Finding a suitable setting where both my parents could be together whilst having their individual needs met was difficult, however, we've found it at Cliveden Manor. From the first day, the staff have been exemplary. They are kind and compassionate and always take their thoughts and needs into account.
The high-level, well-trained staff know each resident well, and there is an overall feeling of a well-run top hotel rather than a care home. The rooms and decor are beautiful, and the on-site restaurant is absolutely fantastic. There is a very well organised activities programme that caters for all interests and hobbies. The staff always make us feel welcome and one of the family. We've seen a huge difference in my parents. The worry of looking after themselves, cooking, cleaning and coping with the demands of each day has lifted, and they can now relax and be looked after. I sleep well at night, knowing they are both safe and happy. I would recommend Cliveden Manor without hesitation.

Having recently lost her husband and life partner, and Mum entered Signature at Cliveden Manor in a very low place. She was very, very sad and grieving. She took out that loneliness and despondency on everyone who tried to help her.
Undeterred, the well-trained, multi-disciplinary team worked seamlessly
together to love and care for Mum. Despite her brushing them off at best or being rather rude at worst, the caring staff ensured she kept her dignity and made her own decisions. Slowly, over several months, through daily ups and downs, progress was made. Today Mum had her hair done and went down to the restaurant to show off her new look, something completely impossible to imagine a few months ago.
The care didn’t stop with Mum; her grief and the need for admission were traumatic for our whole family. I will always be humbled by the support and understanding extended to my entire family.
Words aren’t quite enough, but thank you, everyone, at ‘the Manor’.

My friend came to Cliveden Manor for rehab, and the provision has been outstanding. It is the "little things" and small touches that have made the difference. I have seen how happy she has been. All interactions with staff have been positive and professional, and there is always a calm and warm atmosphere.

Both my parents have been residents at Cliveden Manor for several years, however, my mother sadly passed away there last August. Since then it feels as though my father has been wrapped in love and compassion by the beautiful staff in the Willows. They have made sure that the loss of his wife has not
prevented him from living his (albeit restricted) life to the full. There is an amazing core group of consistent Willows staff whose care for my father is truly inspirational. I have really got to know many of them over the last few years and the support they gave me and my sister when my mother passed was truly over and above what we could have expected.
Whenever I arrive to visit my father I feel as though I'm going around to a friend's house, such is the cheery welcome I receive from everyone. All of his medical, physical and emotional needs are met with true professionalism and warmth and he would be a lost soul if he wasn't there.

We knew of Cliveden from other relatives cared for there, so had no hesitation in asking for a convalescent place when Mum broke her hip. Despite changing medical needs, Cliveden clinical and care staff accommodated what was needed. Mum has now decided to stay, as she appreciates the care and activities,
and managers have been accommodating in arranging for her own furniture, pictures and ornaments in a room she likes the location of. A few teething problems were efficiently dealt with. Cliveden has gone beyond the excellent hotel, caring and medical support to arrange many interesting activities, including accommodating specific cultural and religious preferences, e.g. a family meal in the private dining room for a festival and arranging a special baking activity for festival food. While the transition has been difficult for all, as Mum would have preferred to return home, she realises the benefits of Cliveden, and we are reassured she is well cared for by knowledgable, caring, professional staff.

It was such a relief to know Mum was somewhere where she had extra help with medicines and nursing care. She enjoyed the activities and the entertainment and made new friends even in her mid-nineties.
The dining room always looked welcoming, with crisp white tablecloths and flowers, and she enjoyed
the food.
Her apartment was nicely decorated, and the maintenance people responded quickly to any requests re-putting up pictures or checking her remote control.

My father moved to Signature Cliveden Manor in April 2022. He is a frail man who does not like change. However, after a period of settling in, he is safe, warm and well cared for, by a patient and understanding team. All members of the staff at Cliveden are open and available to answer our questions,
and concerns and consider our requests. They are also willing to flex to his needs - including his desire to eat in his room rather than in the restaurant. The facilities at Cliveden are first-class - with an array of activities that I only wish Dad would embrace more. He is missing out by not joining in, but the team understand that Dad is content doing his own thing and after a period of cajoling, has recognised that his being happy in what he does is a success. A very welcoming and warm environment. All the staff seem to genuinely care about the residents and their needs. It's rare to walk past anyone who doesn't greet you and my dad is always spoken to by name, despite there being many residents and a large and enthusiastic support team. An exceptional home,
in my experience, for the diverse range of activities that are on offer. My dad has been far and wide in the area, as well as being engaged in activities within the home. He can be rather withdrawn but gentle encouragement has seen him try out surprising experiences. Having lost his wife, my mother, over 6 years ago, Dad had always asserted that a care home would not be for him. It is a testament to this one that he trialled it and stayed! It's a pleasure to go there and visit my dad.

