Staff are always very friendly towards both my mother in law and her family when they visit. If only the care home had air-conditioning it would make such a difference to the comfort of all.

Food is plentiful if you choose to eat well and if its not to your liking the kitchen will always accommodate special requests.

My husband has now been a resident for nearly 6 months. The care and attention he has received has been exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble, no matter how busy the staff are. They are without exception kind, thoughtful and hard working. They have become great friends and very much part of the family. Overall exceptional care. Thank you.

It was not an easy decision to move my mum to a care home but from the very first contact with Cliveden Manor, we felt supported and knew that this was the right place for mum. Louise, the manager, made the whole process stress-free and all the other staff have been wonderful in welcoming my mum and settling her in.
The newly refurbished room has everything she needs and is beautifully decorated and we have been able to include as many personal possessions as mum wanted and it feels like her own home.
The staff are friendly and caring and the atmosphere in the home is relaxed and warm.
The facilities are great with lots of activities which we hope mum will engage with in time and the food is excellent.

We know mum will be well looked after and safe.

I had six weeks convalescence at Cliveden Manor following a lengthy stay in hospital. On the first day everyone knew my name and I felt very welcome. Throughout my stay everyone was very kind and friendly. I was able to change rooms to make it easier for me to walk to the dining room. The food was always very good and help was always at hand to assist me. I needed physiothereapy and this was immediately available and really helped with my recovery. Although I was pleased to return home, I was very sad to leave but still feel part of the family with monthly visits.

Fromthe warm welcome on our arrival, right through to our leaving to go home, the staff were briliant, they could not have done more.
Make visually impaired residents aware at the beginning of the day, about the range of things/activities available in the day.
Improvements could be made catering for those with poor or no visual abilities. Most activities could not be undertaken by visually impaired residents.

Food - The actual served food fell short of the menu description! A bit 'over-sold'.

This place is like a breath from heaven. Having spent years dealing with my dad's health and having to resort to a care home, who could ask for more. Having doubted ourselves as to whether we can cope, I tried so hard to find the right place. Cliveden Manor is beyond my wildest dreams. Try as I might, I can't find anything that is not utterly perfect. We are so happy and relieved. Everyone is wonderful. Thank you so, so much. We have been saved.

My father recently moved into Cliveden Manor and the improvement in his wellbeing has been remarkable. He has settled quickly, looks healthier, and is clearly enjoying life. The activities programme is outstanding, with a full schedule of daily events and brilliant days out that he regularly takes part in. The team put real thought into keeping residents engaged and included.
The food is excellent, freshly prepared by a skilled kitchen team, and my father often comments on the quality. Staff throughout the home are warm, professional and genuinely caring, and the communication with families is always helpful and reassuring.

Cliveden Manor has given my father comfort, purpose and security, and I am very grateful for the care he receives. I would highly recommend the home.

My mother has made good progress since arriving from hospital. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. All staff are exceptionally nice, caring and supportive. The challenge seems to be response time to requesting support. Sometimes my mother can wait up to an hour for someone to attend to her call. Staff seem to be very busy and consideration should be given to the ratio of carers to residents.

Dad spent 5 very happy months here. He thrived on the easy and relaxed atmosphere and social interaction, and loved all the staff (clearly had his favourites, though!). The facilities are superb - it's great to be able to enjoy a coffee together in the cafe, or a meal in the restaurant. The whole team were easy to interact with throughout - thoughtful, caring and patient, even through difficult times. It comforted the family greatly to know that Dad was so comfortable and happy here.

My mother arrived at Cliveden with very short notice. She came straight from hospital after surgery at the age of 101 and she was treated with great kindness and dignity. She was assessed and all her many needs were met without fuss.
The administrative staff were very friendly and obliging which made everything easier for us as a family.
The atmosphere was relaxed and grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were able to visit.
Despite lack of mobility hairdressing and mancure/pedicure were provided.

Parking and visiting presented no problems and we could always get a coffee.

My friend has been living in Cliveden Manor for a year. He gets fantastic care by the committed staff. It seems to me that everyone, staff and residents alike are happy to be there. Karen HolmesJob Title:Clinical Home ManagerJoined: 2024

I was born in Sunderland; however, my family emigrated to South Africa when I was a child, but I never forgot my roots and always knew I would return one day. I just didn’t know it would take me so long.

I completed my schooling and I enrolled on nursing. I qualified as a general Nurse, working a lot in the elderly people’s wards. After a few years, I transferred to paediatrics and ultimately settled in the Critical care units.

In 1990, I continued my training by specialising in Medical and Surgical Critical care with a speciality in Cardio-thoracic nursing. During my nursing career, I worked my way up from a Staff Nurse to a Deputy Nursing Manager of a 240-bed private hospital.

I returned to England in August 2018 and obtained my NMC pin by starting as a pre-registered nurse, completing the required English test, Nursing test and OSCE. I was lucky to be working within the Adult Social Care environment and was supported and mentored by my colleagues, and obtained my PIN in November 2018.

Following my successful enrolment with the NMC, I quickly worked my way up to becoming a Clinical Deputy Manager at a Care Home in London.

In 2022, I was chosen to be a Digital Champion for NCL. This role has allowed me to become involved in all the digital aspects of ASC and allowed me to share knowledge within our settings and obtain funding for the home to move from paper-based documents to digital technology.

On my days off, I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading a good book or just taking walks.

I am very committed to ensuring that our residents are at the centre of all that we do and are treated with care, dignity, and respect. I am always willing to listen to their concerns or just have a friendly chat.

I joined Cliveden Manor in March 2024 as a Clinical Deputy Manager. I completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management Programme in early 2025, and I was promoted from Clinical Deputy Manager to Clinical Home Manager in September 2025.

Louise PalmerJob Title:Client Liaison ManagerJoined: 2020

I joined Avery Health Care in 2020. Initially, I worked in Ascot Grange Home and I transferred to Cliveden Manor in August 2023.

I have been in sales for most of my career.

I worked with those who were requiring support in the property market and wishing to downsize which comes with personal involvement.

Having had to research a care home for my mother-in-law, I realised that the role of Customer Liaison Manager was one that I wished to pursue.

I thoroughly enjoy working in this environment, helping to support those looking for care or a lifestyle change for their family, it is rewarding to get to know the residents in such lovely surroundings and with the dedicated staff.

Sam Monk
Sam MonkJob Title:Business Administrator

I started my career as an administrator in a primary school in 2013, I moved to the care industry in 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Every day is different and I love the challenge it brings! Avery is a wonderful company to work for and I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to grow. Our values and ethos make the workplace a happy and thriving environment, which is something I hope to contribute to when recruiting for the home. In my role, I support Cliveden with finding the best team and making sure all our staff are happy and feel valued no matter what job they do. I hope the team feel they can approach me for anything, and my door is always open, even if I don’t know the answer to the question – I’ll always give it a go!

I joined Cliveden Manor as a Dementia Care Manager in September 2023.

I previously worked as the Registered Manager at a Residential Home in Oxfordshire.

I worked there for 10 years, working my way up from care assistant through various roles and I was in the role of manager for over 4 years.

I have worked in the elderly care sector since 2011 and I knew straight away that it was a career that I wanted to follow.

I particularly have a passion for working with those living with dementia and doing all I can to enrich their lives.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and sadly passed away 6 years later. Helping to care for her made me realise that it was something that I wanted to do.

Cliveden Manor is a lovely home with a great reputation and I enjoy supporting my residents, family members and team members.
