Mum was in Dukes Court for a number of years and was very happy there. Mums needs changed during her stay and the team accommodated those changes readily. Looking after vulnerable and frail elderly adults is a difficult job and support (in all forms) from the immediate family helps to smooth any issues and in Dukes Court the whole of the management, wellbeing and care teams work hard to keep the residents happy and healthy. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dukes Court as a residential care home.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was an absolute pleasure to care for Mum, and she will be missed dearly. I will pass your kind words on to our team at Dukes Court.
I visited the home, and the staff and management were so lovely. The premises are very clean and the staff are so polite and accommodating. Bravo to all who work here, as their commitment and patience are second to none.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, I will pass your kind words on to our team.
I am extremely disappointed with the treatment my vulnerable 86 year old mother received at Dukes court care home. On 21st December 2024, the care home took my confused and vulnerable mother to hospital and abandoned her there without any family present. On 26th December 2024, the hospital declared my mother fit to return to Dukes Court, but the care home refused to take her back. To add insult to injury I arranged for £100 spending money to be transferred to my mothers account each month, the final amount left my mothers bank account on 30th December 2024 On 27th January 2025 I emailed the home to request that money back, on 27th February 2025 the £100 has still not been transferred back to her account. I feel deeply let down by the way Dukes Court handled my mothers care and would strongly advise others to reconsider placing their loved ones in this facility. Compassion, patience and understanding should be the foundation of any care home - unfortunately, we did not find that here.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your insights as they help us to continuously evaluate and improve our services. We are committed to providing quality care and support for all our residents, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times. We understand that...
From my first visit I always found the staff very caring and kind, and they looked after my friend very well indeed. After she had been in hospital she had lost 1 1/2 stone, within a few weeks of tempting food she is back to full health. A big thing with me is smell. No smell in this home, its clean, bright and warm. All residents are happy and I always get a warm welcome.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We will ensure to pass this on to the team and its wonderful to hear that you have good experiences visiting Dukes Court.
The continuity of staff at Dukes Court Care Home is impressive and makes a huge difference to mum's care as they truly know her well. They also listen and act immediately on any issues/concerns. They have an open door policy which is great but they have also offered 1:1 face or online meetings to discuss the care and welfare of mum, which was greatly appreciated.
Thank you kindly for taking the time to review our home, Your kind words will be shared across the team. We love having mum here she really is a true part of Dukes Court.
I cannot praise Dukes Court enough for their continuing care of my father. He is happy, exceptionally well cared for and the staff at the home are outstanding. They treat every resident with dignity and compassion and are always on hand to talk to. We are so lucky that we found Dukes Court.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, we love supporting dad and I know he is settled and happy here.
Mum is unable to live at home whilst I am on holiday. Dukes Court offers respite care which suits our needs very well. Mum is happy to stay as often as necessary and enjoys her time there. We refer to mum's stay as holiday time for her.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, we love having mum to stay at Dukes Court. I will pass your comments on to our team.
Dad enjoyed his birthday recently, as a family we were celebrating and made very welcome to use the dining room to have a private little party of cake and tea, and the following day he had another big birthday cake presented by the staff and careers, which put a big cheery smile on dads face, a big thank you from us in taking care, and always going the extra mile on these occasions.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review and we are so glad Dad enjoyed his birthday. I will pass your comments on to the team.
The carers do their jobs very well no worries there, look after mum very well, gets her medicines on time, the only problem is that mum can get annoyed as she gets frustrated because of her eyes otherwise everything is good and she is in the right place as needs 24 care which I can't give.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, I will pass your comments on to the team.
Dukes Court has a lovely welcoming feel and a high standard of decor and furnishings. The rooms are well furnished mostly with a good outlook. The majority of the long term staff are very efficient and caring. My father was here 3 years ago until he died with Alzheimer's and was extremely well cared for. My mother has been here for over a year. Unfortunately since the flood on the ground floor, and her being moved to the first floor, standards have dropped considerably. The carers are friendly but very haphazard and casual with their approach. The meals and service are inferior, often served late and cold plus either over or under cooked. And yes, the fees have increased. Very much looking forward to the ground floor reopening and hopefully my mother returning to the experience we signed up for and feeling happy again.
