff who from day one have treated her with dignity, care, compassion and the love. From the moment mum was welcomed into Avonmere the care has been nothing short of amazing. The staff don't just look after her physical needs; they genuinely care for her emotional well-being and treat her with so much dignity and warmth. A special thankyou must go to Samantha who has personally helped us navigate the entire process. Her leadership, compassion, and support during a very stressful time has meant the world. She and her wonderful team have created a truly remarkable environment within the care home setting that feels safe, welcoming, and like a true home. I am incredibly grateful.

My mum has been living in Avonmere for the past 3 years up until November last year my father was there also. She is very happy and enjoys all the activities especially seeing the variety of animals that come in from dogs and ponies to chick's and snakes! She lives on the memory floor and is so well looked after by the staff. They are all so friendly and helpful and love having her there. Her quality of life is exemporely for a lady of 91!
