View Full Details of Ty Llandaff Care HomeAs a volunteer I see how caring the staff are to all the residents and also having conversations with family members and to see how pleased they are with Ty llandaff. Everyone is made to feel like family.
My partner came into Ty Llandaff 4 weeks ago, which broke my heart. I felt very down about him being away from me. After 2 weeks, he was a changed man, which made me feel so much better than I had done the right thing. He has 24 hour care, the staff are all great, could be in a better care home.
I was admitted in early June 2025 having had no previous care home experience but have found Ty Llandaff to be a warm and very caring environment. All the staff and management are sincerely friendly while keeping a professional manner, though I have found a lot of them possess a sense of humour worth having in the sort of work they do. I have been surprised at the height of level of service provided at Ty Llandaff and the lengths members of staff will go to just to ensure a resident is made to feel happy. The Staff here are truly wonderful in the work they do and the way they do it!
For seven months, I cared for my mother at home with carers calling to the house whilst we waited for a place for Mum. Within days of Mum moving to Ty Llandaff, she regained her appetite, is more chatty and is clearly thriving already. The staff are wonderful, always encouraging Mum to join in and go to the dining room as she is bedridden and was reluctant to at first. As a family we are delighted with everything about Ty Llandaff and so pleased to see Mum so settled.
Visits to a friend who was in end-of-life care. On each visit was impressed by the excellent care he received. Staff are always willing to help but not intrude.
The team are wonderful at supporting residents in their declining years right across the board : from those requiring gentle support to those with more advancing disabilities. Whilst decline is inevitable with Alzheimer's patients, the team at Ty Llandaff treat my mother with respect and great care, enabling her to find joy at each stage. It's wonderful that we can once again see her 'spark' has returned and she is connecting with life and the friends she has made here.
When it became time for my brother to move from his home to a care home I already knew where. Ty Llandaff had already been highly recommended by friends and family. My expectations were high when I made my first visit but I was not disappointed. Every single member of staff were welcoming and interested to know all about my brother and eager to meet him. It's still early days but my brother has settled well and is much happier.
My mother was a short resident at this home. In my experience my mum had excellent care. Not only did they tend to my mum's end of life they also gave the whole family care, which is a large family. The care, dignity and support was excellent. The home is beautiful and the staff (management and carers) treated us all with kindness and were very professional throughout our experience.
My mum stayed at this care home and can't praise this home enough. They were wonderful to our family while my mum was just a short-term resident there. All management and staff were caring to all the family and especially to our mum who had extremely excellent care while in her end-of-life stay there. We are a very large family which on times there were a lot of us there and all staff and management were very professional. Not only did they care for our mum they looked after all her family. The care home is very beautiful and our mum's room was always kept very clean as was our mum. This was the first nursing home that we visited and knew we did not have to look anywhere else for our mum to be cared for.
I was a resident in April 2024 for respite care. I extended my stay. The care is excellent. Food is beautiful with plenty of choice. My rehabilitation at Ty Llandaff Care Home gave me the confidence to be able to go back home and live independently. My partner is a full-time resident at Ty Llandaff and he is happy and settled.
I have been at Ty Llandaff Care Home since March 2024. I am very happy. The food is excellent. Plenty of activities and excursions. The care is outstanding. The carers treat all of us residents as family.
I wish to echo my sincere thanks to all the lovely staff at this care home. One of the senior carers for always being so kind and approachable and always going that extra mile. Another senior carer for being so patient in going that extra mile when I was rushing to take my mum out. The receptionist always has a smile despite being busy and a great positivity. The activities coordinator for always providing such lively activities and for including the relatives. Another specific staff member for always being so kind and caring too. Thank you all.
Friendly, welcoming staff, comfortable, spacious care home, nice en-suite bedrooms. Lots of activities on offer daily. Good facilities - lounges, hair salon and cinema room. Residents are well supported and treated with care and dignity and respect.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, and they look after you very well. The nurses at night are excellent, this makes it a very homely environment.
My mum has settled in very well and all the staff are so kind and helpful. My mum enjoys the varied activities which are held daily and also being able to decide which activities she participates in.
The reputation of any care home is built by the quality of its workforce. The staff at Ty Llandaff make it exceptional. They work as a team, but each provides exemplary individual support, care and compassion. Our first point of contact with Ty Llandaff was with the business manager and the senior nurse. They put my father-in-law's safety first, as a priority, before anything else in this. Ty Llandaff rose above other care homes and prompted our decision making. There are many individual
My mother moved into Ty Llandaf in Sept following a long period in hospital, recovering from a broken leg sustained during a fall, whilst living at home. Since she arrived, she has received exceptional care. The staff are excellent. They are friendly, always checking to see if she is ok and anticipating her needs. Despite being wheelchair bound, the staff take her out to the patio sitting area every day, weather permitting, which she really enjoys. There are a wide range of daily activities, which makes each day very stimulating and fulfilling. The care home is very well appointed and the room is comfortable.
I thought that choosing a care home for Mum was never going to be easy. However, I have to say that from my first visit to view Ty Llandaff I was met by such friendly faces in a lovely modern purpose built home which is immaculately maintained. I had a strong feeling that Mum would be in safe hands and that she would be well cared for. She has been a resident for 4 months and is enjoying all that Ty Llandaff has to offer. The activities programme is varied and well run, and Mum particularly enjoys joining in with arts and crafts, proudly showing me her latest creations which are on display in the lounge. The musical entertainment is always enjoyed by her and the Cheese and Wine evening where families are encouraged to join in is a lovely event which we as a family appreciate. The meals too are delicious but it's the homemade cakes that Mum enjoys, particularly the custard tarts with a nice cup of tea. At the heart of Ty Llandaff are the wonderful staff who make it such a happy caring home.
We couldn't be happier with Ty Llandaff. They've brought my Nan back to life. She's got her spark back. The staff are all so kind and considerate and caring. Nan is thriving and that's all because of the staff. The activities are the highlight of her day; we never knew Nan was so talented at arts and crafts! And all the music activities are wonderful. Thank you a hundred times over to the staff at Ty Llandaff.
My mum moved into Ty Llandaff in the Spring after living alone since we lost my Dad just prior to COVID and following Mum experiencing several falls at home. My Mum was naturally very reluctant to leave the home in which she'd lived since marrying her husband. Despite reservations, my Mum is very pragmatic so understood it was vital to move into full-time care. Whilst my Mum was initially very happy to be moving somewhere that was clearly a lovely environment, in a perfect corner of Cardiff, her home city, initially we felt she maybe lost that spark and were were concerned she wasn't quite herself. As the weeks and months went by however, Mum's affection for the staff became evident and their warmth, affection and keenness to involve her in things she both loved, and wouldn't ordinarily get involved with has brought back her spark. Music and entertainment have always been my Mum's interests but she's gotten interested in arts and crafts and so much more recently and sincerely thinks the world of her new "friends".
