Cliveden Manor Care Home provided a life-saving care environment at short notice for my elderly father at a time of great need. The facilities, care and support that he received were exceptional and allowed the family to focus on my father in his time of most need. I will be forever grateful to the

My mother lived at Cliveden Manor Avery Collection for 20 months. She was so happy there. She loved the carers and staff and felt safe and well cared for. The staff are exceptional and could not have done more for Mum, professional, respectful and so very caring.
The whole atmosphere at Cliveden
Manor is just lovely, staff, music, flowers, and immaculately clean. Mum enjoyed the food and loved her home. A few weeks after she moved in, she said to me 'Don't worry I will never be lonely here'. We, as her family were given a warm welcome whenever we visited too. We were blessed she spent her last months in such a warm and safe place. I cannot speak highly enough. Thank you.

I have been a resident at Cliveden Manor for five months recuperating following two weeks in hospital with heart failure and a build-up of fluid in my body. I arrived by ambulance on 13th December 2023 and was welcomed by all of the management team and carers both friendly. Everyone at Cliveden Manor
has been very helpful and kind to me. By choice I have enjoyed excellent meals, gained weight, and have been happy here.

Mum is a relatively new resident and was understandably very apprehensive and nervous about leaving her home. The team at Cliveden Manor couldn't have done more to help and support both Mum and myself throughout the whole process of moving. Mum is settling in really well; says that she feels safe, meeting
other residents, enjoying a lovely variety of meals and joining activities. It's such a pleasure to visit her in such a warm, comfortable and welcoming environment. A huge 'thank you' to all the staff for their care, kindness and friendly greetings.

My mother was a resident at Clivenden for the last 2 years. During this time, I found all staff very helpful and provided is high level of care to my mother.
I found that if I had any issues or problems, they were resolved promptly with the best interests of my mother served.
I wouldn't hesitate to

As a visitor it is a pleasant hotel-like experience as you enter the building, which remains throughout the communal areas and private rooms. Receptionists and staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Being able to visit the café and make drinks at any time is excellent. Outside place/areas for sitting
are excellent, as is the linear garden experience. Vehicle parking is an issue. Two things here: first, there weren't enough spaces and it's very tight in the underground parking. Second, there was a vehicle (car) parked outside the front with two wheels on the pavement. This isn't a one off situation, but has happened numerous times over my visits - more or less every time. Obviously if this is allowed you can't get past with a wheelchair.

My wife stayed here while I was away. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was first class and she got involved in a number of activities. Thank you for looking after my mother. When I enter the reception and approach the welcoming desk there are too many objects on the desk. You can only just see the receptionist. I understand the raffle tickets, which will only be for a short time, but the 'review us' requests and staff recognition forms
dominate the desk. Perhaps put them out of the way, but put a little note asking if the customer would like to leave a review, then the receptionists can give them a form?

When my father-in-law moved into Willows, it was clear that he would be receiving top-class care. Before he moved in, we were concerned about the state of his health, but thanks to the fantastic care and attention he has received from all the staff, he has been living a fulfilling life. His carers took
the time to speak to our family to find out about his life and to get to know him well. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, always professional and attentive, and treat residents with dignity, respect and genuine affection. There are many activities organised, plenty of entertainment and trips to local attractions. The catering is excellent, and there is always a wide range of healthy meals on offer, along with regular tea and cake, which he will never say no to! All the staff at Cliveden Manor are delightful, but we would particularly like to thank the amazingly committed Willows staff for the incredible work they do to support our loved ones; it is truly appreciated.

Mum moved into Cliveden Manor in September 2022. Moving into a care home was a huge change for Mum who had enjoyed living independently into her 93rd year. The team at Cliveden Manor ensured Mum was given appropriate support, care and reassurance as she adjusted to living in the care home community.
Mum is thriving in her new home, she has become very fond of the team who look after her. She enjoys the extensive activities daily and has made many new friends in her new 'village'.
Mum had a minor setback in January, unfortunately falling and breaking her wrist when she forgot to use her walking frame. After being discharged from hospital she returned to Cliveden Manor. The care and support that was provided to Mum was exceptional and is testament to her making a full recovery.

I spent three weeks at Cliveden Manor while recuperating from a hip replacement operation. For me, this was weeks 3, 4 and 5, when I was past the very early stage but still needed quite a lot of help.
I couldn't have made a better choice. The whole place with its lovely decor is a pleasure to be in.
I had a beautiful room with a separate bedroom, and I was even provided with a desk so that I could carry on my normal 'working from home' activity.
The staff were wonderful, immediately knowing me by name and constantly checking that all was well, in addition to providing whatever help I needed. They always called in to offer a choice of 'meal in your room' or 'in the dining room', and I noted that they kept a check to make sure that all residents had eaten. I was really impressed by how kind they were, not only to me but with a loving attitude to all of the very elderly people, who were helped into the dining room and coffee spaces.
Can wholeheartedly recommend.

