Our mum has been at Cliveden Manor for nearly six and a half years. Our mum is up on the Willows the Dementia suite. During this time our mum has been looked after with love and care. All members of staff are Caring and Supportive for mums needs especially the Willows staff. Many great Activities
for all residents. Mum enjoys the singing the best. Also the food is very well presented and always great choices. Laundry and housekeeping team are always great.

My mother has made good progress since arriving from hospital. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. All staff are exceptionally nice, caring and supportive. The challenge seems to be response time to requesting support. Sometimes my mother can wait up to an hour for someone to attend to her call.
Staff seem to be very busy and consideration should be given to the ratio of carers to residents.

Dad spent 5 very happy months here. He thrived on the easy and relaxed atmosphere and social interaction, and loved all the staff (clearly had his favourites, though!). The facilities are superb - it's great to be able to enjoy a coffee together in the cafe, or a meal in the restaurant. The whole team
were easy to interact with throughout - thoughtful, caring and patient, even through difficult times. It comforted the family greatly to know that Dad was so comfortable and happy here.

Since my mother moved here she is healthier and happier than ever before. It is a relief to me to know that my mother is being well looked after and that she is encouraged to be independent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciate all the activities that are planned (everyday!).
My mother has more friends and variety in her life now than ever before. Also it is very clean here. I cannot recommend this home enough!

My mother arrived at Cliveden with very short notice. She came straight from hospital after surgery at the age of 101 and she was treated with great kindness and dignity. She was assessed and all her many needs were met without fuss.
The administrative staff were very friendly and obliging which made
everything easier for us as a family.
The atmosphere was relaxed and grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were able to visit.
Despite lack of mobility hairdressing and mancure/pedicure were provided.
Parking and visiting presented no problems and we could always get a coffee.

My friend has been living in Cliveden Manor for a year. He gets fantastic care by the committed staff. It seems to me that everyone, staff and residents alike are happy to be there. I often take our old dog along and she is welcomed and has to spend time navigating the lounge, being greeted by all.
Now when we arrive her tail starts wagging and doesn't stop till she leaves.
During this month, my friend moved rooms. Staff carried out the offer process, agreeing the move and executing it so well. My friend is happy in his new place.

My godmother moved to Cliveden Manor when her previous care home closed down. Even though she has a degenerative condition, her mental faculties appeared to improve after the move, which I attribute to the excellent care she has received. She is in The Willows, which looks after residents with dementia.
There are multiple activities every day, entertainers performing and frequent trips. The residents go on boat trips from Marlow, are taken to Kew Gardens and even go ice-skating. Wheelchairs on the ice! I believe these many stimulating activities are greatly beneficial in maintaining cognitive function and engagement with one's surroundings.
The medical care is managed well through a local GP, with relatives being invited to an annual medication review.
The staff are warm and caring, showing a real affection for the resident and impressive attention to detail. I have recommended Cliveden Manor to friends, as it is the best care home I have visited.

In December 2024, I contracted Cliveden Manor Care Home to see if they could offer respite care to my father who had been taken ill abroad. The team worked closely with me as my father was repatriated. They went out of their way to ensure that he was successfully transferred to Cliveden Manor on Christmas
Eve. It was an entirely patient-led process. No red tape. No massive forms. It was a great relief to me and my family to have him settled before Christmas.

I have found the care home very welcoming, efficient, caring and the environment very friendly and comfortable. When I have raised any queries on behalf of my sister, while she was staying for 2 weeks respite care, they were dealt with efficiently and quickly. My sister and I have now decided that she
will stay permanently as a resident. They have made her so welcome, responded promptly to care needs and the client liaison manager has been particularly kind, understanding and has gone the extra mile to make sure my sisters care and comfort is a priority.

My mother lived at Cliveden Manor Care Home from February 2023 until she passed away in September of 2024. I want to take the opportunity to thank all the wonderful staff at Cliveden Manor for the excellent care given to my mother over the last 20 months and especially during the last 3 months. Although
she strongly resisted going into Cliveden and was very angry with me for 'locking her up', she genuinely came to love living there and calling it home. I think the reason she loved it so much was the exceptional level of care she received. I know she felt a great deal of affection for all of her caregivers and the nursing staff. The team there is really outstanding, and I couldn't be happier with the care she received. We should all be so lucky as to live in a place like Cliveden Manor for our final years! Since I live in the US, it was a great comfort to me to know that my mother was loved and taken care of. The lovely staff felt like family to me and mum.

My mother has been living at Cliveden Manor Care Home for 3 months now. She is always saying what a lovely home it is, and that all the staff are very helpful and friendly. Mum has recently changed rooms. The client liaison manager, was extremely caring, patient and considerate, helping mum to find
the room that best suited her needs and preferences. She has been extremely supportive to both me and mum and we are very grateful to her for all her help throughout the process. She has been professional and caring. Mum is very settled now.

I stayed at Cliveden Manor for 3 weeks and I will certainly return. The rooms were lovely and I found the staff could not have been more helpful. There was always something happening to keep the residents occupied but if one wanted to be alone the staff would pop into our room to check we were OK. I

Karen

Karen Holmes

Job Title: Clinical Home Manager Joined: 2024

I was born in Sunderland; however, my family emigrated to South Africa when I was a child, but I never forgot my roots and always knew I would return one day. I just didn’t know it would take me so long.


