A good friend had a respite stay at Stratton Court Care Home. From the start she was made to feel welcome and part of the community who lived there. The food was excellent and it was lovely to be able to enjoy meals together in their restaurant. There were also many different activities to enjoy on
a daily basis. The staff were always on hand and willing and able to assist.

We recently placed my grandmother at Stratton Court Care Home in Cirencester for a short one week stay, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the excellent facilities and the beautiful, thoughtfully designed interiors, which feel far more like
a welcoming home than a care setting.

All of the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond to make sure my grandmother felt comfortable, settled, and well looked after throughout her stay. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and their warmth and reassurance made a huge difference.

We feel that he's well looked after - always clean and fresh when we visit. the good looks and smells

I thought I'd write to comment on the respite visit my dad had at Stratton Court last month. He had a great fortnight there, he had his roast dinners and it was topped off on his final day with a Yorkshire pudding competition of all things!
Staff were attentive and cleanliness was good. He will probably
go for another break next month again
I would certainly recommend Stratton as having visited other places in Glos , this topped them all.

It is distressing enough to move a loved one into a care home. We deeply regret picking this one. My father has endured shocking levels of neglect. There are so many things wrong, it is difficult to know where to start. Despite lodging repeated concerns with the staff and management, we have seen no
improvements in his care.
Reply from Yasemin Ucan, Sales and Marketing at Stratton Court Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We were surprised to read your review, particularly as our experience working with your Dad was positive and his overall presentation and wellbeing improved as time went on.

Our team built a good relationship with him and worked closely to support his needs throughout his stay. We worked closely with outside professionals, who were positive about their experiences and outcomes physically and emotionally for your Dad. For this reason, the concerns raised were unexpected. We understand that living with Dementia is a difficult place to be, not only for the people we support but for families as well.

Unfortunately, no contact details were provided with your review, which has meant we have been unable to discuss this directly with you. We are always open to listening, reflecting, and learning, and would welcome the opportunity to meet and talk through any concerns should you wish to do so.

Care support is very poor My sister many times rings the call bell and she is often ignored or it takes ages for someone to respond to her.
Always there are numerous excuses.
Many times she has been left soaking wet and led in her own faeces'!
She has asked numerous times for her food not to be chopped
up as thankfully unlike a lot of people in the home she is not suffering with dementia and she has capacity to speak she also has use of her arms and hands so can chop food up without any problem or assistance
It feels that because she is a "social" paying resident the care just is not there for her

Messages re planned visit not passed to patient or son, nor apparently to floor staff. No evidence of friendly, caring (in true sense) staff attending during visit, nurse either on computer or absent from post. Patient suffering Aphasia wrote 'They removed my bell, also no one here cares'. How could
help/pain relief/position change etc be summoned? Personal care immediately prior to my arrival but nails unhygienic, truly filthy. I concur with CQC 2023 'Requires improvement'.

My mother became a permanent resident in July 2025 after having a trial respite break. The care home has exceeded our expectations. The home is spotlessly clean with beautiful decor in all rooms. The food is excellent. All the staff have been outstanding from the management to nursing staff, care staff,
receptionists, maintenance staff, support staff & hairdressers. Everyone has been friendly, caring and supportive. My mother has settled quickly and is very happy. Our family are confident that she will be well cared for at a vulnerable time of life.

The entrance looks very impressive. I had phoned twice to say that I was coming to visit my friend giving my name etc but noone seemed aware of this.
My friend was obviously very thin and ill and frantically trying to speak but no sound came out.
i quickly worked out that she could write and was perfectly
" with it ".
She had no bell and could not shout out. She wrote No one her cares.
Her huge Tv was on loud but not visible from the position she was in.
She wrote " Wimbledon" She knew it was on. she loved tennis.
She was very distressed and isolated.
The staff did not seem interested . She died the next day

I was given a room at very short notice and grateful for that. I found the home very comfortable and secure and my outlook on my pending treatment for hip surgery was much improved by the care and reassurance of the staff.
The food was very good and catered for most tastes it seemed.
It was nice
to be able to meet visitors in the reception area downstairs.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.257)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.257) out of 10 for Stratton Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.257 for Stratton Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (213 Excellents x 5) + (70 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (16 Poors x 2) + (27 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 339 Ratings = 4.257
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stratton Court Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 84 registered maximum number of service users is 16.8, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
