View Full Details of Skylark HouseFrom the first interaction everyone was very friendly, polite & helpful. Dad is happy and well looked after. There are many different activities & events on offer. SEVEN days a week which really helps him fill his days. Any queries the family have had whilst settling him in have been answered promptly. The food is great and the coffee shop is a lovely touch as Dad can have visitors and it feels normal for him.
After a disastrous visit to another care home, we were so pleased with the way Skylark welcomed my father. The staff led by the manager are well trained and so caring of their elderly charges. They ensure that he lives a productive life and treat him with respect and kindness. I cannot praise them enough.
Amazing experience, my granddaughter is looked after so well and the staff are excellent. Very lovely rooms and everyone is so welcome.
It does not feel like an old people's home. The resident is so happy there because it is not what he expected.
Exceptional service and care for my great-grandfather. The staff are exceptional and everyone makes it feel like home from home. I feel at ease knowing my grandad is being looked after and cared for in an amazing environment. Thank you to everyone.
Extremely satisfied with the care my grandad has received from this home. All the staff are so kind and provide exceptional care to the residents. A very clean, warm and welcoming environment.
Following a few weeks at another care home, Skylark was a huge improvement, and my father-in-law is now very settled. Skylark is fantastic.
The care of my grandmother has been exceptional. The facilities are very clear and the care he receives is exceptional.
Couldn't ask for anything else. Friendly staff and residents can live their lives. Amazing!
Dad has a lovely large sunny room overlooking the garden. The nurses and carers are so kind, nothing is too much trouble. Any issues raised is dealt with immediately, whether it's a dietary issues, a health question or even just asking for a picture to be put up. The care/reception area is beautiful with 3 different snacks available daily for residents and visitors alike. Dad is always greeted by name and now really feels this is his home. The activities are varied, ranging from outings to talk, to arts and crafts or hand massages. And very importantly, Skylark smells nice and looks fresh too.
My mother has been at Skylark House for the past 5 months. She has a lovely big room with windows out to a patio. She loves the food and I enjoy helping her eat it as well when I visit. The care staff have been lovely and are always available when needed e.g. to put her into her wheelchair for a trip to the cafe or garden (she is mainly bedbound as she has no mobility by herself). There are always activities going on which my Mum attends when she feels like it, and she has room visits for things like hand massages, or carers just dropping in for a chat. The medical set-up is great. There is a lot of attention to her medical condition and she has a lot of contact with the local GP organised by Skylark, and they keep me up to date with it all. It's a very relaxed feeling in the home, and welcoming to relatives who visit. Very clean and always tidy.
My auntie went into Skylark House just under 3 years ago and her care has been amazing. The activities they do are great with something every day. Everyone is encouraged and the activities are fun and adapted to suit all. Skylark became my auntie's extended family and ours too. We loved visiting - the coffee shop is a lovely seating area to have coffee and cake with your loved one. From reception to office to care staff - everyone is so welcoming. Sadly my auntie has just passed away after a diagnoses of an aggressive cancer and her end of life palliative care was so reassuring for us. She was kept pain free and passed peacefully. The staff kept her as cheerful as they could and made sure all her needs were met every second of the day. When I visited they took care of my needs too making sure I was ok and offering me that much needed support. I recommend Skylark to anyone who needs to place an elderly relative into a care provider. They will definitely have an enhanced life, full of fun and can make such great new friendships. The rooms are bright and airy with en-suite facilities. The home has lovely sunny secure balconies on each floor for residents to sit out and enjoy the views of the garden. The well maintained garden is beautiful and they have events for all residents and their families, for example, summer parties and barbecues. The residents can take walks with staff or family around the garden on the safe paths. Lovely seating areas dotted around can be enjoyed in summer months. An excellent care home comes highly recommended by my auntie and her family. Thank you for everything especially to the team on the Nursing floor.
3 Months ago I entered Skylark House after a life-changing fall. I was met with tender care and concern by the staff. My hobby is painting, however, when my son died in 2023 I seemed unable to do it anymore. The incredible activities team have encouraged me to pick up a paintbrush again. I now paint portraits and I have a challenge and purpose each day. Walking back to my room the other day a resident collapsed, I called and within seconds staff and nurses came from every direction. She was given immediate treatment and is fine. The last 2 examples show the extent of Skylark's care.
Following a two week respite stay my mother chose to come to Skylark House as a permanent resident. She is very happy there and always busy doing one of the many activities on offer. All of the staff are hard working and caring. She now regards Skylark as her home.
A lovely care home, with nice staff, mostly, I think the food is very good, but possibly needs more suitability for those who struggle to feed themselves. Clean, very well presented. Adequate parking for visitors, good reception staff and managers. Nice carers and kept well informed. One point is the lack of ability to contact easily when reception is not manned. Needs more staff.
My relative only came into Skylark this Autumn. I cannot share enough how wonderful they have all been to her and our family. We've been made to feel like part of a very happy and warm little community. The Christmas season has been nothing short of magical, including the delicious family Xmas meal that we were invited to. Even when my relative was taken to hospital for a short while, she was welcomed back with such genuine affection and support. This care home was an amazing find and my relative has found fun and happiness in her life again!
I have visited a number of times since my granddad moved in at the start of this year, including several times in December. I have always been very impressed by how well run the home is, particularly at how engaged the staff are with the residents including my granddad. Staff are friendly and always have something for granddad to get involved in.
Skylark House has been an amazing care home for my dad. They have looked after him with great care and support. I feel he has enjoyed his time there with great entertainment put on for the residents on a regular basis. He eats well, good food they serve there. The tea room is a nice place to take my dad when we go and see him. They also have a fantastic garden which gives us the chance to take him outside when we like to. I would recommend Skylark to my family and friends
There is always a warm welcome when I visit Skylark House from the friendliness of the staff on reception to those working in my Mum's suite, who are very caring towards the residents. Her room is always very neat and tidy and, although we don't spend so much time in the coffee shop these days, it is a lovely relaxing communal space for socialising and entertainment. The updates and communication about her needs are excellent. I feel very reassured that she is being well cared for, especially when I am away with work and not able to visit as often as usual. I am very happy with Skylark House and have recommended the care home to several friends who have been looking at places for their loved ones.
I'm very happy with my dad being a resident at Skylark House. Not only is he just 5 minutes drive from my house, the care, quality of food and the staff's attention to my dad's individual needs are excellent. The range of daily activities is also varied and consistent which is also helped by the staff's diary of pictures showing my dad enjoying himself - This is important as his memory is non-existent due to his dementia. A particularly memorable event was the arrival of a herd of alpacas. The pictures of them being squeezed into the lift was hilarious.
