View Full Details of Barchester Melbourn Springs Care HomeHi, my mum has been a resident for 4 years at Melbourne, she has been very happy there and the staff have been very attentive, the chef provides great food and the staff also seem to be happy. Sadly mum died recently and Melbourn allowed a lovely service for me and my family. I can honestly say it was the best decision I made to move mum from the North of England so that I could see her more easily, from start to the end she was in a loving setting. I would recommend to anyone considering this home for their nearest and dearest.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. If there are any issues they are always resolved immediately and do not recur. My mother is very content there. There are plenty of opportunities to do activities. My mother enjoys the meals.
Respite care for 2 weeks faultless, amazing care, spotless facilities, first class service all round. A HUGE THANKYOU Managerial staff enquired about everything and wanted to know everything about mum to make it the best experience for her, took time to talk to me and mum and gain lots of information to get things right.
I have had daily dealings with the care home for 4.5 years ,we have seen many ups and downs with previous management more downs ,but can honestly say the new manager has gone above and beyond to help and make changes and listen and respects our opinions and explains in very true respectful manner of reason behind things ,and in a short time I am now back loving this care home I've been around other care homes and can't find anything that comes close to how this is now thank you so much, look forward to seeing more staff as the residents rise in numbers Also a very big thank you to all staff including the cleaning team as it's so much better thank you all again
My husband actually spent a week in Respite at Melbourne Springs whilst I was having a hip replacement . He was well looked after and kept safe as he suffers from PSP . He didnot want to socialise whilst there but was able to eat well at a table as he does at home . He said the Staff were lovely and friendly but he was naturally pleased to be home ! It was for peace of mind that I chose MS for his stay .
An excellent care home. Very friendly and caring from management through to carers, with excellent support also from facilities organisers, friendly reception staff, etc. Always seems clean, peaceful, and welcoming when I visit my centenarian mother(frequently). They do what they can to make the resident comfortable, safe, and happy. I know from personal experience that the manager (Vimu) is genuinely caring and this flows down to the team. I'd recommend it.
I am very pleased with the contact I've with all the personnel! You are very attentafull (!) for my sister! Thanks to all of you.
Just brilliant under the new temporary manager. Food & housekeeping is excellent as is maintenance & gardens. Team is great.
Lovely home with staff that care and feel part of the family. My Mum has struggled at times and the staff have worked really hard to find ways to help her. I can say that over the last few months she has been the happiest she has been during her dementia journey
My husband is well looked after & cared for. We enjoy the activities and meals together.
Taken brilliant care of my grandad, good services, entertainment and care.
A very reassuring experience to see my former teacher in spotless accommodation and cared for by friendly, respectful, considerate, cheerful, understanding staff, who were also prompt, welcoming and helpful to visitors. The atmosphere was calm - unlike some care homes, staff didn't seem rushed off their feet. Lunch was excellent! And served better than in most top-class hotels. Personally I liked the staff's smart uniforms, the formality inspired confidence. I look forward to visiting again.
My mother has been a resident of Melbourn springs for about 6 months. I am very pleased and impressed with the care she gets. All the staff (carers, activities team, admin etc.) are friendly and kind. There is a wide variety of activities for residents with kindly encouragement to attend. The facilities are modern, clean, well maintained and well designed. The food is varied and from what I can tell from the occasions where I have shared. well prepared and tasty. Management at the home try to make it a home for residents and involve relatives in various activities. Recent examples are Mother's Day celebration and Melbourn Spring's 5th birthday party I would highly recommend
Had a fabulous afternoon celebrating Melbourn Springs 5th Birthday. Lovely garden party with BBQ and sing a long with Charlie Chaplin. Congratulations to all involved in organising the party and thank you for your hard work, to all the staff, too many to mention, however, I would like to single out the general manager and her family, along with the activities lead and another staff member for their extra efforts in ensuring everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Well done
My relative was resistant to coming to a care home but has been so welcomed and nurtured by Melbourn Springs staff that she is happy now. Every member of staff is helpful, friendly and caring. There are activities every day to include all residents if they so choose. The building is well designed to facilitate easy living for residents with suitable socialising spaces for visits. The friends and families are included for many entertainments. Very good food.
Very impressed with the caring staff and level of care offered. Mum stayed a week for respite care. The home is very clean and smart. The dining room bright and airy with proper linen table cloths, comfortable chairs and delicious meals from a varied menu. Tea and coffee and cakes available all day. Efficiently run and very smooth check in and departure. Brilliant entertainment offered as well. Would highly recommend.
Most importantly, the staff are extremely helpful and kind. I will have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
My husband has been in Barchester Melbourn Springs Care Home for just over a year. The carers all treat him with respect, compassion and are always very supportive. He was born in Liverpool so has that wonderful sense of humour which is reciprocated by all the staff making him smile. He especially enjoys those activities which involve music and animals. The home is kept so clean and fresh which I know is hard work and the food is delicious. If you don't like what you see they will always provide something else. It is so comfortable, like a home from home. It took me a long time to find the right place for him. It is comforting for me to know that he is in safe hands and happy.
My Mother in Law lived at Barchester Melbourn Springs Care Home for 5 months before she passed away in November 2024. She also went there for respite stays a few times over the years leading up to moving there permanently. We cannot fault this care home. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and the food is really good. The staff are all so caring and kind - especially one member of staff in particular who was exceptionally kind and caring (both to my husband and I, and to my mother in law). Melbourn Springs is a wonderful place. Thank you very much for everything you did.
My mum has been a resident for three months. The staff are incredibly compassionate and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure the well-being and comfort of their residents. The facilities are clean and well maintained creating a welcoming and safe environment. My mum enjoys the variety of activities offered. We were also delighted that during the summer we were able to use one of the lounges to visit with extended family and are always offered a coffee/tea. Overall I would highly recommend Melbourn Springs to anyone seeking a caring and supportive environment for their loved ones. The dedication of the staff and the quality of care provided have made a significant difference in Mum's life.
