very warm, friendly, clean, good energies, all the staff we saw were pleasant.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We're delighted to hear that you found our home warm, friendly, and welcoming, and that our staff made a positive impression. Providing a safe, clean, and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected is at the heart of what we do, so your feedback means a great deal to us. Thank you
My 89 year old mother, has just moved into Avonmere from an extra care facility and the difference is uncomparable. She was rapidly deteriorating at her previous place due to food and care quality. She's almost like a different person and has only been at Avonmere a week. The care staff are all absolutely wonderful, nothing is a problem, they are bright, cheery and everyone came too mum's room and introduced themselves, which shows how kind and caring they are. The food is absolutely superb and the 5 star chef really pulls out all the stops. There is so much going on there It's a joy to visit. It's lovely sitting in the well manicured gardens on a sunny day. Let's not forget the manager and her excellent admin staff, everyone plays an important part at Avonmere. Mum is a different person now and feels very safe and secure and this is all due to everyone at Avonmere.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We're truly delighted to hear that your mother has settled in so well at Avonmere and that you've already seen such a positive transformation in her. It means the world to us to know that she feels safe, secure, and cared for-it's exactly what we strive...
My husband has Parkinsons disease with dementia and in November 2024 he was admitted to Avonmere care home because of my own health issues. The care he has received at Avonmere has been amazing. The care staff are really fun, friendly, patient & caring & he loves to chat with them. In fact, all the staff we've seen on site are welcoming and helpful. The building itself is very light & clean and aesthetically pleasing with a library, games room, several comfortable lounges and an immaculate private dining room in addition to the two main ones. The food is very good, especially the home made cakes! There is always something going on at Avonmere to entertain or involve the residents in activities. There is a games room, library, cinema. salon & several comfortable lounges to use too. My husband will be coming home soon, but we will really miss everyone.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're truly touched by your words and are so pleased to hear that your husband has felt happy, engaged, and well cared for during his time at Avonmere. It's our privilege to support both residents and their families, and we're glad our team...
Everyone goes the extra mile to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents are kept to the highest standards possible.
My father has been a resident since October 2024 and has been very well looked after and is safe and happy.
I can't speak highly enough of the exceptional management and staff.
Five stars and highly recommended. Well done everyone.and thankyou all for your efforts.

The food is great and whilst Dad is picky, this is not a problem as the catering team is very flexible. Overall both my Dad and our family are really happy with the level of care and we look forward to spending more time with him as it's such nice place to visit

All the family loved visiting him, as all the staff made all welcome.
Nothing was too much trouble and you felt at ease asking the staff for anything.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are happy that Dad settled well while he was a loved resident with us, transitioning can be so difficult. We are fortunate at Avonmere, our staff are committed to their roles and care about the wellbeing of our residents and their loved ones. We wish you all the best for the future.
My mother-in-law has been a resident here for over six years, probably currently the longest-standing resident. She has lived there through Covid and many management changes, but throughout this, we have had no cause to fault her care. She has, in the past, benefited greatly from the activities and although her involvement in these has declined greatly over the last year or so, she still benefits from the social aspects of residing here.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review of the care home. These reviews make a difference and are always shared with the team so that they can see how appreciated they are! We are so grateful for your kind words.
My grandmother has been in Avonmere for nearly 2 years. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The facilities and food are excellent. Avonmere has always been professional. My grandmother enjoys the home and feels safe there, and they always seem to have a range of interesting activities for the residents. Highly recommend.
Hi Adele, thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave all the team at Avonmere a review. I have shared your comments with the team that strives to improve the lives of others. We look forward to seeing you again!
Also, housekeeping is not always up to a high standard and requests have to be made for bin emptying and floor vacuuming.
Hi John, thank you for leaving us a review, I am glad that you felt the care and support that was delivered at Avonmere was four out of five. I apologise for your experience with the cleanliness of the home, we have recently recruited a full team of housekeeping and are working hard to ensure that...
We found everything superb - care, nurses, staff, accommodation, food, cleanliness, location, comfort and kindness, and security.
What a lovely place it's like home sweet home. The staff are amazing and show great respect to everyone, please keep up the lovely work you do and a big thank you to you all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice review
I cannot fault the level of care and support that my mother is receiving at Avonmere. Everything is of a very high standard but it's the staff who deserve a special mention, they are incredibly patient, caring, kind and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. I'm happy that Mum is in good hands. Thank you Avonmere!
Both my parents-in-law are both on the memory floor and are well looked after. The staff are very professional and caring towards everyone who is in the home whatever floor they live on. I would extremely recommend anyone to put their family in Avonmere as they are very helpful and caring.

We are grateful that my mum receives consistency with her care as she is a wheelchair user following a stroke. The care staff are supportive, kind and respectful, the activity team are marvellous and inclusive and she has nice friends amongst the other residents who include her despite she has lost the ability to fully use speech. The front-of-house team communicate effectively, are helpful and efficient. On occasion when we have not been happy, Avonmere are quick to resolve any issues. We feel reassured our mum is cared for in the best possible way.

Thank you for your lovely review of Avonmere Care Home in Bristol. The staff do genuinely care for our residents and pride themselves on the quality of service provided. I know they will be really pleased to hear your feedback.
The home is clean and residents are treated with dignity and respect. We have experienced the ground floor and the memory floor and found the standard of care to be of high quality in both areas with staff making time to speak with the residents. Nothing appears to be too much trouble. We do accept that at times residents may have to wait for things as other residents' needs have to be prioritised. Overall a positive experience with no reasons for complaint.

Overall we have had a very good experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our relative feels at home and is generally happy. The activities team are particularly impressive. We have had a problem with mistakes over billings meaning that we were billed too much on several occasions and it has taken a long time to sort out.

I love working at Avonmere as I have a passion and drive to enhance the lives of others and walk alongside those on their care home journey to ensure a smooth transition during, what can be, such a difficult time. I have worked as a care assistant and a senior care, which is where I found my love for working in older adult care. I then completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health Nursing. After finishing my degree, I worked in various roles within nursing care, including RSM, deputy and now Home Manager.
