Overall Experience

My Dad has been a resident for nearly a year now & I would describe the home overall as average, there are some genuinely caring & dedicated members of staff, but unfortunately the standard of care isn't consistent. One of my biggest concerns is my Dad's personal hygiene, his teeth & general cleanliness are not always maintained to the standard I would expect, & this is something that needs more attention. I've also witnessed some staff being quite rough when handling him, which is upsetting to see. That said I do want to recognise the staff who consistently provide excellent care, Micheala is fantastic, she's kind, compassionate & professional. Alex & Ben are wonderful with him too, I do have concerns about another carer & worry that my Dad isn't receiving the level of care when she is responsible for him. The food could be improved as the quality isn't great. I hope this feedback is taken constructively.

The staff have all been supportive. According to my father, but thre have been a few occasions when he did feel he was not well supported. This appears to be more overnight.

The medical team have been excellent.

Everyone is kind, attentive & genuinely warm. They look after Dad very well despite how difficult he can be.
He certainly gives them some challenges. He is always clean & looks well kept. He loves the food mostly (there are always days when he's less enthusiastic, but that is just personal preference.)

I do think the beds are low quality, he often complains of a bad back. We also struggle with personal property going missing but that could him.

Reply from Christina Stuit, Client Liaison Manager at Milton Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare
Thank you Kim, for taking the time to give us review and for making us aware of the situation with the bed.

I will ask our maintenance team to place a new bed in dad's room.

Mother In Law is very contented. She is safe and comfortable. The staff are amazing with her and she gets a lot of attention. She is now sleeping a lot but when she is awake she is chatting and smiling. She will be 100 in October.

Food: 80% is nice. Fish dishes are not nice. Care: very good. Staff always listen. And care for each other. Room: bed is uncomfortable but understand difficult to do anything about. Activities: I don't do any but know they are there. Facilities: I get annoyed having to be hoisted, as feel it inconveniences the staff.

My mother was a resident at Milton Court for the last months of her life. I live overseas and could only visit a few times. During my visits I could see that mom was being cared for very well. She was made to feel safe, very comfortable
with her mental, physical and emotional needs being met by caring and kind staff who in my opinion went above and beyond in their duties. Everyone who cared and interacted with mom brought her some laughter and a little more love during her days there.
During the time that I was not visiting, the staff would make sure to assist mom with setting up her touchscreen tablet computer so that we could video chat and see each other. I was kept updated frequently of mom's health and mental health conditions and any changes that were occurring with her. When the time was near and mom transitioned to End of Life the nurses informed me immediately so that I could make plans to see her.

I am so grateful that mom was in a caring, clean and supportive environment in her final days.

My partner, who has advanced vascular dementia, has been part of the Milton Court family for 12 months. From the minute you step through the front door you are greeted with friendly smiling faces, and I can not fault the attention and care given to my partner. Any concerns I initially had were answered and dealt with speedily and professionally, and each time I leave I do so knowing that my partner is being well cared for.

Mum has lived in Milton Court for a couple of months now. Mum has made friends and is really enjoying all the entertainment and activities provided. All staff are kind and helpful. Communication is excellent. We know mum is safe and well cared for. Her room is kept clean and tidy. Mum is very well fed and tea and biscuits provided. When visiting mum we are made very welcome and I honestly can not fault anything.

With Mum's changing care needs the staff have done everything they can to ensure her health and wellbeing are catered for From ensuring vehicles do not park right up to her window, blocking her view and causing her distress. To the chef changing her diet to ensure her health problems are eased with the correct food and drink

I visited several local care homes though on my first visit to Milton Court with Christina I felt I had found the right place.
Any worries and requests were accommodated on that first visit and every day that followed. Dad was treated as an individual, his specific care needs were understood and met.
The care Dad received from nurses Red & Mary and the Kensington carers was exceptional, I cannot speak highly enough of them. The Well Being team genuinely love their job & the residents. The weekly calendar is full of activities.
Housekeeping and Maintenance were respectful & helpful .
Management cared, listened & acted.
When Dad was sadly on end of life care we were provided a room to stay in next to Dad. We were looked after as a family.

One point to make to Avery Healthcare. They must support the team at Milton Court and provide air con to the upper floors. I hope Avery listen as this exceptional team deserve the same care & respect they provide every day to residents and families

Mum has been at Milton Court since November 2024, initially in Residential Care and now in Nursing care.
I have always been kept updated by staff when any medical or health issues have arisen and Mum has always been very well cared for.
The staff are all very friendly and approachable and their care and respect for residents and their dignity is clearly
evident.

Although Mum is not able to join in with them there is a great variety of activities and entertainment at the home.

Thank you Vicky, for taking the time to complete this lovely review.

We are cognisant of our residents on the nursing floor not always being able to attend the activities and that is why we rotate the parties by floor so that the bed bound residents can experience all the energy and fun too. We look froward to seeing you at the next one.

My aunt really likes living at Milton Court. She appreciates the care, staff, food and is very comfortable. She doesn't attend all activities, but does like the singers. Occasionally they forget to get her for these sessions. I like the fact she's so close, looked after well and i can't ask for better care for her!

We moved my mum into Milton Court at the end of June. It's our first experience of finding residential care and came after a stressful time, following time in hospital and an assessment home, but the manager and all the staff have been brilliant and extremely loving and supportive to us and mum. They can not do enough for us. The room is beautiful and the lounges and garden too.
Mum wasn't a massively social person in her later years but she joins in all the activities and loves to sing with the entertainers.
We are starting to relax now as the years of caring for mum has taken their toil, but I can honestly say I know mum is safe, cared for and cared about so well.
She loves the meals and again the knowledge that she is eating well and regularly is a comfort to us as a family.
This whole process has been made so much easier for us by the staff and that is so appreciated.

A massive thank you to all the team at Milton Court.

Milton Court has a nice, welcoming feel and all staff smile and say hello when passing in the corridor.

Management and admin are approachable and have an open door policy so it's easy to talk to them about any issues or ask their advice, as and when required, with no appointment needed.

The seniors keep a very close eye on the care of the residents and phone with any updates regarding GP visits, changes in medication, hospital appointments, dietary requirements, etc.

I feel 100% confident my parents are supported, cared for and safe.
