My Dad stayed at Sunrise Beaconsfield for a month's respite recovering from an operation and sepsis. He had lost weight and the will to live. The care and compassion shown were just outstanding. They got him eating and exercising again. He enjoyed the trips and entertainment provided. I cannot fault
any member of staff. All went above and beyond in kindness form the office staff to cleaners. Food was amazing and so was his room and facilities.

My mum moved into Sunrise in February 2016 and since that time I have visited pretty much every day for about two hours, so I think I have a reasonable understanding of Sunrise and its staff. Since the manager arrived (almost two years ago), she has built a good management team - which do seem to work
cohesively as a team; all are very approachable, make time and do listen. We have found the staff to be very receptive to my mum’s needs and our needs as a family; they demonstrate flexibility, understanding and care; the little things they do often make a big difference. The carers make an effort to understand the needs of my mum and of each resident generally. The dining staff are also intuitive and encourage my mum to eat as best she can. The concierge staff are hugely helpful and make me feel reassured each time I leave that my mum will be well cared for. I personally have confidence in Sunrise of Beaconsfield and am so pleased that my mum benefits from the care the staff provide.

I have been pleasantly surprised by how kind everyone is - and also how much there is to do.
If I ask for anything they do their best to help.
The food is mostly good and also imaginative.
I always knew I would come here because my daughter and family live here and I will see more of them. The journey
from Cheshire was dreadful - and I refuse to live with them - it isn't fair.
They think of so many things for us to do and I am definitely glad I have come.

Apart from the occasional period of staff shortages when beds are still unmade at lunchtime and afternoon drinks aren't brought around (father unable to go to the cafe or help himself). I am happy with the service provided. When critical health issues arise, staff are quick to react and communicate
well. All the staff are friendly and helpful, often under trying circumstances! One gripe is parking it's very difficult when visiting.

My Mum has been in palliative care phase since June...It has been incredibly difficult for us as a family to watch her rapid decline and loss of control and dignity over the past weeks, it's also amazing how she has kept going. Sadly she died on 31st August. Mum has been shown genuine care love and
support from many of the team at Sunrise and I appreciate everything that has been done to help her in her remaining weeks.

Just before Christmas 2017 I took 30 days of respite care after a rather stressful surgical intervention. Everyone I came into contact with was so helpful, concerned and caring. It was a pleasure to walk the spacious corridors and public areas, knowing that if needed here was a willing person to give
me help.
Some staff were particularly supportive but all were very willing and cheerful. They worked together as a team keeping an eye on everyone making sure that problems were solved before they started.
The food was of a good standard with sensible portion sizing and professional service.
My wife moved into Reminiscence in September 2017. It was a tremendous load off my shoulders to know that she was being given loving care by all the staff.
They work as a happy team and are very positive in the level of care they give to her. She is very happy and when weather permits she delights in sitting in the beautiful gardens soaking up the sun.

My mother does not take part in activities - too busy in her room (computer/reading etc). As she likes spicy food she feels some meals are very bland, but she understands why.

Overall - excellent. Always welcoming and very clean. A great relief to the family that she is cared for.

All the services are good to excellent with the exception of those provided by the dining service coordinator. She has yet to be seen in the dining room to ensure that the workload is shared equally by the staff available and the portions provided meet requirements as to size and quality.

Small

portions are still too big 3 of the 4 of us at table 13 discard half of the food. Meat is overcooked and toast soggy. What has deteriorated is that the midday meal is taking 1 1/2 hours to complete and we are invariably the last to leave. I suggest our hardworking staff need more assistance, especially if visitors are in the bistro.

The value for money rating is a general observation based on a wastage of food and drink.

Mum has spent 2 years in assisted living and 7 months in Reminiscence. After a severe bout of pneumonia Mum was moved to Rem. She has had the best care possible, well looked after, plenty of stimulation with interactive activities. There are always plenty of staff for residents to chat to and Mum has
benefitted all round. Although mentally confused Mum is walking, talking and recalling better, Sunrise has done a great job!

The reminiscence section has been absolutely brilliant for our Mum, with more one-to-one care and one-to-one interaction. We know from the activities and care from the excellent staff that she is better now both mentally and physically. She has dramatically improved even with her dementia, than 2 years
ago. I can't recommend them highly enough.