Excellent service and brilliant communication when organising my mum's stay in Signature Cliveden Manor Care Home. Very friendly staff and always greeted with a smile and very polite.
Great activities organised each day/week.
Wonderful facilities within the home and the apartment is a nice size
too.

My friend moved into Cliveden Manor at the end of November 2022 due to a decline in his memory and the loss of ability to manage some household tasks like cooking. Living at Cliveden has taken all the anxiety away for him and for his friends, as he is fed by the excellent restaurant, has his laundry
managed for him, and doesn't have to manage his bills or other household admin, everything is included. This means so much to his friends, who have been his support network. The staff seem wonderfully caring and are always available to answer my questions (my friend is not a reliable narrator!). They do their best to encourage my friend to join in the activities, but that isn't really his thing, so he is missing out on that aspect of life at Cliveden. Ultimately, I trust that my friend is in safe hands and is comfortable and as content as possible in the circumstances. I am grateful too that he will not have to move again when the dementia worsens and can transition to Willows.

Due to an unfortunate accident just before Christmas, I found myself with a badly broken leg. My husband, who is 77 years old, did his best to care for me at home, but we quickly came to the conclusion that we both needed time to recover once I was discharged from the hospital post-operation.
Cliveden
Manor did their utmost to accommodate a two-week respite package at very short notice. The staff were excellent - very professional and friendly. I felt incredibly well looked after. The stay in the home gave me the time and space I needed to regain my strength and confidence, and at the same time, my husband could relax knowing I was being well taken care of. I would not hesitate to recommend Cliveden Manor.

My dad came to Cliveden Manor for respite care in December. He felt welcome from the start and found his routine. Our aim was to eventually move him nearer to us long term. He has genuinely enjoyed the company and activities. He is a social chap and has found the environment excellent and the facilities
second to none. I would recommend Cliveden Manor to anyone seeking a happy, secure and welcoming place for their loved ones. I now feel Dad is in the best place and well looked after.

We visited Cliveden House with a view to taking one of the De-Lux 1-bedroom apartments for our mother. Cliveden Manor is a beautiful purpose-built residential home with all the facilities anyone could possibly want. The manager was very helpful and accommodating and went above and beyond to assist us
with our decision-making. Every team member we met was very polite and friendly. I would recommend Cliveden House to anyone looking to find a place for their loved ones.

Our father moved into Cliveden Manor in September after breaking his hip during a fall. He chose the home himself as a friend of his from his road had enjoyed being there. He has a lovely, light and airy room, with a view over the garden and bird feeders which attract some of the birds we all enjoy
watching, such as blue tits and coal tits. It has been great for him to have physiotherapy on hand, and it has hugely helped with his rehabilitation. Everyone at Cliveden has been very kind to him, and he has been encouraged to join in with some of the activities, which he was at first reluctant to do, such as the art class. He now loves going along to this and having his work displayed in reception. Covid had made him less sociable than he used to be, but he is now walking to the dining room with his rollator and usually sitting with others and chatting a bit. We hope that he will do more of this over time. We would certainly recommend Cliveden to potential residents.

We would like to thank all the staff at Cliveden Manor for helping our mother settle in so quickly since moving there at the end of August. We have been impressed with how helpful all the staff are, even down to helping us move in her furniture! There is a good range of activities that she is enjoying,
and not having to cook or do her own laundry is a big bonus. Although our mother does not currently require the care package, it is reassuring for us all that she is in a safe environment and that care is available as and when she needs it. Her local friends enjoy meeting her at Cliveden Manor so she can maintain her social life as well.

My mother has been a resident at Cliveden Manor since January 2022 in the assisted living part of the home. Mum originally came for respite-type care as she had badly broken her ankle and was unable to walk. She has recently moved to "The Willows", the specialist dementia area. My father still lives
in his home and visits my mum/his wife most days. We chose this care home primarily due to its close proximity to both our homes and also because the home offered a range of services so we could future-proof Mum's care as her dementia progressed. Although there have been a few bumps in the road, overall, these have been managed quickly and effectively. Overall, the staff are extremely warm and caring and have made the effort to get to know my mum. The rooms are nicely appointed and spacious. The home has been so welcoming and kind to my father. They almost treat him like he is a resident too, and ensure that they spend quality time together whenever they can. We are extremely grateful.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My grandmother moved into Cliveden Manor just over two months ago after a six-week stay in Hospital. She was apprehensive and nervous about moving and leaving her own home, it was a huge change for her, but she has settled in so well. From the moment we made the enquiry, through to her moving in, and
even up to today, my family have felt supported. Nan has thrown herself into life at Cliveden and really feels part of the community. She enjoys the activities and entertainment, but most of all, she is enjoying the companionship of others. The staff are great with my nan and have really made her feel at home.