It's lovely to hear that you feel Dukes provides a welcoming atmosphere. It's important that our guests feel at home when visiting their loved ones. We are lucky to have many dedicated long-serving staff members on our team, which we believe reflects the family like feel within our home. Dukes...
We are so pleased with the care the home provides. All the staff are amazing the care they show each and every person is outstanding. The staff are always approachable at every level and the manager is hands on too. The home gives us peace of mind that my father in law is looked after. The wellbeing staff have a full time timetable of activities each week and watching the residents enjoying them is the best. Other family members have visited the home and were so impressed . We give the home 10 out of 10 .
Thank you so much for such a lovely review and taking the time to write this, I will ensure to pass these comments on to the team.
The staff are wonderful. There are many staff that have been there for the last six years, so excellent staff retention. The decor is a little tired in places and could be more vibrant, but the home is clean and warm. The food is of a reasonable standard. The garden area is small and more could be done to enhance this area.
Thank you so much for the review and we take on board what you have said, we do have lots of plans in 2025 to decorate in the places which are tired. It's lovely to read the staff are wonderful and we provide excellent care which is what makes Dukes court so special, we truly are a home from home and feel this shows in our staff retention.
I have been at Dukes Court Care home for nearly 4 years. I have been very happy with the management and carers and the facilities and services.
Thank you for writing such a lovely review, I'm so glad you are happy living with our Dukes family. I will ensure to pass your kind words on to our team.
I am very impressed with Dukes Court and cannot praise enough the care that my mum and stepdad are receiving. The decor is lovely and everywhere is clean. The food looks lovely. There is a varied menu with a choice for each course. Snacks and drinks are always available. The well-being team are amazing. There are varied activities every day, both indoors and outside in the garden. It is great that they post photos and videos on social media daily. It's so lovely to see all the smiling faces!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review; it is our pleasure to look after both of them. I will pass this on to the team.
My dad came to Dukes Court for respite and loved it so much that he is now a permanent resident. The staff are very friendly and caring. I love visiting my dad as the home is so friendly and there is such a lovely atmosphere there. The staff do a great job and make the home the success it is. I am so glad my dad is here.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a lovely review, I'll be sure to share it with the team.
This is our first experience of a care home on a personal level. As we are getting older we have visited various relatives of friends in care facilities and find this far superior to any we have visited. I also feel the staff and management are happy and cheerful and this this goes a long way in the way residents feel and deal with their own problems.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a kind review, I will pass this on to our team.
However, the continual price increases are unwelcome and too often, especially when to go up over £100 per week.
I'm so pleased you feel Dad is well cared for, and you're right, we have such lovely kind staff. I'm happy to discuss your concerns with the fee increase, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Staff are always cheerful and attentive, and my father is very happy staying at Dukes Court.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review; we will be sure to pass these nice comments on to our team.
I am very happy about all at Dukes Court, with the support and caring at Dukes Court from the carers.
Dukes Court is a wonderful home for mum. The facilities and food are excellent and there are always lots of interesting things to join in, arranged by the Wellbeing Team. The main benefit of Duke's Court are the excellent staff they are hardworking and caring and are genuine friends to mum which gives us peace of mind that she is very happy and very well cared for. Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, I will ensure this is passed on to our team.

Every day, we are committed to creating a home where residents feel safe, valued, respected, and supported to live life to the fullest. It is a privilege to be part of so many special moments and to make a positive difference to the lives of the people who call Dukes Court home.
With over 20 years of experience in health and social care, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, each of which has shaped my passion for delivering exceptional, person-centred care. As Home Manager, my vision is to create a warm, welcoming, and vibrant community where every resident feels a true sense of belonging. I firmly believe that outstanding care is built on meaningful relationships, genuine compassion, and taking the time to understand each individual. By getting to know our residents, their life stories, interests, preferences, and achievements, we are able to provide personalised care that celebrates who they are and supports them to continue living a fulfilling life.
Supporting and developing our team is something I am deeply passionate about. I believe that when colleagues feel valued, inspired, and empowered, they provide the very best care for our residents. Creating a positive, inclusive workplace where everyone feels appreciated is incredibly important to me, and I take great pride in fostering a culture of kindness, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Outside of work, I have a real passion for interior design and creating beautiful spaces. I also love travelling, experiencing different cultures, and discovering new places to eat with family and friends.
