View Full Details of Mulberry House Residential HomeMy mum lived at Mulberry House for two and a half years until she passed away peacefully. She was always so complimentary about the staff, their professionalism and compassion, their friendliness and caring approach. As her son living in a different country, it gave me great comfort that she so well looked after by such caring staff.
The moment I stepped into Mulberry House, I felt very welcome. Someone showed me to my room, the room was very nice on the second floor. Several staff members helped me to feel at ease. The food was very nice. if I felt hungry, I would ask for a cup of tea and biscuits. Staff were always popping in to see if I needed anything. Lots of activities to join in if I wished. Had my hair washed and dried each week I was there. Overall, a lovely stay while my daughter was away.
The staff are always friendly and try to be helpful, cleaners and support team, gardener and chef really high standards. Rooms, cleaned well, but they could do with some updates in some cases. Lounge, library, very nice spaces and good for quiet chats, meetings, tea etc. Food seems good and home-cooked, lovely gardens. good social and activity options. More evidence of joined-up thinking between medics, the elderly, the Mental Health Team and family would be helpful.
The staff, without exception, were always kind, helpful and gave my mother-in-law the best care. She really enjoyed her chats with such friendly staff, and she loved joining in all the activities and entertainment. With the careful management of her medication, she recovered a lot over the first few months up to a year. Her care was specific to her changing capabilities, which gave her some happy times. The staff made it comfortable for the family to visit, and excellent communication of her needs. She also loved the food.
The team at Mulberry House have been wonderful at insuring my nan has settled in well since moving there. In December even providing extra care when necessary. Nan has improved dramatically since her move and seems far more happy and content. The staff are always friendly and helpful making visiting a pleasant experience Thank you all for your hard work! I could not recommend Mulberry House highly enough.
Each one of the staff at Mulberry House made my father very welcome. The care was excellent and support was given not just to my father, but the whole family. Thank you very much as these times can be very emotional.
My sister moved into Mulberry House last year as she had recently been diagnosed with Dementia. She has been treated with kindness and warmth and is very happy there. The staff and Manager went out of their way to welcome her and encourage any activities she might enjoy. It has made a potentially difficult and traumatic change, much easier for her to accept.
My 95-year-old father-in-law moved into Mulberry house in January of this year. He was in a very frail condition, having found it increasingly hard to look after himself at home. Within weeks, the care and attention that he received has been transformational. He is now enjoying life again, and has regained that sparkle in his eye. We have not met many of the staff, but have so far been very impressed with two of them, and very much look forward to meeting their colleages.
My father (95yrs) suffered a fall/infection 2 weeks before becoming a resident at Mulberry House. He was no longer able to live alone safely. A few weeks on and he's clearly feeling content and settled. He says he loves the food and finds all the staff very friendly and helpful. We as a family know he is safe and being very well cared for which brings everyone huge peace of mind.
Mum came to Mulberry in August 2022 after falls at home and a recent diagnosis of Alzheimer's. I already knew of the home, it had a good reputation although was in CQC special measures when I first visited but I was very happy with the home itself, the staff I met, and how they planned to care for Mum. They explained why the CQC report wasn't good and that made sense to me. Mum didn't settle in straight away and wanted to stay in her room but gradually she was persuaded to integrate. The level of care has been second to none. I've visited twice weekly on average and I have never had any concerns. There is always a member of staff with residents, a constant flow of food and drink, meals and snacks, birthday cakes for residents, loads of activities, sing-a-longs, quiet films, games, chats etc. The staff are wonderful, they are kind, respectful and friendly, to both mum and me. Regarding fees divide the monthly cost by 30 days then 24 hrs equals less than £9 per hour for 24 hr care.
My wife has been a permanent resident at Mulberry House since March 2024 due to an inability to walk at all. The care is first class and I cannot think of anything detrimental which could be said about this business. My age is 94.
My dear friend has moved into Mulberry House after a hospital stay. All the staff from the administration to the manager are all so kind and caring. The home is always very clean and the room is very nice with a door to her own patio. Thank you for all your kindness.
Thank you all so much for looking after my special friend. It is always difficult moving into full-time care but all the staff have made sure that she feels at home. The home is beautiful as are the gardens. Always lots of choices for meals and snacks.
I simply cannot speak highly enough of Mulberry House, it is in all respects of exceptional quality, operating to very high standards. The house and grounds are like a good country house hotel, gracious yet homely, with delightful sitting rooms, a library and a dining room. The staff are welcoming, smiley, friendly, respectful and efficient, happy to assist in any way to ensure the comfort and well-being of the residents. Food is excellent, varied and plentiful.
I cannot recommend Mulberry House enough. Mum went there 5 months ago and is there now permanently. The care she has received has been amazing. The staff are so caring and well organised. Nothing is too much trouble, Mum is looked after and her dignity is a priority. If Mum is not well, the carers are on it straightaway with the doctor. It is a great comfort to me and the family that she is cared for so well and is happy in her new home and takes part in many of the activities offered. It is also located in beautiful surroundings.
My father received excellent care during his time at the Mulberry House. I am very grateful to the staff for their support and compassion.
The care shown to my mother during her 2-week convalescence stay was exemplary. Mulberry House was respectful of her wishes throughout and offered her great support. She has visibly gained strength during her time there. During her stay, her visitors have been impressed by the positive, caring and welcoming approach of all the team there. Thank you.
Just wanted to leave a review for the amazing team at Mulberry. My elderly Dad was admitted in an emergency following a hip dislocation. As Dad has dementia too it was very confusing for him. All the staff were so kind and patient with him. I am not sure they had come across anyone who chewed their food as many times as dear Dad did including water! Everyone was so respectful to him and our visits were made so much better as we were always greeted by a smiling face. We are now in a position to be able to bring Dad home but would like to say a big thank you to everyone who cared for him.
My mother-in-law has lived in Mulberry House for over a year now. It was a difficult decision for her to move to a care home but we really should not have worried as she is so wonderfully looked after. The staff are so friendly and attentive. There are so many lovely activities on offer plus they go the extra mile and do things of interest to individual residents. The premises are beautifully decorated and furnished and always clean. I would not hesitate to recommend Mulberry House.
The care home has a heart. Kindly and warm. Care is distinctly personal and loving.
