My 95-year-old mother moved into Beaconsfield Heights Care Home at the end of July after a difficult year or so in her own home. Even with carers visiting three times a day, she was finding it increasingly hard to cope. It was so hard for her to move from the house she lived inf or sixty-three years but after and initial, very wobbly few days, she has settled into her new life. She loves all the activities, the company, the food and is very happy she is being so well looked after - as are we! Thank you to all the staff who have helped my mother through this difficult period of transition.

My aunt has recently moved to Beaconsfield Heights Care home.
I looked at a number of care homes for her but this was the one I could see her settling into easily.
The staff have really treated her as an individual, really getting to know her. The staff are lovely, warm and attentive.
I had quite a lot of help preparing her room from the very helpful handyman.
The team are great. We've had a boat trip on the Thames at Henley, opera evenings and bingo etc.

We've seen a big improvement in her quality of life.

Dad has really settled into his new life at Beaconsfield Heights Care Home. The memory care team are fantastic, using the information shared about my dad prior to move-in to support him during those early days. He is now thriving, eating well, enjoying the company, activities and tailored trips out. I cannot thank the dementia care manager and her team enough for all they do for my dad.

A move into care is always an emotional journey, if a person is living with dementia, it is even more so. We are so touched to receive your review and to hear how the whole team have supported your dad to settle in and enjoy his new home. My mum stayed for two weeks of respite care. We all thought the staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. The room given to my mum was beautiful and clean. The meals were of such a high quality and varied. We all came away with a lovely feeling. Mum also said she would like to go back next year.

After a year of live in carers, my Mother moved to Beaconsfield Heights last year and hasn't looked back. Instead of living by herself with limited social contacts, she now has people to chat with, a full day filled with choices, and a range of stimulating recreational activities. She is incredibly happy and well looked after. The staff have been very attentive and proactive about making my Mother feel welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend this well-managed care facility and the exceptional staff.

From my initial inquiry about respite care for my father with the client liaison manager and a home visit to assess Dad's needs, we as a family cannot fault this home. The professionalism of all the staff is outstanding and they go above and beyond to care for their residents doing their utmost in getting to know them. There were so many lovely personal touches from Dad's welcome package to them celebrating his birthday and baking him a cake. Dad was very impressed with the selection and variety of food available to him and any dietary needs were met. The facilities and cleanliness of the home were also outstanding. They provide a home-from-home atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend Beaconsfield Heights for care for your loved ones. Five stars and well deserved. Thank you so much.

From the first phone call to Beaconsfield Heights I felt reassured by their caring approach, efficiency and the advice they were able to give about dementia care.

When we visited we were immediately impressed by the happy atmosphere and variety of well-planned and appropriate activities. Leaving your home is a hard decision to make and so Mum opted to try an initial month’s respite care. At the end of that month she had no hesitation in staying. The staff are unfailingly cheerful and I feel that Mum is genuinely happy there and making the most of this stage of her life, despite her memory loss. I have no hesitation in recommending Beaconsfield Heights.

My mother moved in 3 months ago following a series of downsizing moves, none of which were sufficient or successful. Having tried and failed at another care home, she moved into Beaconsfield Heights, initially for a respite 'trial' stay and never left. The staff were very welcoming and flexible, and did everything they could to make the move a success. The many activities and other residents have provided the social life and human interaction that her increasing physical frailty was preventing her from having in her old life. The food is delicious, and the kitchenette provides her with a sense of independence from the simple ability to make a snack or a cup of tea in her room when she chooses. With everything she was struggling to do for herself now taken care of, she is much calmer and has settled in really well.

It was recommended to me that my 98-year-old mother should experience a two-week respite. She lives by herself in a flat and is finding life more and more difficult. I organised an agency to give her care at home, one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. This service lasted for about four weeks. However my mother became exceedingly disillusioned with the service. Following advice I suggested to my mother that she should experience a care home. Beaconsfield Heights proposed a respite of two weeks which I thought would be ideal. I believe the respite was a success. My mother enjoyed her stay, she found the staff professional, very understanding and fabulously supportive. However, my mother is quite a determined and difficult individual, she indicated that for the moment she prefers staying in her flat. She feels she is not ready for a move into a care home. Beaconsfield Heights would suit her well. I hope that my mother will reconsider moving to Beaconsfield Heights.

