View Full Details of Stratton Court Care HomeStratton court looked after my father for a short time , he desperately wanted to go back to the Town he lived all his life so sadly we had to move him , the care he had was second to none , he was treated with love and respect by all concerned and i couldn't thank them enough
Care support is very poor My sister many times rings the call bell and she is often ignored or it takes ages for someone to respond to her. Always there are numerous excuses. Many times she has been left soaking wet and led in her own faeces'! She has asked numerous times for her food not to be chopped up as thankfully unlike a lot of people in the home she is not suffering with dementia and she has capacity to speak she also has use of her arms and hands so can chop food up without any problem or assistance It feels that because she is a "social" paying resident the care just is not there for her
I am very impressed with the home it has a high standard I would be happy to be a resident.
We found ourselves in a situation that we needed more care and to be nearer family Stratton Court fulfilled our needs and the staff are 1st class I would highly recommend it to others.
Messages re planned visit not passed to patient or son, nor apparently to floor staff. No evidence of friendly, caring (in true sense) staff attending during visit, nurse either on computer or absent from post. Patient suffering Aphasia wrote 'They removed my bell, also no one here cares'. How could help/pain relief/position change etc be summoned? Personal care immediately prior to my arrival but nails unhygienic, truly filthy. I concur with CQC 2023 'Requires improvement'.
My mother became a permanent resident in July 2025 after having a trial respite break. The care home has exceeded our expectations. The home is spotlessly clean with beautiful decor in all rooms. The food is excellent. All the staff have been outstanding from the management to nursing staff, care staff, receptionists, maintenance staff, support staff & hairdressers. Everyone has been friendly, caring and supportive. My mother has settled quickly and is very happy. Our family are confident that she will be well cared for at a vulnerable time of life.
The entrance looks very impressive. I had phoned twice to say that I was coming to visit my friend giving my name etc but noone seemed aware of this. My friend was obviously very thin and ill and frantically trying to speak but no sound came out. i quickly worked out that she could write and was perfectly " with it ". She had no bell and could not shout out. She wrote No one her cares. Her huge Tv was on loud but not visible from the position she was in. She wrote " Wimbledon" She knew it was on. she loved tennis. She was very distressed and isolated. The staff did not seem interested . She died the next day
I have very much enjoyed my weeks of respite care. Without exception, the staff have been excellent, so helpful, and friendly. They create a very happy atmosphere. I shall leave with plans to return for another visit.
I found the staff very helpful and some went over and above their willingness to assist. Nothing is too much trouble. Yes I would recommend anyone to stay here in this beautiful setting for any choice of care that they need.
I was given a room at very short notice and grateful for that. I found the home very comfortable and secure and my outlook on my pending treatment for hip surgery was much improved by the care and reassurance of the staff. The food was very good and catered for most tastes it seemed. It was nice to be able to meet visitors in the reception area downstairs.
My mother continues to receive excellent care and attention at Stratton Court. She is very happy, secure and her needs are met by very caring staff. As a family we feel we could not have made a better choice as we know she is in good hands and her health is well maintained and attended to. She is encouraged to be mobile and join in activities and enjoy the company, food and comfortable environment.
Genuinely excellent. Sometimes a long wait after the alarm button is used.
Very good for most options. But for residents can be confusing - Am I a ground floor or 1st floor resident? I need info from both floors if possible as I want to join in. Up-to-date info would be nice. No criticism of the activity lady but activities could be increased? Excellent help from staff.
My mother has been a resident for six months - she is very content and well cared for. I am confident that she is happy. The entertainment and stimulation are very good. My only complaint is the return of her own clothes. I have raised this on numerous occasions. All her tops and other clothing are labelled.
The help I had from my carers getting me back to good health was second to none. They are now friends for life, their love and devotion to their job was and is admirable.
My mum stayed here for nine weeks at the beginning of the year, the security was appalling - the first few weeks she was there none of the keypads worked to get onto the floors - anyone could have accessed her room/other residents. Within a week of being there she developed the most horrendous ulcer on her back - she simply wasn't turned - no one checked on her. The carers did their best, the management is very top-heavy - lots of suits, not enough people doing the jobs that need to be done. The carers aren't just carers, which is why they can't care properly, they are the kitchen staff, cleaners etc. as well.
Firstly and most importantly the home smells great! Plenty of light and positivity upon entering the reception area. My father's room was easily accessible although not big. Some of the fixtures could do with a bit of attention (wardrobe door) but by far the most important thing was the care that he is receiving - it has been exemplary so far. All the caring staff cannot do enough for my father and he has felt cared for through what has been a difficult time in these past few weeks. Very many thanks.
My wife is content and appears to get on well with all the staff.
Mum went to Stratton Court 3 years ago on respite. She quickly made it her home. As her health deteriorated her care needs increased. Mum had a DNR in place and was adamant she did not want to go to the hospital but to spend her last days at Stratton Court. She got her wish and my wife was by her side when she passed. I would like to thank everyone for their outstanding love and care the nursing they gave to Mum. You truly made it her home. We were overwhelmed by all your support.
Absolutely lovely care home. Staff are always really friendly and helpful. My nan is very well cared for and respected. Often told how she is one of the staff's favourites which is lovely to hear! Very well decorated home right from the reception all the way to the residents' bedrooms and bathrooms. Nothing is ever too much trouble!
