For my mum to be living here has reduced the worry and stress for both of us. I cannot recommend Kings Lodge high enough. I encourage everyone who find themselves in a situation similar to us to enquire and visit to see for yourselves. If you meet my mum she will confirm everything that I have written here.
Hi Jeremy, it is our absolute pleasure having mum here with us. Thank you so much for the lovely feedback.
Hi,just wanted to say that my partner Allison has been in kings Lodge for a while now, with young onset dementia, just wanted to say a very big thank you to all the staff on osprey floor for the care they are giving to Allison, I am so grateful for this, really appreciate it thank you for everything you do for my partner
Thankyou so much for your lovely review, it is always so rewarding to hear what a lovely job our team is doing, it is a pleasure to have you and your wife here at Kings Lodge with us.
I have had an excellent experience at Kings Lodge having been admitted as an emergency on end of life care, I needed constant medical attention, the nurses and cares have been so invested in my care, that I have outlived expecations and my quality of life has been the best it has been for many years, in particular what has been most impressive is the willingness to provide care that is person-centred, this also follows through to the activities team, that make an effort to get to know exarly what I enjoy. All of the above is so important to me, but the beautiful home is an added bonus. Many thanks, Team Kings Lodge.
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and moving words. We are so pleased to hear that you have had such a positive experience with us at Kings Lodge, and it is wonderful to know that our team's person-centred approach to care has had such a meaningful impact on your quality of life. My lovely husband has been a Resident at Kings Lodge for some while now. There are not enough words to express how truly grateful myself and Family are to every member of Staff at Kings Lodge. Staff are so kind and supportive. Going through the process of Dementia diagnosis and then finally having to accept a Care Home is in the best interests of a much loved husband and father is so hard. My husband receives such outstanding care, physically and mentally 24/7. Residents are encouraged wherever possible to enjoy many facilities at the Home. From a beautiful Craft Room to entertainment in the Lounge etc Family members always made welcome at Kings Lodge, even my little dog who my husband prior to his Dementia, chose and named. I cannot say in words alone how it feels knowing my husband is safe from harm and so well cared for physically and mentally by such well trained and most of all dedicated caring Staff. God Bless you all at Kings Lodge.
Thank you for your heartfelt message. We're so grateful for your kind words and are honoured to care for your husband. Knowing he feels safe and supported means everything to us. With warmest wishes,The Kings Lodge Team
My beautiful Nan, was compassionately cared for, by the team at Kings Lodge, as her journey with Dementia, came into it's final path. After a long battle with the disease, as a family, we wanted to make sure her final resting place, was as calm and peaceful as possible and Kings Lodge delivered. We will never forget, how the staff, nurses and managers, made us feel like part of their family and took care of us all. We were completely blown away, by their empathy, warmth and kindness, in her last days. They cared for her with such gentleness and consideration, and we will never be able to thank the whole team enough, for what they did for her.
Thank you to all the staff at kings lodge for everything you did for my mum who came to you after three weeks in hospital & was with you for 4 weeks What a wonderful place amazing staff mum loved all the activities & really did well in there so was able to come home
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted your mum enjoyed her time with us and made such good progress. It was a pleasure caring for her!
My mum has been in the care home for a year with Alzheimer's disease. She hadn't slept in a bed for 5 yrs, & still hadn't for the last year. She was always quite scared of being alone. Recently the staff had tried to get her to bed as this would help with her swollen legs. The kind nursing staff stayed in the room with her until she fell asleep, they checked on her regularly & made her feel at ease. She has now slept in bed for several days & her legs look so much better. Thank you to all the staff for the kindness & care you give to my mum.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. We are thrilled that we have been able to make such a positive difference. Best wishes, the manager and team.
Wonderful place. The difference in my father-in-law is tremendous. He had withdrawn from everything and everyone in his last care home. The team at Kings Lodge have restored his dignity, and he absolutely loves it here. After having a bad experience, they brought him back to his former self. He's happy, enjoys joining in with everyone and loves his carers. The care is very much tailored to his needs, and we couldn't be more grateful. The home is clean and full of life, and the team are wonderful. We couldn't recommend Kings Lodge enough.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted that we have been able to make such a positive difference to your dear father in laws well being. Best wishes.