My mother moved into Sunrise of Beaconsfield in the summer of 2017 and the relief that she now has support and most importantly, company is very welcome. The staff are very pleasant and I can pop in to see my mother at any time. There are activities every day, which are optional, as well as a couple
of outings each week to areas of interest. The gardens are lovely in the summer, with plenty of space and the communal rooms inside are very homely.

Mum moved into Sunrise in the early months of 2016 and she died there in August 2017. For us, her daughters and our families, it was a relief that mum was able to be supported rather than living alone where she had become lonely and isolated and relatively withdrawn from daily social interactions with
others. For mum, this change meant that she regained much of her joy for life especially through the social interactions and activities that Sunrise had to offer her, the trips out particularly opened her eyes again to the outdoor world she loved. She could enjoy again singing, dancing and poetry, all activities offered by Sunrise. Additionally, her pleasure during this time was gained through the relationships she developed with the staff especially when she was able to learn about everyone's families and their own relationships. This warmth and friendship from staff members towards mum helped her and us considerably during her final illness.

My mother who has increasing dementia has been a resident for over a year. During this time she has moved from the open living to the secure living. We, the family, call in most days to visit here and thus have a great understanding of how the home works. In over a year I have never seen any of the
staff say a cross word to a resident or relative. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the care, kindness, friendliness and professionalism that every one of the staff has exhibited every single time I have visited. The ambience is lovely, the food exceptional. I have always said I would love to live there too.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.932 for Beaconsfield Heights Care Home - Avery Collection is calculated as follows: ( (289 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 309 Ratings = 4.932
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beaconsfield Heights Care Home - Avery Collection is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 registered maximum number of service users is 19, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Simon

Simon Meredith

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2025

Hello!
My name is Simon and I am the General Manager at Beaconsfield Heights.
I am originally from Lancashire but have lived in Buckinghamshire since aged 18. I have spent all of my career working in adult social care.

Having worked across all of the different care sectors, I believe I have gained a good understanding of the dilemmas faced by those in our care and also an appreciation of how daunting it must be to move from the family home into residential care. The thought that I am in a privileged position to be able to influence and have a positive impact on people’s lives is very motivating and rewarding for me.

I am also passionate about supporting our staff to develop and to achieve to the best of their ability. If we have a happy and engaged staff team, it follows that we should have happy, well-cared-for residents and a happy home.

If we can put the individual at the centre of all that we do, we can ensure that our residents are fully involved in all of our decision-making processes, enabling us to deliver care and support that is as individual as they are.

Away from work, I am married with two children and a dog. If I am not at Beaconsfield Heights or at home (or out walking the dog), I can be found following the mighty Preston North End around the country.

Hi, I’m Daniela!

I joined Beaconsfield Heights in July 2025. I originally studied nursing in Romania and worked as a Paramedic before moving to the UK in 2016. That’s when I began my journey in the care sector, working as a Senior Carer and then Team Leader.

Four years ago, I was delighted to step into the role as a Deputy Manager. I’m passionate about supporting my colleagues, sharing my knowledge, and making sure we deliver the very best care to our residents every day.

I love being part of a team that truly makes a difference and seeing the positive impact we have on the lives of the people we care for.

Job Title: Residential Care Manager Joined: 2019

After working as a Pharmacy Technician for 10 years, I decided to follow my heart and move into the care sector. Joining the home as a Care Assistant in 2019, I have been able to develop my career, becoming a Senior Carer, Wellness Co-Ordinator and at the beginning of 2024 I was delighted to be offered the position of Residential Care Manager.

Working alongside my team of incredible carers, we strive to deliver exceptional person-centred care to every resident every day. A busy, varied and hugely rewarding position which I feel privileged to hold.

Job Title: Hotel Services Manager

I am very proud to be part of the team here at Beaconsfield. We always ensure that we deliver five-star service in every department, this was particularly highlighted throughout the pandemic as we recognised it was such a difficult time for residents, families and the staff.

The team spent a lot of time re-assuring residents and kept them mentally and physically stimulated and of course, our resident's safety was and is still the top priority. Our Concierge team run evening activities such as Cheese & Wine nights, Bingo and Quizzes which our residents love! I work closely with residents and their families to ensure that all enjoy dining experiences and that each resident has a nutritional meal plan to suit their needs.
