Overall Experience

My friend moved into Cliveden Manor at the end of November 2022 due to a decline in his memory and the loss of ability to manage some household tasks like cooking. Living at Cliveden has taken all the anxiety away for him and for his friends, as he is fed by the excellent restaurant, has his laundry managed for him, and doesn't have to manage his bills or other household admin, everything is included. This means so much to his friends, who have been his support network. The staff seem wonderfully caring and are always available to answer my questions (my friend is not a reliable narrator!). They do their best to encourage my friend to join in the activities, but that isn't really his thing, so he is missing out on that aspect of life at Cliveden. Ultimately, I trust that my friend is in safe hands and is comfortable and as content as possible in the circumstances. I am grateful too that he will not have to move again when the dementia worsens and can transition to Willows.

Due to an unfortunate accident just before Christmas, I found myself with a badly broken leg. My husband, who is 77 years old, did his best to care for me at home, but we quickly came to the conclusion that we both needed time to recover once I was discharged from the hospital post-operation.

Cliveden Manor did their utmost to accommodate a two-week respite package at very short notice. The staff were excellent - very professional and friendly. I felt incredibly well looked after. The stay in the home gave me the time and space I needed to regain my strength and confidence, and at the same time, my husband could relax knowing I was being well taken care of. I would not hesitate to recommend Cliveden Manor.

My dad came to Cliveden Manor for respite care in December. He felt welcome from the start and found his routine. Our aim was to eventually move him nearer to us long term. He has genuinely enjoyed the company and activities. He is a social chap and has found the environment excellent and the facilities second to none. I would recommend Cliveden Manor to anyone seeking a happy, secure and welcoming place for their loved ones. I now feel Dad is in the best place and well looked after.

We visited Cliveden House with a view to taking one of the De-Lux 1-bedroom apartments for our mother. Cliveden Manor is a beautiful purpose-built residential home with all the facilities anyone could possibly want. The manager was very helpful and accommodating and went above and beyond to assist us with our decision-making. Every team member we met was very polite and friendly. I would recommend Cliveden House to anyone looking to find a place for their loved ones.

Our father moved into Cliveden Manor in September after breaking his hip during a fall. He chose the home himself as a friend of his from his road had enjoyed being there. He has a lovely, light and airy room, with a view over the garden and bird feeders which attract some of the birds we all enjoy watching, such as blue tits and coal tits. It has been great for him to have physiotherapy on hand, and it has hugely helped with his rehabilitation. Everyone at Cliveden has been very kind to him, and he has been encouraged to join in with some of the activities, which he was at first reluctant to do, such as the art class. He now loves going along to this and having his work displayed in reception. Covid had made him less sociable than he used to be, but he is now walking to the dining room with his rollator and usually sitting with others and chatting a bit. We hope that he will do more of this over time. We would certainly recommend Cliveden to potential residents.

We would like to thank all the staff at Cliveden Manor for helping our mother settle in so quickly since moving there at the end of August. We have been impressed with how helpful all the staff are, even down to helping us move in her furniture! There is a good range of activities that she is enjoying, and not having to cook or do her own laundry is a big bonus. Although our mother does not currently require the care package, it is reassuring for us all that she is in a safe environment and that care is available as and when she needs it. Her local friends enjoy meeting her at Cliveden Manor so she can maintain her social life as well.

My mother has been a resident at Cliveden Manor since January 2022 in the assisted living part of the home. Mum originally came for respite-type care as she had badly broken her ankle and was unable to walk. She has recently moved to "The Willows", the specialist dementia area. My father still lives in his home and visits my mum/his wife most days. We chose this care home primarily due to its close proximity to both our homes and also because the home offered a range of services so we could future-proof Mum's care as her dementia progressed. Although there have been a few bumps in the road, overall, these have been managed quickly and effectively. Overall, the staff are extremely warm and caring and have made the effort to get to know my mum. The rooms are nicely appointed and spacious. The home has been so welcoming and kind to my father. They almost treat him like he is a resident too, and ensure that they spend quality time together whenever they can. We are extremely grateful.

My grandmother moved into Cliveden Manor just over two months ago after a six-week stay in Hospital. She was apprehensive and nervous about moving and leaving her own home, it was a huge change for her, but she has settled in so well. From the moment we made the enquiry, through to her moving in, and even up to today, my family have felt supported. Nan has thrown herself into life at Cliveden and really feels part of the community. She enjoys the activities and entertainment, but most of all, she is enjoying the companionship of others. The staff are great with my nan and have really made her feel at home.