Karen Holmes

Job Title: Clinical Home Manager Joined: 2024

I was born in Sunderland; however, my family emigrated to South Africa when I was a child, but I never forgot my roots and always knew I would return one day. I just didn’t know it would take me so long.


I completed my schooling and I enrolled on nursing. I qualified as a general Nurse, working a lot in the elderly people’s wards. After a few years, I transferred to paediatrics and ultimately settled in the Critical care units.


In 1990, I continued my training by specialising in Medical and Surgical Critical care with a speciality in Cardio-thoracic nursing. During my nursing career, I worked my way up from a Staff Nurse to a Deputy Nursing Manager of a 240-bed private hospital.


I returned to England in August 2018 and obtained my NMC pin by starting as a pre-registered nurse, completing the required English test, Nursing test and OSCE. I was lucky to be working within the Adult Social Care environment and was supported and mentored by my colleagues, and obtained my PIN in November 2018.

Following my successful enrolment with the NMC, I quickly worked my way up to becoming a Clinical Deputy Manager at a Care Home in London.


In 2022, I was chosen to be a Digital Champion for NCL. This role has allowed me to become involved in all the digital aspects of ASC and allowed me to share knowledge within our settings and obtain funding for the home to move from paper-based documents to digital technology.


On my days off, I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading a good book or just taking walks.


I am very committed to ensuring that our residents are at the centre of all that we do and are treated with care, dignity, and respect. I am always willing to listen to their concerns or just have a friendly chat.


I joined Cliveden Manor in March 2024 as a Clinical Deputy Manager. I completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management Programme in early 2025, and I was promoted from Clinical Deputy Manager to Clinical Home Manager in September 2025.

Nickisha joined Cliveden Manor Care Home as a nurse in March 2023 and she was promoted to Nursing Care Manager in January 2024 and later promoted to Clinical Deputy Manager in September 2025.

I joined Avery Health Care in 2020. Initially, I worked in Ascot Grange Home and I transferred to Cliveden Manor in August 2023.


I have been in sales for most of my career.


I worked with those who were requiring support in the property market and wishing to downsize which comes with personal involvement.


Having had to research a care home for my mother-in-law, I realised that the role of Customer Liaison Manager was one that I wished to pursue.

I thoroughly enjoy working in this environment, helping to support those looking for care or a lifestyle change for their family, it is rewarding to get to know the residents in such lovely surroundings and with the dedicated staff.

I started my career as an administrator in a primary school in 2013, I moved to the care industry in 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Every day is different and I love the challenge it brings! I joined Cliveden Manor as a Dementia Care Manager in September 2023.


I previously worked as the Registered Manager at a Residential Home in Oxfordshire.


I worked there for 10 years, working my way up from care assistant through various roles and I was in the role of manager for over 4 years.


I have worked in the elderly care sector since 2011 and I knew straight away that it was a career that I wanted to follow.


I particularly have a passion for working with those living with dementia and doing all I can to enrich their lives.
My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and sadly passed away 6 years later. Helping to care for her made me realise that it was something that I wanted to do.


Cliveden Manor is a lovely home with a great reputation and I enjoy supporting my residents, family members and team members.

I joined Cliveden Manor in August 2017.


I started as a care supervisor and I worked my way up to Residential Care Manager in August 2023. I manage the Assisted Living Department at Cliveden Manor, and I support our General Manager and Deputy Manager with the management of the home.


I am driven by ensuring all our residents receive exceptional person-centred care, as the residents are my priority. As the Residential Care Manager, I work alongside a fantastic and committed team of carers who are equally passionate about the care we provide.

I like to meet different residents and listen to their comments and I endeavour to make sure myself and the team live up to their high expectations.

Having previously been accustomed to roles in the customer service and retail industry I joined the Signature family in Sept 2019. My knowledge and experience of community, charity and social events have been paramount to my objectives and ideas for our residents. I began my signature career as an Activities Assistant, achieving a Level 2 qualification in the principles of dementia care. I have now taken the role of Activities Supervisor supporting the activities team and working hard to introduce a wide range of fun activities and events to enhance the mental and physical well-being of the residents of Cliveden Manor. I am privileged to be part of an amazing team and to be able to work together to cultivate a stimulating and varied lifestyle for our residents.
