8.6 Sunrise of Beaconsfield has a Review Score of 8.6 (8.636)

The Review Score of 8.6 (maximum of 10) for Sunrise of Beaconsfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 9 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Sunrise of Beaconsfield in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.206 for Sunrise of Beaconsfield is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.206

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered beds. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered beds has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 4.43 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sunrise of Beaconsfield is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 18.6 positive Reviews (93 registered beds ÷ 5). 8 Reviews ÷ 18.6 Target = 0.430

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

The staff are very helpful and have a sense of humour which is very important to my father.
He has settled well enjoying his surroundings and the food.
Not enough activities for gentlemen and more opportunities to go out are needed.

Staff are very supportive and helpfu when transferring to a different room. They made the whole transaction very straight forward and were very caring about making everything as similar as possible. Very impressed.

Everyone at Sunrise of Beaconsfield was great, from the initial viewing, through to the assessment of my father, moving in, care while he was there, help during his last few days and aftercare to the family. We have the impression that the permanent staff really do care about their residents so it's not 'just a job'.
The facilities are excellent, the food is good and there are plenty of activities and entertainment laid on.

We have found the care home and staff to be very welcoming and hospitable. They have welcomed my mother and her family. But have also been hospitable to her guests in the way in which she would have done whilst living in her own home.
The home is warm and the environment feels comfortable. It very much feels like 'home-from-home'.

Any concerns or questions we have had during this period whilst my mother settles into the environment have been promptly responded to.

The home is well run and sympathetic to the needs of residents. I also feel that they involve the family of residents and are flexible about care arrangements. However, the cost at the care home is high and I would expect excellent levels of service. Having read the poor review of CQC in 1914 it is obvious that measures were put in place to resolve the situation. These measures appear to have been successful and planned further improvements will be beneficial I.e. Larger dining room, new entrance carpets and some redecorating. A small negative which would be difficult to resolve is the shortage of car parking.

My mother has been at Sunrise for 6 years. The carers and management have been friendly, kind, supportive but most importantly they are very kind to my mother. They have a tough job and at times a lot of responsibility. Dementia residents can be very difficult and I admire the staff. There are areas that could be improved but not involving the carers! Thank you so much.

I have visited this care home on many occasions and seen many interactions between staff and residents. I have always witnessed warmth, intelligence, good humour, gentle care and imaginative anticipation. I do not know how Sunrise manages such good discipline and nurturing attention amongst its staff, but there seems to something good about the culture here. This is, of course, very difficult work and it seems to me that Sunrise provides an exemplar of how it should be done.

My mother has enjoyed living here for the past seven years and has received a high standard of care at all times. Very friendly staff and motivating carers. Having lunch with her in the bistro has the feel of being in a restaurant.