My great aunt moved into Cliveden Manor last May following a fall and a short stay in hospital. We chose the home as the building and rooms are very nice, and all the staff were very friendly and efficient. I can honestly say the care my 96-year-old aunt has received has been amazing and exceeded my expectations. She is so happy there - her health has improved, and she has said on several occasions she wishes she had moved there sooner! I would highly recommend the care home.

My mother moved in to Clivedon last month after being in hospital for 7 weeks and going home no longer being an option due to health reasons and needing nursing care. Her room is lovely and after adding some personal items from home is now very much her own space and she is very comfortable. The staff are all welcoming and kind, very quick to respond to any queries or requests. The food is very good and after the long stay in hospital it is great to see mum regaining her appetite and looking forward to meal times. She has enjoyed the entertainment and the nail pampering, also being able to visit the on-site hair salon weekly is lovely. She has quickly made friends with other residents and is now feeling very settled. We visit her often but it is great to know that she is safe and well cared for at all times and also that she is happy and enjoying life.

Mum has been with Cliveden in dementia wing - The Willows - for 2 years and we are sadly having to move her for purely practical reasons.
The whole family has been treated exceptionally well at all times and I cannot flaw the professionalism and kind, caring approach all staff have shown to mum at all times.
Mum had to go in alone, due to the first lockdown, and the staff were so patient and kind to her and all her family.
I have since been able to visit many times and have found nothing short of a fantastic professional attitude from everyone- carers, reception, management etc - along with an emotionally intelligent approach by all the staff.
Everyone has been happy to help out at all times, and carers have always shown a warm, sunny nature with nothing being too much trouble.

The food served is nutritious and activities put on diverse and fun. I will always remember Mum dancing to old favourites with the young, talented dancer who comes to help brighten resident days!

I have been in the care home for a fortnight and find the staff and residents friendly, making a happy atmosphere. I find my apartment very comfortable and beautiful. The service is excellent, and the meals are wonderful and very enjoyable. The apartment is kept very clean and hovered frequently. The bed linen and duvets are changed every week, which is nice. I think it is wonderful having the activities each day and the advantage of having a hair salon which is very helpful indeed.

The team at Cliveden Manor were very helpful in arranging for our godmother to be admitted with good advice and guidance. We were really stepping into the unknown and very much appreciated the suggestions made and all the help and support.
The home is very impressive, with lovely rooms, spotlessly clean, and our godmother appreciates the food very much. We had a very nice birthday coffee morning and were very touched by the thoughtful gift the home gave our godmother. All the staff are friendly and approachable. We have faced some challenges due to our godmother's health, but they have dealt with it really well. In her words, she is 'not a joiner', so is perhaps missing out on an impressive range of activities, but she is safe and comfortable, and above all, near her family, and we are always warmly welcomed when we visit.

Of course, there are minor niggles as with anything new, but we find the communication easy with the team, and they are very quick to respond.

Cliveden Manor is a lively, outward-looking establishment. The permanent staff constitute a group of happy and helpful professionals ranging from administration, activities, housekeeping, restaurant, carers and medical staff. As a new resident, I recognised an environment which was significantly different from that to which I had been accustomed, but with the help of the friendly staff and fellow residents, I felt progressively ‘at home’.

We have been guided from the very beginning, by the staff, in what could have been a very stressful decision making time for our father. We feel confident we made the right decision as our father has settled in so well.
We are greeted by name and given a handover of what our father has been doing when we visit. It reassures us he is happy.
A weight has been lifted off our shoulders as he gets the care equivalent to what we were giving as his daughters.

Our father is happy and safe, we can't ask for more than that.

After my dad died and my mum decided she no longer felt comfortable living at home on her own and moving into a care home seemed the best option. When she moved into Cliveden Manor, the staff went out of their way to make sure she felt welcome and at home. All the staff are kind, helpful and always keen to understand Mum's individual needs. She now has lots of new hobbies, has made many new friends and is enjoying a new lease of life. We are very pleased with our choice of Cliveden Manor.

