View Full Details of Kingsacre Care HomeMy aunt receives excellent care. The staff are all very welcoming and attentive. I do feel sometimes there can be breakdown in communication, but any issues are resolved quickly. The home has a calm feel about it. I was pleased to receive communication about a permanent manager, although there were no issues with the temporary ones. I feel consistency is essential in the care environment. I am kept up to date with any health matters or issues. My aunt chooses not to join in the activities, she doesn't see herself as requiring care and likes to be independent which is encouraged.
From my aunt being assessed in hospital for Kingsacre to her entry, very professional. All the staff in the care home have always kept us up to date on her latest health issues. The home is in a quiet location. Social activities are good. Never been in for dinner, but lunch looked great. Always plenty of staff on hand to make sure residents are attended too. All in all a great place for my aunt.
My relative has been a resident at Kingsacre since December 2024 and has settled into this environment as well as could be expected. I find the staff who care for residents are extremely caring, respectful and engaging with residents. Other staff members ie housekeeping etc are also very pleasant and helpful. I have peace of mind my relative is safe and well looked after which is all I can ask for.
My mother has received wonderful care from Kingsacre over the past 2 years. However, more recently there has been a lot of changes with staff. This has been a disappointment as my mum had a very caring, thoughtful and helpful key worker/care assistant who knew my mum and myself well. With the staff changes, the key worker was moved to another unit, which wasn't helpful with communication. Everyone is lovely and caring, but communication and continuity is the key with loved ones and their families.
My mum joined the Kingsacre family in April after spending last summer there in respite. She has Alzheimer's and has been cared for by my dad and us until it became too much for her. Kingsacre has settled her in well, including activities and days out. My dad visits most days and they have made him feel so welcome which has been so comforting for him as putting my mum into care was such a hard and upsetting decision for him and us.
This is the best care home I've ever seen. It's a real relief to know that my gran lives in a place with staff who genuinely care for her and her needs, keeping her safe and responding quickly in emergencies. The facilities and activities are great, but it's the staff who make it what it is. Keep up the good work!
Every member of staff I've met go above and beyond for the residents, I can't fault them at all. They are all wonderful. They welcome visitors with open arms and make you so welcome. They also love my wee dog when he visits with me. Fantastic care home 100%.
From the minute my mum became a resident, everything has been amazing - the staff really care about the residents and treat us like family. It was the best decision for my mum to go to the best home - thank goodness we found that in Kingsacre - I can't recommend this place highly enough.
I have been a regular visitor to a dear friend since August 2019. Both my friend and her sister received an excellent standard of care throughout their time at Kingsacre. From the staff who welcomed them in 2019, who are still working at the home, to the staff who cared for my friend after her sister’s death. Sadly she, too, has now passed but survived her sister for almost five years. Throughout those years, Kingsacre staff built her up after a hospital stay and supported us throughout the COVID pandemic. Always appreciated the ‘open door’ policy of the manager and the approachability of all staff. Any issues were listened to and dealt with. Two words only - Thank you.
Since I am a reasonable distance from the care home and don't manage to visit too often I have requested a phone connection in the room. To date nothing has happened other than that I found the home and staff to be very good.
Mum has settled into Kingsacre reasonably well, however, after an incident of assault by another resident she became a bit unsettled. One of her primary care requirements was to ensure she had her hearing aids in daily and I had to feedback many times to staff and management to ensure this was done before it was carried out. She now needs encouragement to put them in as she fears losing them.
By choice, my uncle confines himself to his room, even eating his meals there. I've always found staff to be caring and sympathetic to his needs. On occasion when he has had an 'incident', staff have always contacted me to update on his situation. I'm very happy with the care and support he gets from Kingsacre.
Staff in Buckingham take excellent care of my friend. They are always very welcoming.
Mum has been a resident at Kingsacre for more than two years where she has been well cared for in a clean, warm and safe environment. Lovely staff who always have time to chat and encourage residents to take part in activities.
I have found Kingsacre to be welcoming, comfortable and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, you feel confident that your relative is going to be well cared for. Members of staff always acknowledge you when you arrive to visit and are always on hand to answer any questions or worries you may have. All the residents are encouraged to join in any of the activities on offer each day which is another big plus.
My father and I are totally happy and content now that my mother is receiving the care and support that she needs. Kingsacre is a really good care home and the staff are great at what they do best and seem to have so much time for the residents and have built up a relationship which is so important as these are the go-to people for our loved ones. The only downside sometimes is the communication, I feel that we are not informed about some of the key things, such as reviews (6 monthly), changes to key carers etc. Happy to discuss this further.
My mother moved to Kingsacre late last year and since she moved, she has received outstanding care. Her dementia is fairly advanced, but she is still encouraged and assisted to actively participate in life in the home.
Carers and managers and everyone else on staff all seem upbeat and positive. Friend always treated kindly. It would be nice if food dribbles on clothes were cleaned up and glasses cleaned regularly.
We visited a number of possible homes for my Mum and she chose Kingsacre in advance of needing to live there. We agreed with the choice and I am very pleased that we all did. Her room is warm, bright and comfortable and the staff have been excellent. The staff are seemingly always bright and cheery and know everyone's name and are up to date with any issues or concerns and look out for their residents. We were concerned about a possible UTI and on calling them, Kingsacre staff had already discussed the situation with her GP and had antibiotics ordered. We are confident that she is safe, warm and well cared for and that is a huge relief for the family.
This home has a warm feeling when you walk in the doors. The staff are friendly and the nurses are knowledgeable. All the staff work well together. The management has an open-door policy and is friendly and welcoming. Residents are at the forefront of everything they do.
