The facilities are very nice. The main positive is the kindness and dedication of staff who have some difficult residents to manage and care for. The whole home is well managed and the integral teams work together to provide a supportive and pleasant environment.

Since entering the building we have been treated with respect, understanding and consideration for our dilemma - i.e., my husband's recent diagnosis of dementia. From the first contact - a 'showcase' of the building, followed by an assessment of the local hospital, to my husband's reception in late
January and subsequent care and nurture - both medical and social - I have been reassured that he is in safe and capable hands. The whole staff have been - and continue to be - welcoming and obliging. Thank you - we hope our 'relationship' may continue.

I stayed at Waterhouse Manor for 3 weeks of respite care. My whole experience was very pleasant. I was warmly welcomed by all the staff. I had a lovely, comfortable room. The food was delicious, and I found the whole experience restful and comforting. If I found myself in the situation of needing full-time
care, then this would be my choice without a doubt. The facilities exceed other care homes I have visited to see friends in the area.

I had a week's respite care at Waterhouse Manor after a hip operation. I was so impressed with every aspect of my care. The staff, the beautiful bedrooms, the dining rooms, and the quality of the food were all outstanding. It felt more like a hotel than a care home, and if I ever need full-time care,
this would be my choice. The ambience of the home and its staff, do all they can to make the residents feel secure and happy.

Mum was made most welcome into Waterhouse Manor Care Home. There were some normal minor glitches when mum moved in as everyone was getting used to her and she was settling in. All our concerns were heard and acted upon in a timely manor. Mum has now settled in well and enjoys partaking in lots of activities.

My mother went into Waterhouse Manor Care Home over a year ago. Before she entered she never spoke much and did not want to go out and about. A year later she is involved in every activity going. She loves living there and has made many friends. Due to her dementia she does not talk a lot. But the
difference I have seen in her is amazing. She is the first to get involved in any activities going. She always tells me she loves living there. It is so nice to see my mum content and happy. The staff are amazing and always make us feel welcome. Going to visit mum is enjoyable. They have made us all feel very welcome as a family.
Reply from Milly Bunning, Client Liaison Manager at Waterhouse Manor Care HomeThank you Debbie for a heart-warming review. My mum moved to Waterhouse in November for Respite care for initially 4 weeks. Mum was finding life living alone at home increasingly difficult.
After the first 4 weeks it was clear that this was the best move for mum and she became a resident.
Mum was happier as she was having contact/conversations
with other residents and carers everyday. She joined in with all the wide range of activities that they put on, from bingo, bakery sessions, walks, exercise, coffee mornings, quizzes, film afternoons in the cinema, visitors, the Christmas fete, valentines celebration, singers, entertainers, trips out and about.
The carers and staff at Waterhouse are a breath of fresh air. They are chatty and have got to know mum really well.
Her room is well kept and we have been able to bring in some of mums favourite things to make it her own.
The meals are healthy and eating altogether with her friends makes it a social event. We love visiting mum in a safe and happy environment.
Reply from Milly Bunning, Client Liaison Manager at Waterhouse Manor Care HomeThank you for a touching, 5* review. We are delighted to support Mum and pleased that you have seen such a positive impact on Mum's physical, emotional & social wellbeing now that she resides with us at Waterhouse Manor - it is a pleasure. My mother moved into Waterhouse Manor in October 2025. Our family have been very impressed with the level of care that she has received at Waterhouse. All of the staff are so kind and caring. The activity schedule is varied and interesting with lots of fun, stimulating events within the home and also
trips outside of the home. The Christmas fair was fantastic, lots of fun for the residents and their families. The home is always very clean and the food a good standard. I would definitely recommend Waterhouse Manor.

Mum was really struggling at home and trying to find the right care home was'nt the easiest job, from the moment I visited Waterhouse manor I knew it was the best place for her, the whole team have made mums transition into residential care a positive experience, since becoming a resident mum has improved
so much she takes part in activities and enjoys having social interaction with the other residents and carers.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Waterhouse Manor to anyone needing care for their loved ones.

My mother has just spent a weeks respite at Waterhouse Manor and has had a lovely time.
I can not thank the staff enough for making her stay enjoyable as she was apprehensive about going in having not been to a care home before. Mum enjoyed the activities she participated In, going to the cinema and
the food in her words was amazing. Her room was very nice and overlooked the lovely gardens. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Thank you very much and she looks forward to her next visit.

This care home took a broken (mentally) 100-year-old lady and helped her blossom into her former self. The staff gave her everything she could possibly want, and treated her as an individual and gave her as much love as anyone could possibly want. She was so happy and contend and her life was full to
the brim of everything she enjoyed. The home has such amazing staff and they work together as a team always for the clients best interests.

My mum moved into the care home in a couple of months back, she was previously living at home but was not coping well with being on her own, even with carers going in three times a day. We chose this home over others we looked at, as it was clean and newly built. My mother is thoroughly enjoying every
aspect of living at Waterhouse Manor. The Staff are professional and its nice to see them laughing and joking with the residents, it always appears to have a good atmosphere. I'm confident we made the right choice.

Our loved one has been a permanent resident at Waterhouse Manor since early Feb 25. From the offset we were impressed by the high-level of care and preparation that was put in for her arrival, ensuring a smooth transition at such a challenging time. The whole team made her feel so welcome and comfortable,
plus engaging with us as a family to make sure we had all our concerns and needs met; nothing was too much trouble.
As the level of care of our loved one has changed due to her dementia, we have again been impressed by the proactive and caring approach taken by the care team - fully involving our family to understand next steps and approaches to adapt the dynamic care plan that is in place.
So, thank you Waterhouse Manor! To the amazing team that work so hard there, from the client manager, reception staff, management, carers, housekeepers and the catering team - we send heartfelt thanks from us all (and from dogs that love coming in for a bit of love and fuss)
Fully recommended!

My mum moved into this care home in February, having previously lived in another luxury care home. My mother is absolutely thriving, with a huge zest for life, thoroughly enjoying every aspect of life here. She is blessed with highly professional staff with outstanding skills, who are led by an exemplary
manager. The whole team of staff all engage thoroughly with residents as this is modelled by the Care Home Manager and her very capable team - there is very much an open door policy and senior managerial staff are very much aware of the needs of individual residents, as they engage with them daily in meaningful ways. My mother absolutely loves the variety of weekly quality activities - including visiting singers, visits from animals, trips out, quality crafts, and in house cinema to name but a few. The whole team here gels well, including the compassionate customer liaison manager, the very obliging facilities manager and the creative lead chef who makes amazing gluten free dishes.

Mum moved to WM Care Home in early February. She had been very poorly (along with displaying signs of dementia) and was no longer able to look after herself at home.
It has taken a few weeks for Mum to settle but the care she has received has been amazing. The staff all deeply care for the residents.
Mum is making friends with other residents and joining in with activities.

Mum went in for respite care over Christmas as she has Alzheimer's. I had previously viewed the home by myself and was very impressed. We then had a visit with Mum and spoke to the staff and she chose her room. We then had a home visit to sort out all the paperwork which was much better than doing it
there. Mum had a good time and I felt that she was definitely in good hands. The facilities are lovely and the home is very community oriented which I like, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.901) out of 10 for Waterhouse Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.901 for Waterhouse Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (287 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 312 Ratings = 4.901
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Waterhouse Manor Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
