View Full Details of Wytham HouseThe care team at Wytham House are so caring and wonderful with my dad. They take time to listen and understand what he needs and treat me with love, care and respect which is really appreciated. Thank you to everyone from the nurses to the cares and activity team. You are amazing!
On my first visit to Wytham, I was impressed with the premises, layout, cleanliness and suitability for my husband to walk around freely and safely. The staff are friendly and well trained, with understanding of the needs of dementia sufferers. After 2 1/2 years I am still happy with my husband's care and the way he is made to feel part of the Wytham family. Activities staff are kind and helpful even though my husband is unable to participate in anything.
Wytham House is a lovely setting with kind staff. There've been ups and downs over the time my sister has been there but I've been very impressed by so many of the staff (in a wide range of positions) who've consistently been determined to provide the best quality care they can, sometimes under difficult circumstances. My sister has complex needs, attention to detail, & continuity of care, is vital and I'm seeing this delivered with skill and real affection for, & knowledge of, her. I also value good communication with family members, and myself as her deputy, to ensure we work together to ensure person-centred care for her as an individual. This has been very evident in recent interactions & there's a sense of developing openess: sharing information + consulting promptly & appropriately; understanding the role of LPAs/Deputies; & following through on promises for change. I particularly appreciate the transparency & problem-solving approach that's been developed under new leadership.
Mum spent 3 1/2 years at Wytham House myself and my family were very happy with the staff and how well she was looked after. I used to visit her from the States and everyone was always very accommodating whenever I came over. I left a positive review quite a while ago, sadly Mum passed in December 2024 and I have had time to reflect on things. I have nothing but praise for the way Yvette dealt with the whole situation given that I was back in Florida at the time. We were in constant communication on the day it happened and it was possible for me to talk with Mum. I know they did everything they could to make her comfortable. I would recommend this home to someone whose family don't want to get caught up in local traffic and parking issues and be in lovely surroundings combined with excellent staff.
My mother had been a resident of Wytham House for over three years and her care in that time has been amazing and faultless. She really enjoyed the entertainment and activities. Her care at the end of her life was so appropriate and caring. Her care was always discussed with us and the staff always made sure that mum was comfortable and calm. At the end the staff made sure that we were comfortable, offering us food and drinks and making sure they didn’t intrude on our last hours with mum, though they were always there if we needed them. I would not hesitate to recommend Wytham House to anyone.
As a family we feel very lucky to have chosen Wytham House for my father, who is blind and also has dementia. The staff are extremely caring, and clearly make a great effort to treat residents with respect and make them feel at home. It is easy for friends and family members to visit my father: we are always made to feel welcome. The home itself is always clean and well-organised, and the location is good for walks around the grounds.
My wife was content during her brief stay in Wytham House. The staff were patient, caring and friendly. The facilities were clean and tidy. The activities staff worked hard to ensure the residents were stimulated.
Sadly, my Aunt has just died after 5 years at Wytham House. Five years ago we rescued her from a horrible home where social services had put her, and could not be happier with our choice, which gave her a lively and caring environment to spend her last few years. We were so happy that she was able to stay there until she died gently and naturally.
The home has had some serious issues and has at times failed residents and relatives - but now things are looking very good. I am very impressed with the manager, deputy, reception, kitchen staff and activities staff. There are some incredible nurses and carers but unfortunately, there are care staff who do their job but do not connect with the residents - perhaps not having dementia training?
I believe kindness is the most important attribute of all and I would say that Wytham House Care Home is especially marked for this as the staff (almost without exception) seem to be extremely kind and gracious towards everyone in their care, even when their patients are not being easy! Lovely that drink is always available now, it would be great if it could be offered more frequently!
Overall a good experience, considering the sad circumstances. Thank you.
I have always found the home where my mum is living to be extremely good. The staff are friendly towards us and more importantly, treat my mum with great care and respect. This is a great source of comfort to me as I know my mum is well looked after.
We find the care home very friendly and welcoming to both residents and visitors. We always find our mother-in-law very happy and content and the staff friendly, caring and attentive. any requests are always dealt with swiftly and appropriately. We have no concerns regarding the care or welfare of my mother-in-law.
A very warm welcome from all of the team. Everyone we met took the time to chat to us. Clean facilities. A lovely stay. Thank you for looking after Granny so well.
A very warm welcome on arrival. We were with Mum, staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Each member of staff acknowledged us and refreshments were readily available. The cinema room, which was made available to us, was clean, tidy and a very nice environment. The whole building was clean and tidy and had a nice, relaxed atmosphere!
The care my mother received at Wytham House was good, and I am very grateful for that. However, I am posting a review now to alert potential clients that I am having enormous difficulty getting back money that I am owed by Aria Care. I don't know if I'm uniquely unlucky in this, or whether other clients are finding the same. This is the straightforward repayment of a deposit, that was due in mid-March. At the time of writing (2 May) I am still waiting for the money to be credited to my account. In the only email I have received from the credit department (7 April) I was told that an invoice would be issued to me the following week. Still nothing, and I have been emailing to ask for updates.
The carers and staff are wonderful and have worked under immense pressure over recent years. I am grateful for the care given to Mum over many years. The reason for the four rather than five stars is the cost of care. I didn't give a rating for activities as Mum cannot partake in any.
My father has been a resident for a number of months and has settled in quickly. The manager is very approachable with a very caring and compassionate manner. My father has a tailored care plan and the staff have been amazing in following and assisting my father.
Wytham House is set in a beautiful location, welcoming you from both outside and inside. Staff are friendly and kind. They attend to residents' needs promptly. My wife has been there for three years now. Before the pandemic, the service was excellent in every approach. During the pandemic, everybody had difficult times, but now the situation has improved.
My wife seems to have settled with this splendid environment. I wonder what the next move will be.