I completed my schooling and I enrolled on nursing. I qualified as a general Nurse, working a lot in the elderly people’s wards. After a few years, I transferred to paediatrics and ultimately settled in the Critical care units.


In 1990, I continued my training by specialising in Medical and Surgical Critical care with a speciality in Cardio-thoracic nursing. During my nursing career, I worked my way up from a Staff Nurse to a Deputy Nursing Manager of a 240-bed private hospital.


I returned to England in August 2018 and obtained my NMC pin by starting as a pre-registered nurse, completing the required English test, Nursing test and OSCE. I was lucky to be working within the Adult Social Care environment and was supported and mentored by my colleagues, and obtained my PIN in November 2018.

Following my successful enrolment with the NMC, I quickly worked my way up to becoming a Clinical Deputy Manager at a Care Home in London.


In 2022, I was chosen to be a Digital Champion for NCL. This role has allowed me to become involved in all the digital aspects of ASC and allowed me to share knowledge within our settings and obtain funding for the home to move from paper-based documents to digital technology.


On my days off, I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading a good book or just taking walks.


I am very committed to ensuring that our residents are at the centre of all that we do and are treated with care, dignity, and respect. I am always willing to listen to their concerns or just have a friendly chat.


I joined Cliveden Manor in March 2024 as a Clinical Deputy Manager. I completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management Programme in early 2025, and I was promoted from Clinical Deputy Manager to Clinical Home Manager in September 2025.

Nickisha Blake

Job Title: Clinical Deputy Manager Joined: 2023

Nickisha joined Cliveden Manor Care Home as a nurse in March 2023 and she was promoted to Nursing Care Manager in January 2024 and later promoted to Clinical Deputy Manager in September 2025.

Job Title: Client Liaison Manager Joined: 2020

I joined Avery Health Care in 2020. Initially, I worked in Ascot Grange Home and I transferred to Cliveden Manor in August 2023.


I have been in sales for most of my career.


I worked with those who were requiring support in the property market and wishing to downsize which comes with personal involvement.


Having had to research a care home for my mother-in-law, I realised that the role of Customer Liaison Manager was one that I wished to pursue.

I thoroughly enjoy working in this environment, helping to support those looking for care or a lifestyle change for their family, it is rewarding to get to know the residents in such lovely surroundings and with the dedicated staff.

I started my career as an administrator in a primary school in 2013, I moved to the care industry in 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Every day is different and I love the challenge it brings! Avery is a wonderful company to work for and I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to grow. Our values and ethos make the workplace a happy and thriving environment, which is something I hope to contribute to when recruiting for the home. In my role, I support Cliveden with finding the best team and making sure all our staff are happy and feel valued no matter what job they do. I hope the team feel they can approach me for anything, and my door is always open, even if I don’t know the answer to the question – I’ll always give it a go!

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager Joined: 2023

I joined Cliveden Manor as a Dementia Care Manager in September 2023.


I previously worked as the Registered Manager at a Residential Home in Oxfordshire.


I worked there for 10 years, working my way up from care assistant through various roles and I was in the role of manager for over 4 years.


I have worked in the elderly care sector since 2011 and I knew straight away that it was a career that I wanted to follow.


I particularly have a passion for working with those living with dementia and doing all I can to enrich their lives.
My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and sadly passed away 6 years later. Helping to care for her made me realise that it was something that I wanted to do.


Cliveden Manor is a lovely home with a great reputation and I enjoy supporting my residents, family members and team members.

Job Title: Residential Care Manager Joined: 2017

I joined Cliveden Manor in August 2017.


I started as a care supervisor and I worked my way up to Residential Care Manager in August 2023. I manage the Assisted Living Department at Cliveden Manor, and I support our General Manager and Deputy Manager with the management of the home.


I am driven by ensuring all our residents receive exceptional person-centred care, as the residents are my priority. As the Residential Care Manager, I work alongside a fantastic and committed team of carers who are equally passionate about the care we provide.

I have worked in the Hospitality Industry since 1979 within many different restaurant environments, delivering high standards of service. Cliveden Manor was my first experience in the care industry, I started here in 2018 and I haven’t looked back since! I find my role very enjoyable and rewarding. I like to meet different residents and listen to their comments and I endeavour to make sure myself and the team live up to their high expectations.

Job Title: Activities Manager

Having previously been accustomed to roles in the customer service and retail industry I joined the Signature family in Sept 2019. My knowledge and experience of community, charity and social events have been paramount to my objectives and ideas for our residents. I began my signature career as an Activities Assistant, achieving a Level 2 qualification in the principles of dementia care. I have now taken the role of Activities Supervisor supporting the activities team and working hard to introduce a wide range of fun activities and events to enhance the mental and physical well-being of the residents of Cliveden Manor. I am privileged to be part of an amazing team and to be able to work together to cultivate a stimulating and varied lifestyle for our residents.

I started as a Food & Beverage Assistant in 2015 and worked my way up to Restaurant Supervisor. Since then, I have been able to work with some amazing people, I’ve learnt so many new things and have created a lot of wonderful memories! My passion is ensuring the resident's needs are catered to and that they have a wonderful dining experience.


I see Cliveden Manor as a second home and feel very lucky to be amongst such a wonderful team.
