Care support is very poor My sister many times rings the call bell and she is often ignored or it takes ages for someone to respond to her.
Always there are numerous excuses.
Many times she has been left soaking wet and led in her own faeces'!
She has asked numerous times for her food not to be chopped
up as thankfully unlike a lot of people in the home she is not suffering with dementia and she has capacity to speak she also has use of her arms and hands so can chop food up without any problem or assistance
It feels that because she is a "social" paying resident the care just is not there for her

Messages re planned visit not passed to patient or son, nor apparently to floor staff. No evidence of friendly, caring (in true sense) staff attending during visit, nurse either on computer or absent from post. Patient suffering Aphasia wrote 'They removed my bell, also no one here cares'. How could
help/pain relief/position change etc be summoned? Personal care immediately prior to my arrival but nails unhygienic, truly filthy. I concur with CQC 2023 'Requires improvement'.

My mother became a permanent resident in July 2025 after having a trial respite break. The care home has exceeded our expectations. The home is spotlessly clean with beautiful decor in all rooms. The food is excellent. All the staff have been outstanding from the management to nursing staff, care staff,
receptionists, maintenance staff, support staff & hairdressers. Everyone has been friendly, caring and supportive. My mother has settled quickly and is very happy. Our family are confident that she will be well cared for at a vulnerable time of life.

The entrance looks very impressive. I had phoned twice to say that I was coming to visit my friend giving my name etc but noone seemed aware of this.
My friend was obviously very thin and ill and frantically trying to speak but no sound came out.
i quickly worked out that she could write and was perfectly
" with it ".
She had no bell and could not shout out. She wrote No one her cares.
Her huge Tv was on loud but not visible from the position she was in.
She wrote " Wimbledon" She knew it was on. she loved tennis.
She was very distressed and isolated.
The staff did not seem interested . She died the next day

My lovely husband has been a Resident at Kings Lodge for some while now. There are not enough words to express how truly grateful myself and Family are to every member of Staff at Kings Lodge. Staff are so kind and supportive. Going through the process of Dementia diagnosis and then finally having
to accept a Care Home is in the best interests of a much loved husband and father is so hard. My husband receives such outstanding care, physically and mentally 24/7. Residents are encouraged wherever possible to enjoy many facilities at the Home. From a beautiful Craft Room to entertainment in the Lounge etc Family members always made welcome at Kings Lodge, even my little dog who my husband prior to his Dementia, chose and named. I cannot say in words alone how it feels knowing my husband is safe from harm and so well cared for physically and mentally by such well trained and most of all dedicated caring Staff. God Bless you all at Kings Lodge.

My beautiful Nan, was compassionately cared for, by the team at Kings Lodge, as her journey with Dementia, came into it's final path. After a long battle with the disease, as a family, we wanted to make sure her final resting place, was as calm and peaceful as possible and Kings Lodge delivered. We
will never forget, how the staff, nurses and managers, made us feel like part of their family and took care of us all. We were completely blown away, by their empathy, warmth and kindness, in her last days. They cared for her with such gentleness and consideration, and we will never be able to thank the whole team enough, for what they did for her.

My mum has been in the care home for a year with Alzheimer's disease. She hadn't slept in a bed for 5 yrs, & still hadn't for the last year. She was always quite scared of being alone. Recently the staff had tried to get her to bed as this would help with her swollen legs. The kind nursing staff stayed
in the room with her until she fell asleep, they checked on her regularly & made her feel at ease. She has now slept in bed for several days & her legs look so much better. Thank you to all the staff for the kindness & care you give to my mum.

Wonderful place. The difference in my father-in-law is tremendous. He had withdrawn from everything and everyone in his last care home. The team at Kings Lodge have restored his dignity, and he absolutely loves it here. After having a bad experience, they brought him back to his former self. He's happy,
enjoys joining in with everyone and loves his carers. The care is very much tailored to his needs, and we couldn't be more grateful. The home is clean and full of life, and the team are wonderful. We couldn't recommend Kings Lodge enough.

From my first contact with making arrangements to secure a place for my Brother at Kings Lodge, I was very impressed. It's beautifully reminded me of a 4-star hotel. My Brother moved in September 24 and he absolutely loved it, and immediately felt at home. The management team and reception staff are
exceptional, I was welcomed with every visit with a cup of coffee and a chat if I wanted and always made to feel welcome, I felt part of their family. As for the nurses they were incredible, my Brother was terminally ill and this was to be his final resting place, and I know he wouldn't have wanted to of been anywhere else. My brother was a prickly character but the staff just took it all in their stride, they sat with him and talked when he needed to, sang with him and when he was able, danced with him and when he was nearing the end they held his hand and stayed with him, how beautiful was that. When he passed we all cried together, what kindness and humanity these wonderful staff demonstrated.

Amazing place for my nan the best thing we ever did was to put my nan into Kings Lodge my nan loves all the staff there they always make her laugh and smile. I visited Kings Lodge to have a look around for my nan, when I got there I was greeted by the staff in reception who are so lovely, I met both
of the managers they were also very lovely and made us all feel welcome and made us part of their family. The staff are so happy and friendly and always stop to talk to us ask us how our day has been they all communicate very well. The whole place was clean and smelt really nice and clean also key-coded doors so no one can just walk in and out. Fantastic place.

My husband went into the lodge for respite care. Our daughter and I visited the lodge it was the unknown and a particular member of staff made us feel so at ease as did all the staff they all said hello. It was a massive step for us all, but all the staff made us all feel so very welcome, another staff
member and her team were just fantastic with my husband and I, nothing was too much trouble. She always supported me when I was upset and has been such a strength to us, thank you to her. It has been lovely meeting the other residents to and doing activities, the activity coordinators are amazing. Great fun was had by all. Everyone there at Kings Lodge is just brilliant the kindness and how thought they all are is just amazing, It's great how they remember names too. Always smiling, couldn't have wished for a better place for my husband to have respite. I know that if things change I would choose Kings Lodge as it's so reassuring how lovely the staff are and the caring side of things too. Thank you the managers and all your staff.

I was given a room at very short notice and grateful for that. I found the home very comfortable and secure and my outlook on my pending treatment for hip surgery was much improved by the care and reassurance of the staff.
The food was very good and catered for most tastes it seemed.
It was nice

Mum has been at Kings Lodge for 4 years and she is very happy and settled on one of the dementia units. She is so very well looked after by the wonderful caring staff that work so hard looking after the residents.