From my first contact with making arrangements to secure a place for my Brother at Kings Lodge, I was very impressed. It's beautifully reminded me of a 4-star hotel. My Brother moved in September 24 and he absolutely loved it, and immediately felt at home. The management team and reception staff are exceptional, I was welcomed with every visit with a cup of coffee and a chat if I wanted and always made to feel welcome, I felt part of their family. As for the nurses they were incredible, my Brother was terminally ill and this was to be his final resting place, and I know he wouldn't have wanted to of been anywhere else. My brother was a prickly character but the staff just took it all in their stride, they sat with him and talked when he needed to, sang with him and when he was able, danced with him and when he was nearing the end they held his hand and stayed with him, how beautiful was that. When he passed we all cried together, what kindness and humanity these wonderful staff demonstrated.
Thank you so much for your wonderful, heartfelt review. You certainly were like part of our family and it was an absolute pleasure to care for your brother. Please feel free to come in and see us at any time. Best wishes.
Amazing place for my nan the best thing we ever did was to put my nan into Kings Lodge my nan loves all the staff there they always make her laugh and smile. I visited Kings Lodge to have a look around for my nan, when I got there I was greeted by the staff in reception who are so lovely, I met both of the managers they were also very lovely and made us all feel welcome and made us part of their family. The staff are so happy and friendly and always stop to talk to us ask us how our day has been they all communicate very well. The whole place was clean and smelt really nice and clean also key-coded doors so no one can just walk in and out. Fantastic place.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are always thrilled to receive such lovely feedback and this will be shared with our wonderful team. Kindest regards.
My husband went into the lodge for respite care. Our daughter and I visited the lodge it was the unknown and a particular member of staff made us feel so at ease as did all the staff they all said hello. It was a massive step for us all, but all the staff made us all feel so very welcome, another staff member and her team were just fantastic with my husband and I, nothing was too much trouble. She always supported me when I was upset and has been such a strength to us, thank you to her. It has been lovely meeting the other residents to and doing activities, the activity coordinators are amazing. Great fun was had by all. Everyone there at Kings Lodge is just brilliant the kindness and how thought they all are is just amazing, It's great how they remember names too. Always smiling, couldn't have wished for a better place for my husband to have respite. I know that if things change I would choose Kings Lodge as it's so reassuring how lovely the staff are and the caring side of things too. Thank you the managers and all your staff.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. The team are always thrilled to receive such lovely feedback. Please do come back and visit us soon.
Mum has been at Kings Lodge for 4 years and she is very happy and settled on one of the dementia units. She is so very well looked after by the wonderful caring staff that work so hard looking after the residents. The activities team also do a fabulous job organising so many different entertainers coming in and all the activities for the residents to watch or get involved in. All the staff are so caring, friendly and welcoming and it's so nice to know my mum is safe and being so well looked after by this lovely team. Thank you all so much.
It's wonderful to hear that your mum is so happy and well looked after at Kings Lodge. It sounds like the staff and activities team are doing an amazing job creating a warm and caring environment for her. Thank you for sharing such a lovely message!
A massive thank you to all the staff. What a difference you made not just in my dad's life but ours too. He called it home, which it had become. His every need was met, you all welcomed him and made him feel safe. Nothing was too much trouble. He was fussy with food but you took that on and exceeded his wishes. When I talk to other people about King's Lodge and how happy my dad was. They say what a difference it is to hear so many positive things. I truly appreciate the love and support you gave us as a family when he sadly didn't wake anymore. Manager and Deputy Manager you made him a home with love and support I will always be grateful.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message. We're so glad to hear he felt at home and cared for. Your kind words mean a lot to everyone here.
A well-appointed caring care home, with excellent food, and friendly professional staff. Room cleaning was carried out at regular intervals and staff competent in carrying out care needs reviewed regularly as required. Patient's requirements such as Optical, are available to suit individual needs. Public rooms are available should the patient require a high level of privacy.
Dear Peter, Thank you for kindly taking the time to review Kings Lodge. We are delighted with your positive comments and we will share them with the team. Warm wishes from the Kings Lode team.
It is always a pleasure to visit her and her carers.
Thank you for your kind words. We're thrilled to hear that your mum is happy and her health has improved since moving in. It's wonderful that visiting her and her carers is such a positive experience. We're committed to maintaining her excellent care and well-being.
There was little to no communication between the home and the hospital as regarding the care plan for her, resulting in problems with her required medication and care needs.