After a year of mental and physical decline, my fiercely independent mother agreed to a trial month in Cliveden Manor while my wife and I took a trip. After some initial confusion and reticence to leave her room, she started to relax, socialise, dine with other residents and enjoy life again. Returning to the UK, we fully expected her to be standing at the door, bags packed, demanding to be taken home, but no, to our amazement and wonder she instructed us that she intended to stay at Cliveden. This is a testament to the care she has had from the Cliveden team, coupled with her realisation that living on her own at home is no longer viable for her and, frankly, less interesting and much more challenging than Cliveden. We now visit and socialise with her, confident that her safety and care needs are met 24/7. So, thank you, everyone, at Cliveden.

I was born in Sunderland; however, my family emigrated to South Africa when I was a child, but I never forgot my roots and always knew I would return one day. I just didn’t know it would take me so long.

I completed my schooling and I enrolled on nursing. I qualified as a general Nurse, working a lot in the elderly people’s wards. After a few years, I transferred to paediatrics and ultimately settled in the Critical care units.

In 1990, I continued my training by specialising in Medical and Surgical Critical care with a speciality in Cardio-thoracic nursing. During my nursing career, I worked my way up from a Staff Nurse to a Deputy Nursing Manager of a 240-bed private hospital.

I returned to England in August 2018 and obtained my NMC pin by starting as a pre-registered nurse, completing the required English test, Nursing test and OSCE. I was lucky to be working within the Adult Social Care environment and was supported and mentored by my colleagues, and obtained my PIN in November 2018.

Following my successful enrolment with the NMC, I quickly worked my way up to becoming a Clinical Deputy Manager at a Care Home in London.

In 2022, I was chosen to be a Digital Champion for NCL. This role has allowed me to become involved in all the digital aspects of ASC and allowed me to share knowledge within our settings and obtain funding for the home to move from paper-based documents to digital technology.

On my days off, I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading a good book or just taking walks.

I am very committed to ensuring that our residents are at the centre of all that we do and are treated with care, dignity, and respect. I am always willing to listen to their concerns or just have a friendly chat.

I joined Cliveden Manor in March 2024 as a Clinical Deputy Manager. I completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management Programme in early 2025, and I was promoted from Clinical Deputy Manager to Clinical Home Manager in September 2025.

I joined Avery Health Care in 2020. Initially, I worked in Ascot Grange Home and I transferred to Cliveden Manor in August 2023.

I have been in sales for most of my career.

I worked with those who were requiring support in the property market and wishing to downsize which comes with personal involvement.

Having had to research a care home for my mother-in-law, I realised that the role of Customer Liaison Manager was one that I wished to pursue.

I thoroughly enjoy working in this environment, helping to support those looking for care or a lifestyle change for their family, it is rewarding to get to know the residents in such lovely surroundings and with the dedicated staff.

I started my career as an administrator in a primary school in 2013, I moved to the care industry in 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Every day is different and I love the challenge it brings! Avery is a wonderful company to work for and I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to grow. Our values and ethos make the workplace a happy and thriving environment, which is something I hope to contribute to when recruiting for the home. In my role, I support Cliveden with finding the best team and making sure all our staff are happy and feel valued no matter what job they do. I hope the team feel they can approach me for anything, and my door is always open, even if I don’t know the answer to the question – I’ll always give it a go!

I previously worked as the Registered Manager at a Residential Home in Oxfordshire.

I worked there for 10 years, working my way up from care assistant through various roles and I was in the role of manager for over 4 years.

I have worked in the elderly care sector since 2011 and I knew straight away that it was a career that I wanted to follow.

I particularly have a passion for working with those living with dementia and doing all I can to enrich their lives.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and sadly passed away 6 years later. Helping to care for her made me realise that it was something that I wanted to do.

Cliveden Manor is a lovely home with a great reputation and I enjoy supporting my residents, family members and team members.

I like to meet different residents and listen to their comments and I endeavour to make sure myself and the team live up to their high expectations.

Having previously been accustomed to roles in the customer service and retail industry I joined the Signature family in Sept 2019. My knowledge and experience of community, charity and social events have been paramount to my objectives and ideas for our residents. I began my signature career as an Activities Assistant, achieving a Level 2 qualification in the principles of dementia care. I have now taken the role of Activities Supervisor supporting the activities team and working hard to introduce a wide range of fun activities and events to enhance the mental and physical well-being of the residents of Cliveden Manor. I am privileged to be part of an amazing team and to be able to work together to cultivate a stimulating and varied lifestyle for our residents.
