My 97 year old mother with Alzheimer's was admitted to Oakfield at the end of June as a self funded resident. We chose Oakfield after research online and visiting the home. At every stage from first contact, we have had outstanding help and support from every member of the Care Home team with accurate, honest and transparent information and advice throughout. My mum has been cared for in an exceptionally kind, considerate and personalised manner with dignity at all times and consequently is setting in well. The care home is immaculately clean and well maintained and has a wonderful and evident warm and friendly culture in everything they do. Their communication with family is excellent and the facilities, activities and opportunities at the home for mum are first class. As a family we are completely satisfied and confident that mums best care and wellbeing are continually being maintained by the brilliant staff team at Oakfield Croft.
My auntie has been a resident at Oakfield Croft now for about 18 months. She has dementia and had got to the point where she wasn't safe living alone. The transition into residential care was made much easier due to the professionalism and care of all the staff there. She tells everyone now how lucky she is to live in such a beautiful place. She enjoys all the activities, the food, her friends and the staff. It's such a relief to know that she is well looked after and happy. (Also the coffee and cakes in the cafe downstairs are fab!)
My husband came into the Home for three weeks Respite care in May. We were welcomed and I think he was made to feel OK even tho' I was leaving him there. We found the staff very welcoming and friendly and always helpful and smiling. The entrance was a delightful sitting area where residents & visitors could get refreshments and enjoy going out into the gardens. The admin staff were also friendly and helpful. I believe my husband enjoyed and joined in any organised activities encouraged I am sure by the Staff. Altogether a happy Respite and I would love him to have a further stay at Oakcroft
Regarding it's food, I have a very plain diet due to irritable bowel so often have to choose sandwiches and salad.
Making the decision to place Dad in a care home was very difficult but having visited Oakfield Croft and meeting some of the staff beforehand reassured us this was the right home for him. The staff are very warm and welcoming not just with Dad but with all of his family too. He is well cared for, food menu is very good, he has a lovely room and the communal areas are very comfortable.
My mum has recently been taken into Oakfield Care Home, the staff have been brilliant with her helping her settle in they are polite professional and caring, the building is lovely and modern, rooms are well maintained food is excellent, considering how upsetting it can can be moving a loved one into care they have been brilliant, too many brilliant staff to list.
My friend moved into Oakfield in October. We had visited their company and cuppa events many times and found the staff exceptionally friendly and supportive. The rooms are nicely decorated and spotless. All staff have been immensely helpful and caring. They understand my friend's needs and they have got to know him and his needs to enable a comfortable transition into care.
My experience with Oakfield Croft has been wonderful, it has made what can be a distressing time into a very pleasant task done with lots of thought and personalised care for my friend. Staff have done all that they can to make her most welcome, they have got to know her likes and dislikes and my friend has settled in very quickly.
My mum has been a resident for over 18 months. Staff throughout the home know her and interact with her whenever they see her. There are numerous activities across the week as well as daily exercises. Mum especially loves it when the nursery children come in. Her weekly hairdressing appointment helps keep her looking good. From the moment I walk in to the minute I leave the Oakfield family is welcoming, providing a safe space for Mum, lots of interaction and a very personal touch.
From the 26th of August my dad will have been at Oakfield Croft for three years and he is loving every moment of his stay. The care and love he receives from the staff, from the laundry people to the manager and everyone else in between, has been 100%. This is reciprocated by Dad who says it's home from home. So it's a huge thank you to everyone at Oakfield Croft and Care UK.
My father has been in Oakcroft since December last year. It was a very difficult and emotional decision to make but Andrea, Mike and the whole team were incredibly understanding, and that helped greatly. Oakcroft is a modern, beautifully furnished Care home. The staff could not be more friendly. It really feels like a small family/community. And as the home is not too big, it is easy to get to know everyone, including the regular family visitors. Who also become part of the support network.