The room allocated was dangerous and fifthly. The bedside light was mangled and twisted, exposing live electrical wires with easy access. The emergency call button on the wall when pressed was faulty as did not notify any of the staff within the facility. The extendable button for the emergency alarm was not fitted. The room stank, there was still crumbs and food residue on the table from the last person to useD the room and the door to the room did not work correctly.
Other patients wandered in and out of private rooms at will, more frequently than the 2 staff that were on duty did.
We are disappointed to read such a negative review, whilst we appreciate that there was a lack of information provided to us from the hospital during our preadmission assessment we endeavoured to rectify this with you during our family meetings. We understand that families are typically invited by...
I would like to leave a review for the excellent care my mother receives at Kings Lodge! She has been at Kings Lodge now for nearly 3 years and in all the time she has been there we couldn't ask for a better care home. Mum has Alzheimer's and dementia which is getting gradually worse. The staff have been wonderful with great care and support for Mum, there are plenty of activities during the day they also take the residents out when they can. Day-to-day care is excellent, the staff are lovely and very caring, and the food is lovely. Mum is always smiling and when asked if she is happy she always replies very happy, she has a lovely room with views of the garden. The home is set in a beautiful setting with trees and a large garden area. I would highly recommend Kings Lodge. 10/10.
Dear Gary, thank you for taking the time to write your lovely review. We are always thrilled to receive such positive comments and we will share this with the team. Best wishes.
Our experience at Kings Lodge was excellent. The staff took exceptional care of my mum, who moved into Osprey wing in August 2023 until she recently passed. It was traumatic to move mum out of her home of 50 years, into a new and unfamiliar place. But from day 1, the staff were friendly and engaging and kind. They got to know Mum and understand her wants and needs, even though she didn't speak very much at this point. This was all so very important as I live overseas and wasn't able to visit often. Mum loved the food and put on weight when she moved in. There are plenty of activities and Mum was always included, even though she preferred to watch rather than join in. I am so grateful that Mum had such an amazing care team supporting and caring for her in her last months. And when I was with Mum in her final hours, they were so very thoughtful and kind to me. My deepest sincerest thank you to you all.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We are deeply honoured to have been able to care for your mum during her time with us at Kings Lodge. It was a privilege to get to know her and to support her needs, especially during such a significant transition. We understand how challenging it must...
King's Lodge is a truly exceptional place. My father was transferred there for end of life care and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the incredible team in the Falcon wing who surrounded him in his final weeks. Everybody was so immensely kind and nothing was too much trouble. At such a challenging time, we felt hugely grateful for the professionalism and thoughtfulness of all the staff we encountered. They really are a uniquely special team who are genuinely dedicated to those in their care and the families alongside. This is a very high calibre home with a true heart for the work it does. Thank you King's Lodge for the dignity and love you showed my Dad in his twilight days - we shall be forever appreciative.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at King's Lodge. We are deeply moved by your heartfelt words and honoured to have been entrusted with your father's end-of-life care. Our Falcon wing team is dedicated to providing compassionate and professional care, and we are...
Based on the care and kindness that my beloved wife has experienced to date, I would recommend Kings Lodge to anyone looking for a Care Home for a loved one with similar mental/physical health issues.
With sincere thanks to all the Admin. Staff together with the Nurses and Care Teams of the 'Falcon' wing.

I have worked in the care field since 2014 and genuinely enjoy it.. I love engaging with the residents and their families and making people smile with my jokes!
Aura Care is so unique as it really is a family and that makes such a difference to its residents.

What do I love about my role? That feeling of knowing that no matter how large or small, you’ve made someone’s day. Both of my roles are varied which I enjoy. I love the administrative areas and client liaison with relatives, however I just adore spending time doing activities. I enjoy being creative and implementing activities that take the residents back to a personal memory. Shop! It gives me great please in just making someone happy and laughing.
Favourite Activity – I’m clearly a repressed Barber! I created this activity and love to “dress the scene” and set the mood. “The Blind Barber” was so popular that the gentleman want it to feature every week. I enjoy it so much and feel I missed my vocation in life!
I also get great pleasure in taking the residents for a walk or push to see my horses. They often come to visit here too.
I’m a qualified Art Restored & Art Consultant and ran my own business for 5 Years and managed a Gallery for 15 years.
Keen Equestrian & have two horses who are located next door so I love to take the residents to visit them. Being outside and keeping active is an absolute passion with rugby and golf leading as some of my favourite sports!
