View Full Details of Montpellier ManorMum and Dad moved to Montpellier for two weeks respite a year and a half ago. We quickly realised it was the best and safest place to be. Dad was terminally ill; mum has dementia and we were exhausted trying to look after them at home. Dad passed away peacefully with the upmost care, compassion and respect. He was loved and cared for. Mum is cared for, respected and encouraged to live her best. There are activities she can join in with if she wants to. The spiritual care and support is wonderful, it's very much appreciated. The friendliness of the staff and their support of one another helps create a family atmosphere. We are grateful to have found such a special place for mum. Montpellier is clean and spotless too which is wonderful.
The care my mum received during her stay at Montpellier Manor was absolutely first class. All of the staff, and I mean all of the staff, were excellent with my mum and with all of our family.
Mum is very well looked after by your excellent caring staff, all her needs are catered for in a lovely happy caring atmosphere a home from home. There are plenty of activities to keep her busy and active. She enjoys her meals, she's always had a good appetite! As a family we are happy to so Mum settled and safe in her new home.
I asked my aunt for scores and she has put good on all points. In her eyes I don't think she would ever day excellent but I would certainly say that her care has been second to none. It is a beautifully kept care home with the best of furnishings. Food has been very good and the staff have all been exceptional. The managers in charge have been very helpful. (I live in Scotland so we have had quite a bit of contact by phone and they have been very understanding). Wish there were more care homes this around the country!
Probably the best decision me and mam have ever made It's made a massive difference to my mam's life - and ours. It's like a 5-star resort: excellent food, excellent entertainment, and absolutely immaculate. My mam was reluctant to leave her flat at first. We had to make up an excuse, telling her that me and my brother had accidentally booked a holiday that crossed over leaving her alone. But after just five hours of mam staying there, she asked to stay for good. And that's when we got our mam back. No longer the lady who was wasting away with dementia, not caring, sleeping all day, or going to bed and not getting up. The change has been incredible. Highly recommended.
I have spent 7 months in Montpellier Manor, at the time I was so afraid about going in but my mind changed on the first night. I was made to feel it was home from home. Today is the day I go home, and as much as I want to go home, I will miss every part of my stay. For someone who is thinking about what care home, the only one to stay is Montpellier Manor. I have made friends for life, and when I settled at home, I am coming back to keep in touch. If this were a hotel, I would give it 5*.
We were pleased to find that requests made on assessment day were all done and ready for my husband. e.g bed-leaver, raised toilet seat, bed orientation changed. Staff were friendly and informative.
My mother's stay (respite) at Montpellier Manor has been an extremely good experience. The staff have been outstanding with their care and attention. They have been friendly and attentive but not overbearing, which is 100% excellent. Mum has enjoyed her stay. She loved the entertainment (she was never bored) and she's said that the food was excellent for every meal. Thank you very much.
Although my mam's stay was brief, she was cared for very well. She was encouraged to take part in activities and eventually came to love being a resident. Thank you for everything you did for my mum.
I have put excellent for everything, because it was, my stay for 6 weeks respite was very enjoyable indeed. The attention was staff was very friendly and always plenty of entertainment. The food very good and the cleanliness the standard was high. Felt very safe and secure. I really did enjoy my stay and would recommend it to anyone. Best wishes to you all. P.S the church minister was really good.
When Mum decided it was time to go into a home in January 2024 we toured many homes looking for the best option. As soon as Mum walked into Montpellier Manor, she knew it was the one and we were proven absolutely correct. Throughout her stay there Mum received exceptional care. The staff could really not do any more for her. The facilities were excellent, enhanced by the re-opening of the public serving cafe in March. The home is always kept very clean and beautifully decorated, laundry is collected and returned on a daily basis, the dining and menu options were extensive, a huge choice of activities and services which residents can elect to join in or not, but what made the home stand out above all others was the caring and attentive nature of all of the staff across the board. The management deserve a particular mention as it is clear that their wonderful attitude towards caring for the sick and/or elderly pervades at every level.
From the very first time we visited Montpellier Manor the excellent facilities and high standard of care of the residents were clearly evident. Mum was very particular about the standard of her care and had done her research beforehand so we already knew it was going to be the best and that's exactly what it turned out to be. The wall of cards and letters of heartfelt thanks from relatives of previous residents says it all really and that is down to the excellent management and the hard work and dedication of all the staff throughout the home. The management constantly strive to improve every aspect of the home to give the residents and their friends and relatives the best possible care and support. I, personally, will be forever grateful for the support given to me by the home's manager at the time of my mum's passing. Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion at a time when I needed it the most. It was greatly appreciated.
I am extremely pleased with the care my mother receives at Montpellier Manor Care Home. The home itself is very clean and well cared for at all times. The staff are pleasant and courteous no matter what time of day or what circumstances. They are never too busy to deal with any query I may have.
My mum is a long-term resident of Montpellier Manor. In her time at the home, her Alzheimer's has got more pronounced. Throughout Mum's care has been exceptional. Mum is well cared for physically and emotionally and she presents as calm and content even if she is not always able to voice this. I feel the staff that currently care for Mum on the third floor know my mum really well. They know her moods, good and not so good, but especially they know she retains a sense of humour and a degree of mischief. I visit Mum regularly and I am always happy to leave her knowing she will be well cared for always. I wouldn't want my mum to be anywhere else.
Montpelier Manor has been my Mum's home for the last two years, although sadly she has Alzheimer's and is completely bed-bound and therefore does not leave her room, I see and feel the atmosphere of a friendly, caring and active environment that if she was able to access would be a place that she would want to spend her time. The staff treat my mum with great care and dignity as she needs total support with everyday living, they are always smiling and have time to talk to me on my visits about any concerns I may have. Although Mum has no understanding of where she is or who is looking after her I feel that she is happy in her own world with no outward signs of distress seen at any time. I know that this is where my Mum will end her days but feel happy to know that she is in the best possible place. Thank you.
I cannot praise the staff who look after my mother, highly enough. The carers are very welcoming when I visit. They treat my mother with dignity and care, as well as a good dose of humour. The cleaning staff are very hardworking and are very helpful when there is a problem. The overall atmosphere at Montpellier is lovely and I'm very happy with the care my mother receives.
My mother has just completed 2 weeks of respite after a short stay in hospital. Montpellier Manor was a great experience for her and our family. The facilities are first class. Clean, bright and new. Felt more like a lovely hotel than a care home. The staff and carers were the best part. So friendly and helpful. Our mother enjoyed every aspect including the food (even though she's a picky eater). She has left Montpellier in the best of health and we will definitely be returning if and when, it becomes necessary. Thank you to everyone there.
My mother has been a resident for the last 18 months. It became her home and she was very happy there. If she had a fall I got a phone call immediately. If she was unwell, the same. Her final days were treated with respect, dignity and more importantly - love. I can't thank the carers and staff enough. They were just amazing.
My dad was transferred to Montpellier Manor from hospital after being diagnosed with dementia. Montpellier Manor is a beautifully decorated, clean and pleasant home, with very warm, patient and dedicated staff, many of whom have worked for MHA or other care homes for a long time, which is always a good sign. They were brilliant with my Dad, despite a few challenges and he improved dramatically in their care, to the point where he was able to move to somewhere that offered him more independence. The food needs some improvement and was a constant source of frustration for my Dad and other residents and there were no organised trips out while he was there for over a year, which was a shame. Apart from that, we were very happy with his care and would highly recommend Montpellier Manor as a safe and loving place for your loved one.
First time for Mum to have respite care and it couldn't have been any better. Very impressive accommodation together with friendly and caring staff.