My father moved into Beaconsfield Heights five months ago and the help and assistance we received was outstanding. The staff were so helpful in assisting with arrangements and options to moving Dad in and assisting him to acclimatise to the new way of life. The facilities are almost like a five-star hotel, with a beautiful garden to walk around/sit in, in the nice weather. There are always activities/entertainment during the day and evenings which residents can join in with or not, as they wish. My father loves the trips out, which they arrange in the minibus to various different locations with stops for coffee and cake! When my father has experienced some health issues the care staff have been excellent, providing assistance and comfort when needed, giving my Dad more confidence that support is always there should he need it. Dad agrees he could not be in a better place, which provides me and the rest of the family peace of mind too.

Our relationship with Beaconsfield Heights has been a gradual journey. My parents originally chose Beaconsfield Heights for a couple of respite stays during the winter. During a subsequent stay, it became apparent that my father’s needs were much greater than my mother's and that what was right for one of them was not right for both, so my father stayed as a resident, and my mother moved back home and visited frequently, as did I and my wider family. This was a very difficult and emotional transition, especially for my dad, but the staff were very supportive of him throughout and all of us during this difficult time. My dad then had a fall resulting in a hospital stay which set him even further back. His needs were reassessed and he was readmitted to Beaconsfield Heights in the dementia area - ‘reminiscence’. Again, another difficult transition, but handled professionally and with great care by the staff. My dad has now settled and feels both at home and well cared for.

My mother moved into Beaconsfield Heights in December 2022 after having a bad fall in her home two weeks before. Her dementia was such that even a live-in carer was finding it difficult to cope with her anxiety and increasing needs.
We now feel she’s safe, very well cared for and entertained on a daily basis. Most days, a singer or musician will entertain the residents, followed by tea and cakes, to which family members are welcomed with open arms.

Thank you for all you do to make Mum as happy as she is.

My mother made a voluntary choice to go to Beaconsfield Heights Care Home in January 2019 following some time spent in her own home following the loss of my father.
For the first three years, my mother enjoyed the freedom of personal choice in everything in which she participated throughout each day, from choices of food at meal times and participation in activities, external visits and evening camaraderie seven days each week. The regular medical visits at the home combined with detailed records ensured that her health was properly monitored and she was protected against potential illness. My mother really welcomed the care and attention that she received.

In the last eighteen months, after her 101st birthday, even greater care was exercised by all staff in the care and nurturing of not only my mother but other elderly residents. My mother's natural, waning strength was offset by increased vigilance and personal nursing. A very good finale.

I came here for 2 weeks respite care after a total knee replacement. I can't fault the care I received the information I was given beforehand and the follow-up with the hospital, as to whether there was any special help I would need was comprehensive and thoughtful. The room I was given was on the ground floor with a door to the attractive gardens and came with a complete en-suite together with a small kitchen area. All the people who worked there could not have been more helpful and pleasant, particularly as I found it impossible to sit at the dining room table and therefore had all meals in my room. The food too was very good indeed, well balanced, good variety and always delicious. There was a variety of entertainment during the fortnight I was there. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone needing respite care to seriously look at Beaconsfield Heights.

My two weeks of respite here at Beaconsfield Heights Care Home were very satisfactory. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them and always a cheerful smile. Dining room staff were particularly helpful. Should I ever need to go into a care home, my first choice would be the Heights.

I was lucky when there as the weather was good so I was able to make use of the garden.

It is a very daunting task trying to find the right home for your loved ones.

We had many doubts, partly because of the type of person Dad is but also just the responsibility of the decision to be made and the potential to make the wrong decision.

All that said we could not be happier that we made the decision and chose Beaconsfield Heights Care Home - Avery Collection.

Partly because of the great living facilities but most importantly the people, the care, attention and dedication they bring to looking after all the residents.

Dad is extremely happy, and I have to say I am seeing sides to him (all good) that I have never seen before which is remarkable and brings a smile to all the family. As my wife put it he has a new lease of life. He now has a wider family which is so good to see.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all the team, without exception, for the remarkable care and attention, and not least warmth they have shown continuously; impressive and humbling.

My career in care began when I was 21 years old, and it has been my passion ever since. At 24, I became a mum to my daughter and returned to work when she was just three months old, balancing family life with a career I truly love.

I started as a care assistant and remained in my first care home until I was 25. I then moved to a care home in Amersham, where I progressed to the role of Team Leader. After that, I joined a domiciliary care provider as a Senior Carer and worked my way up to Deputy Manager. Following 15 rewarding years in domiciliary care, I returned to residential care as a Deputy Manager.

Throughout my career, I have worked my way up from care assistant to deputy management, gaining valuable experience across both residential and domiciliary care settings. Today, I am proud to be Dementia Care Manager for Beaconsfield Heights.

Caring for others has always been more than just a job for me; it's a vocation. I continue to enjoy making a positive difference to people's lives every day, and I embrace the challenges and rewards that come with providing high-quality, person-centred care.