I have been at Cliveden Manor for two weeks by way of researching a permanent home for my wife and I. My mother moved into Cliveden Manor - to the Willows dementia wing - in February, and we've been overwhelmed with how brilliant the experience has been. From our very first meeting there to the day we moved Mum in, everybody at the home has been so supportive and helpful.
The home itself is beautiful,
and great care has been taken with the decor and all the facilities - from the library, coffee shop, bistro and spa - it's all lovely, homely and luxurious. The catering is of an incredibly high standard - my mum has diabetes, and they take great care to prepare suitable meals for her.
The best part of Cliveden Manor, however, is the team that works there. They put some much love and care into their jobs and into the residents. From the outset, Mum has been welcomed and cared for so well that the transition has been made much easier than we ever could have hoped. This care also extends to family; we equally feel supported through this difficult time.
Can't recommend it highly enough.

Cliveden care home is a five-star care home. All staff are very professional and extremely helpful. Nothing is any problem. My mum has been a resident for nearly four years, up on the Willows and is looked after with so much care and dignity.

Karen

Karen Holmes

Job Title: Clinical Home Manager Joined: 2024

I was born in Sunderland; however, my family emigrated to South Africa when I was a child, but I never forgot my roots and always knew I would return one day. I just didn’t know it would take me so long.


I completed my schooling and I enrolled on nursing. I qualified as a general Nurse, working a lot in the elderly people’s wards. After a few years, I transferred to paediatrics and ultimately settled in the Critical care units.


In 1990, I continued my training by specialising in Medical and Surgical Critical care with a speciality in Cardio-thoracic nursing. During my nursing career, I worked my way up from a Staff Nurse to a Deputy Nursing Manager of a 240-bed private hospital.


I returned to England in August 2018 and obtained my NMC pin by starting as a pre-registered nurse, completing the required English test, Nursing test and OSCE. I was lucky to be working within the Adult Social Care environment and was supported and mentored by my colleagues, and obtained my PIN in November 2018.

Following my successful enrolment with the NMC, I quickly worked my way up to becoming a Clinical Deputy Manager at a Care Home in London.


In 2022, I was chosen to be a Digital Champion for NCL. This role has allowed me to become involved in all the digital aspects of ASC and allowed me to share knowledge within our settings and obtain funding for the home to move from paper-based documents to digital technology.


On my days off, I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading a good book or just taking walks.


I am very committed to ensuring that our residents are at the centre of all that we do and are treated with care, dignity, and respect. I am always willing to listen to their concerns or just have a friendly chat.


I joined Cliveden Manor in March 2024 as a Clinical Deputy Manager. I completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management Programme in early 2025, and I was promoted from Clinical Deputy Manager to Clinical Home Manager in September 2025.

Nickisha Blake

Nickisha joined Cliveden Manor Care Home as a nurse in March 2023 and she was promoted to Nursing Care Manager in January 2024 and later promoted to Clinical Deputy Manager in September 2025.

I joined Avery Health Care in 2020. Initially, I worked in Ascot Grange Home and I transferred to Cliveden Manor in August 2023.


I have been in sales for most of my career.


I worked with those who were requiring support in the property market and wishing to downsize which comes with personal involvement.


Having had to research a care home for my mother-in-law, I realised that the role of Customer Liaison Manager was one that I wished to pursue.

I thoroughly enjoy working in this environment, helping to support those looking for care or a lifestyle change for their family, it is rewarding to get to know the residents in such lovely surroundings and with the dedicated staff.

I started my career as an administrator in a primary school in 2013, I moved to the care industry in 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Every day is different and I love the challenge it brings! Avery is a wonderful company to work for and I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to grow. I joined Cliveden Manor as a Dementia Care Manager in September 2023.


I previously worked as the Registered Manager at a Residential Home in Oxfordshire.


I worked there for 10 years, working my way up from care assistant through various roles and I was in the role of manager for over 4 years.


I have worked in the elderly care sector since 2011 and I knew straight away that it was a career that I wanted to follow.


I particularly have a passion for working with those living with dementia and doing all I can to enrich their lives.
My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and sadly passed away 6 years later. Helping to care for her made me realise that it was something that I wanted to do.


Cliveden Manor is a lovely home with a great reputation and I enjoy supporting my residents, family members and team members.

I started as a care supervisor and I worked my way up to Residential Care Manager in August 2023. I manage the Assisted Living Department at Cliveden Manor, and I support our General Manager and Deputy Manager with the management of the home.


I am driven by ensuring all our residents receive exceptional person-centred care, as the residents are my priority. As the Residential Care Manager, I work alongside a fantastic and committed team of carers who are equally passionate about the care we provide.

I like to meet different residents and listen to their comments and I endeavour to make sure myself and the team live up to their high expectations.

Having previously been accustomed to roles in the customer service and retail industry I joined the Signature family in Sept 2019. My knowledge and experience of community, charity and social events have been paramount to my objectives and ideas for our residents. I began my signature career as an Activities Assistant, achieving a Level 2 qualification in the principles of dementia care. I have now taken the role of Activities Supervisor supporting the activities team and working hard to introduce a wide range of fun activities and events to enhance the mental and physical well-being of the residents of Cliveden Manor. I am privileged to be part of an amazing team and to be able to work together to cultivate a stimulating and varied lifestyle for our residents.