My dad spent a month at Oakfield Croft to give my mum respite as his primary carer. My dad was apprehensive but from the moment he arrived he settled right in. The Customer Relations Manager, Home Manager and the staff member in reception made us all very welcome. My dad was shown his room a few days ahead and we talked about his stay. The standard of cleanliness, decor, facilities and attention to detail were wonderful. All the care team were kind, attentive and very welcoming. My dad was always treated with respect and dignity, with care needs tailored to him. My dad's difficulties were in relation to mobility. The carers encouraged him to keep walking using a wheelchair when needed. The food is also second to none. Breakfast, lunch and dinner; always varied. Small touches such as homemade cakes, cookies, fruit, hot drinks were available in the coffee shop to residents and their visitors. Early doors in the cinema room each Friday, was fun and my dad enjoyed his Gin and Tonic. We highly recommend Oakfield Croft.
Oakfield Croft is an amazing place. The staff are extremely caring and understanding. They are always keen to help and improve the service. Staff are sympathetic to residents needs and feelings. It is a relief to know that Mum is being cared for as I would like, I never have to worry about her.
I loved Oakfield Croft from the day I first visited and the Customer relations manager showed me around. I knew my auntie would love her new home and she has thrived since moving here and looks physically better. The environment is nothing like a typical care home that I had in my mind. It is spotlessly clean and smells fresh. When I’ve brought other relatives and friends along to visit, they’ve commented that it’s like a hotel. My auntie had a minor issue with the food in the beginning but this was soon resolved after speaking to the chef. All the staff are lovely and always make time to discuss any aspects of care, even though they’re obviously busy in their roles and work hard. One staff member in particular is passionate about the residents' daily activity timetable. In fact, when I call to speak to my auntie she’s often participating in a gentle exercise class, bingo or even flower arranging. My mind is at ease knowing my auntie is being looked after so well at Oakfield Croft and most importantly, that she is happy.
My friend entered Oakfield Croft in June 2022 following her husband's death. As her attorney under an LPA I have responsibility for her care and I visit her at least twice weekly. From reception staff to carers, cleaners, nurses and management the commitment to care is excellent, is provided with a smile, and an understanding of the problems that residents experience. The facilities are second to none, the food is varied and of high quality and always supported by daily menus that are displayed for all to see. A weekly activities schedule includes cinema, games, seated physical exercises, trips out, and external performers. The cafe is a vibrant area for residents and visitors to share cakes and coffee. Birthdays are celebrated for all. There is meticulous attention to health and welfare and to keeping family and friends fully informed. My 90-year-old friend is happy, loves her en suite room and enjoys the indoor/outdoor garden areas. Oakfield has exceeded my expectations.
Oakfield Croft made a special day for my brother. They arranged a visit from his ex-employer. 3 vintage police vehicles and a current riot van came together with 2 ex-police officers and 2 current PCSOs. The customer relations manager created a display board with all his achievements. My brother loved his special day, the police force also sent some cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. The extra touches and effort by the Oakfield staff were amazing. This day aside I find all the staff extremely caring and accommodating. One lady accompanied my brother to the funeral of his son and took really special care of him. All the staff from housekeeping, catering, admin and carers up to management and enrichment staff are extremely caring and helpful. The relatives meetings are very useful for us to help us understand our loved ones better and voice any concerns we may have.
My lovely mother has moved into this beautiful home and she couldn’t be happier. She is being well looked after in every way by a very caring and responsive team. The warmth, pure professionalism and actually being listened to and heard, gives us all the reassurance we need to know we made the best decision.
My mum has been a resident for three and a half years. She had dementia and significantly deteriorated over that time and passed away very recently. I cannot fault the care she was given particularly in her final 48 hours. I would like to personally thank the team working on those last two days, they made Mum very comfortable and she just drifted away.
Staff very caring. Always happy to help with anything. Mum has settled in so well and loves all the staff. The meals are excellent, always a good variety of choices. The cafe area is very good as it feels like visitors have somewhere to go. Activities great.
After searching for several months for a care home I was very disillusioned with what I was seeing until I visited Oakfield Croft. The minute we walked through the door we were greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness from the Oakfield Family (staff). This has continued to date, the staff of all levels from management to housekeeping take time to chat with the residents and their families. Also impressed with how quickly the staff get to know your name when they see so many relatives and their friends. Mum has settled better than we had ever hoped for. She is a people person and enjoys giving and receiving hugs, which are plentiful, particularly from the staff within all departments. Caring for my mum for the last two years hasn't been easy so handing over the reins for me was difficult, but now with the care and attention she is receiving, I'm enjoying quality time with mum on my visits. Keep up the good work, I have already recommended Oakfield Croft to friends.
