My sister was moved to Kings Lodge from the hospital. In the beginning, we were concerned that it might be too far from us. The care my sister is receiving is outstanding, everyone is lovely. We could not wish for better care.

Kings Lodge has provided very good care to my uncle. He told us that everyone is so friendly and we as visitors found everyone including the office staff friendly. Management is attentive to your concerns and nothing was too much for them. We are happy to have chosen Kings Lodge.

Dad tested positive for COVID and spent a few weeks in the hospital; luckily, he had recovered, however, it left him in bed and not able to mobilise. Dad becomes depressed, and there was not much he wanted to do. We moved Dad to Kings Lodge for 4 months where he had the best care possible, Dad has not only recovered his abilities to walk but has made so many friends that made him so happy and gave him a new lease of life. We cannot be more satisfied with his care and the dedication everyone has given to Dad.

Dad has been living in a home, due to the nature of my father's mental health he needed relocation. This was a huge step as Dad became very fond of the people he was living with. Kings Lodge has not only managed to help us and dad move but he has settled very quickly as he found the staff very friendly and caring. Dad absolutely loves everyone in the home and speaks very highly of them. It is good that Kings Lodge offers all types of care and it is very reassuring to know that Dad will not have to move again. We cannot fault the team at Kings Lodge, they are doing everything they can to keep everyone happy in this very unsettled time.

My nan lives at Kings Lodge and we could not, as a family, be happier. The way Kings Lodge has been looking after Nan has been amazing. She is enjoying life to the best of her capabilities. Nan has made friends among staff and other residents. We feel safe knowing that Nan is in safe hands.

My step dad had had bad experiences at previous care homes until he moved to Kings Lodge. He was not the easiest of people to care for and quite demanding with long term health and dietary needs. The compassion shown him by the whole staff team, their care planning, dedication and patience were second to none. He received end of life care that was dignified and made his last few months happy ones for him.

My mum has been a resident at Kings Lodge for the last 10 months. We visited numerous homes prior to Mum moving here and as soon as we walked in, we knew it was the right choice. Mum is extremely happy here, is well cared for and is treated with the utmost respect and dignity. There are plenty of activities to enjoy but she never feels pressured into joining in with anything if she doesn't want to. She enjoys her meals, which are freshly cooked in-house. We would have no hesitation in recommending Kings Lodge to anyone and are extremely grateful to everyone there for making my mum feel safe, comfortable, happy and well looked after.

My grandad was living in a different care home that wasn't particularly nice. He moved to Kings Lodge. The home is absolutely beautiful. The unit manager of his community was extremely kind and clearly very knowledgeable. She produced a comprehensive care plan which her team followed without question. My grandad was very precise about his care and the entire team went over and above to ensure he was happy at all times. He had a lactose intolerance which the home was able to cater for easily. My grandad received end of life care within the home and was treated with dignity and respect until the very end. I cannot thank them enough for the care he received in his final months.

My mother is so happy and well cared for. I cannot fault her care.

In this strange uncertain year of 2020, I have never felt worried for my mother's safety. The staff take all the necessary precautions to keep residents protected from Covid-19 to the best of their control. They all deserve medals.

My father was looking for a placement within the Surrey area, he was very anxious about the move but thanks to the exceptional team at Kings Lodge my dad was made to feel very welcome. Dad has been at Kings Lodge since Sept 2019. It was a big step for him but he was unable to cope at home on his own anymore. The surroundings, staff and care provided are way above any other care homes we visited in the area. It is comforting to know he is being well cared for.

Overall Experience

My father (I am his POA) has been at Kings Lodge Care Home for 18months. The home itself is very nice decor and the wooded location is very impressive. However, we felt that the standard of care has been poor. My father has dementia and the staff did not appear well trained. My father's fingernails were left uncut for months (leading to him scratching his face), he lost significant weight and was clearly not being reminded to shower/clean and there was also no adequate care plan in place. We raised our concerns with his care team but were told either it would happen (but never did) or there is nothing to be concerned about. We recently moved him (last three weeks) to a new home and the difference is in care/attitude at the new home is incredible. I, therefore, have a very good benchmark of what good/bad care looks like. I would really not recommended Kings Lodge as our experience is that there are better care homes out there.

Just an amazing experience, one I could not have imagined. My aunt was admitted in January with Dementia and passed last week. The care and attention was just wonderful and in the final hours made it easier for my uncle and our family. Lovely decor and rooms, the most caring and diligent of staff. I cannot speak highly enough of King's Lodge. I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone.

I was repatriated after breaking a leg badly while skiing. I needed somewhere easy to stay for a week to mobilise and start rehab. Aged 58, there were a few options and Kings Lodge was ideal. I had a good room and the caring staff arranged physio for me. There were good facilities for visitors and the food was good. Whilst not primarily set up for short stays, they could not have been more helpful.

My parents moved to Kings Lodge in September 2017 from another care home in Camberley that failed to live up to expectations. They both flourished at Kings Lodge, but sadly my dad passed away in October. I was concerned my mother would be unsettled by the loss of her husband of 73 years, but the care and compassion shown by all the front line staff have ensured that she continues to be very content and happy in her home. There are too many of the team to mention all by name, but special thanks goes to a few specific members of staff plus all those back room folk from the cleaners who keep the place immaculate to the catering team who make appetising meals and great cakes.

I was amazed at the whole experience at Kings Lodge. The staff are very friendly, the food is of extremely good quality and the facilities second to none. If I were to end my days here I would be more than happy.

I have worked in the care field since 2014 and genuinely enjoy it.. I love engaging with the residents and their families and making people smile with my jokes!

What do I love about my role? That feeling of knowing that no matter how large or small, you’ve made someone’s day. Both of my roles are varied which I enjoy. I love the administrative areas and client liaison with relatives, however I just adore spending time doing activities. I enjoy being creative and implementing activities that take the residents back to a personal memory. Shop! It gives me great please in just making someone happy and laughing.

Favourite Activity – I’m clearly a repressed Barber! I created this activity and love to “dress the scene” and set the mood. “The Blind Barber” was so popular that the gentleman want it to feature every week. I enjoy it so much and feel I missed my vocation in life!

I also get great pleasure in taking the residents for a walk or push to see my horses. They often come to visit here too.

I’m a qualified Art Restored & Art Consultant and ran my own business for 5 Years and managed a Gallery for 15 years.

Keen Equestrian & have two horses who are located next door so I love to take the residents to visit them. Being outside and keeping active is an absolute passion with rugby and golf leading as some of my favourite sports!
