Lovely friendly welcome and very homely. My Grandma was happy and well looked after. The staff were professional and approachable nothing too much trouble.
The home was very safe and secure. All areas I visited were tidy and spotless.

Fantastic care home. My nan suffers from Dementia and was being cared for at home by my mum until it became too much for her. My Nan requires 24/7 supervision as she has increasingly become nocturnal. The facilities are first class, it is nice and homely, and the staff are wonderful with her. I would
recommend this care home to anybody with an elderly relative in need.

My mother has been in respite care for a few weeks at Milton Court, and as her daughter, I have been beyond impressed with the level of care provided for Mum during this time. All the staff I have spoken to have been warm and caring, providing her with a stable caring environment.
The rooms are bright
and airy with en-suites and are cleaned to a high standard. The food looks very appetising too and there are plenty of activities.
Mum always sings when she's happy, and she's been singing a lot; what a lovely care home for my elderly mother to be in, even for a short while.
Thank you so much.

A lovely home. Super rooms, caring, attentive staff who always have time for Mum and show an interest in her. Activities every day, which Mum thoroughly enjoys, are interesting and stimulating. Staff on top of Mum's medical needs.
I can't think of any shortcomings, so far Mum has been very happy since
she moved in in August. She was lonely at home but now there is always someone to talk to from first thing in the morning until bedtime.

My husband was previously in another home in the area and was admitted to hospital due to being dehydrated and undernourished. When he was discharged we were lucky enough to be able to get him into Milton Court.
We feel so much more confident and happy with him being in Milton Court they seem to understand
his needs as he is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The staff work so hard and it would help if there was an increase in carer numbers.

My Mother has been in Milton Court since 2019. Over that time her care has been varied. The memory floor was not well run, and staff showed little understanding of the care needs of residents with dementia. However, in balance to that comment, I have to say the nursing floor is much better run, and
the care staff works very hard in what is a very demanding environment. My Mother has been a lot happier since being on that floor and the care staff were exceptional in nursing her during a time when she was severely ill, and she pulled through.
Unfortunately, I would have to add that the Manager and admin staff show no regard for stakeholder engagement and have been consistently malicious and spiteful in their attitude. It hardly shows the company in a good light and in fact demonstrates the contempt they hold for their employer.

My mother has been in Milton Court since July 2019. She has been very well looked after and indeed, I also have benefited from good advice. Sadly the Alzheimer's is taking its toll and she is now in the Balmoral Unit where she is receiving excellent care. The staff (one member in particular who keeps
in touch with me) are excellent. Thank you.

On visiting my mother today, I heard shouting to find her on the toilet in a mess. Finally found a staff member to help my mum. Mum was distressed, goodness knows how long she had been waiting. Asked staff member why no one was answering alarms, her reply, we are short-staffed! This is happening far
too often! These elderly people are being left at risk!

On visiting my mother today, who has been poorly with stomach problems, I was horrified to see that the beaker she was drinking from was full of mold spots and the lip she drinks from was absolutely filthy with even more mold!
Yesterday my sister visited to find no staff and Mum shouting for help,
as she has soiled herself. This is all totally unacceptable.

Mitton Court is everything you would want for your loved one. My mum had dementia and always said 'I love it here, this is my home'.
This gave me great comfort in knowing she was happy. The staff are incredible, kind and supportive. They become part of your family and always welcome you with a smile.

Milton Court is a really lovely home. My Mum hasn’t been here long, however, the staff are all amazing. My mother has been a resident at Milton Court since May 2019. The home and rooms are clean and well looked after. The staff take great care of my mother, are genuinely interested in her welfare and, especially over the covid crisis, have stepped up to comfort her when visiting has been suspended. The
attention they have given to keeping the residents safe is excellent. I would also like to thank the staff for the care and understanding they have shown me when times have been difficult. My mother is not always the easiest person to deal with, but that has not stopped them from being thoughtful and understanding. They go the extra mile. Thank you.

200 words cannot describe how great Milton Court have been in regards to my dad. My dad has Parkinson's and he moved in, in January 2020 in a very bad state healthwise: anxious, not eating, struggling to take his medication and not able to cope independently. The care home have been amazing at managing
Dad's needs (especially through a pandemic) and have gotten to know his quirks and character well. Dad feels safe and knows that there is someone always on call to help him, which is very important for us all. The staff are always friendly, kind, helpful and the communications from the care home in general has been very good both from a Covid perspective, but also in terms of Dad's care. The reception staff are great and the care home has a good relationship with Dad's Parkinson's nurse and managing/maintaining his medication schedule. We're really happy that Dad is at such good home and it's put our minds so much at ease, which I didn't think was possible a few years ago.

Whilst my mother was only in Milton Court for a short period of time, between her release from hospital and sadly passing away, the care given by the Milton Court team was exemplary, both to my mother and myself. Given the challenges brought by the Covid restrictions, the team managed to make her comfortable
and enabled us to visit her as and when required in her last days. Despite the very short duration of her stay, I cannot fault the care given and highly recommend the team and the care home.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.017)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.017) out of 10 for Milton Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.813 for Milton Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.813
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.204 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Milton Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 148 registered maximum number of service users is 29.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 29.6 = 0.304
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello everyone! My name is Dorian, I am one of the Maintenance for Milton Court. My role is to maintain the building and grounds of Milton Court. As I am a very practical person training as a Ship Mechanic back home, I love fixing things and making sure everything is just right. I am very proud to be a part of the Milton Court team.

On my normal day, you will see me turning my hand to many things such as making sure resident’s rooms are all in good working order. Doing our daily, weekly and monthly checks. I will support you with your move-in by putting up pictures, helping move any belongings or putting things in place for you. I am always here to help.

Come on over to Milton and have a chat to find out more about what I do.
