View Full Details of Abbey Wood Park Nursing HomeMy dad has been a resident at Abbey Wood Park since January 2025. All the staff are amazing dads care is spot on. The building feeling safe and welcoming always clean. To be honest I can't say enough. Dads settled safe and happy. Thank you to you all
Mum was given the most fantastic care, treated with dignity by every member of staff. She arrived non verbal, unable to feed herself and sleeping 23 hours a day ( and had been for 10 months) within days- literally- she was up, dressed, cracking jokes and laughing. What a transformation and it was wonderful for us to see her to interact again. We finally felt she was safe and receiving the care she deserved, if only her previous home had been even half as good. Sadly mum died 6 months after she became a resident ( at 99 & 11 months) but the care ALL the staff gave her and their compassion towards all our family will not be forgotten.
The best most caring nursing home in Liverpool we are so lucky we found you, the manager and all the team go above and beyond for all residents and support the family aswell we would be lost without you thank you
My mum has been residing at Abbey Wood Park Nursing Home for 12 months, she had a 5 grade ulcer on her back which was 8cms, it is now 2cms by 2cms approximately. The care my 95 year old mother has been receiving has been outstanding due to all staff, there care is excellent in every way. Nothing is too much trouble, I was a HCA for 14 years and what I have seen from all staff is excellent.
Our dad was in a nursing home in Huyton he was very unhappy we had to wash and shower him in our visits it was not a nice place we moved him to Abbeywood before Christmas and he has thrived we don't have to do nothink on our visits we can spend time with our dad he is well looked after spotless and a different man he's very content the staff are amazing and the management are always involved keep you up to date with everythink we are made so welcome when we visit as a family and seeing dad so content make us happy when we have to go home knowing he is in safe hands they always have somethink on for any occasion and all family's are invited along such a loving and caring home and smells lovely spotless well done to the managers and all staff
Staff are excellent and very caring. Nothing is too much for them. The accommodation is lovely and always kept clean and tidy. The meals are varied and very good portions. There is entertainment regularly on various themes. The gardens are great for when the weather is good. All in all Abbey Wood Park is a very well run Nursing Home.
Mum has only been at Abbey Wood for a few weeks, but already she seems very settled. This is 100% down to the staff, who are all just excellent. Mum has been made to feel completely at home, and they are all lovely with her, not only her but also us as family members are welcomed every time we arrive. The home is lovely and clean and has lots of activities to keep everyone busy each day. We are lucky and grateful that after a few different homes, Mum has ended up here. If you get the chance to send a loved one here, do not think twice.
My mum had had a very poor care journey until now. It's been over a year to get to where we are now and Abbey Wood Park was what we dreamed of and now she is here. The staff are just wonderful, they have made Mum feel so welcome, she likes to hug them all and they are all obliging. When we arrive, she is almost in a predicament as to whether she wants to leave them to be with us. They all call her by her name constantly, they do with everyone and talk to all the residents with love and dignity. The home is very welcoming for us too, and although Mum has only been there for a couple of weeks, we know she will get the constant love and care she needs. It can sometimes be distressing for Mum to see us leave and even when this is emotionally hard for us, I know that she has the support she needs to get her contented again. If you are lucky enough to have a relative here, they will thrive, they will laugh, they will be helped to make the most of the time left. Thank you.
If you are looking for the best care available for a loved one, this is the place. The care at Abbey Wood Park is exceptional. My mother became a resident four months ago and has settled really well. Following a six-week stay in hospital she was discharged with very severe pressure sores which had not been treated. However, the moment she arrived the team immediately commenced treatment. Within a few weeks, the sores had healed. Their attentive care has resulted in Mum, at 94 years of age, starting to mobilise again, which I never thought would happen. When she has felt unwell, staff have always sought medical advice if needed. This is so reassuring. Mum talks about how wonderful the staff are and how she enjoys laughing with them. Their warmth, caring and approachable manner have given me such confidence that she is truly receiving the very best of care. I am very grateful to the manager and all the staff for providing such tender loving care. Thank you so much.
Our father was a resident at Abbey Wood care home in Fazakerley. We chose Abbey Wood because of the reviews we read on the website. Unfortunately it wasn't a very good experience for us, our father although was ill and needed 24 hour care. He was and still is sound in mind, he was aware of his needs, unlike most of the patients at the home. He was very unhappy at Abbey Wood, as it was a lonely place to live your last few months of life. He needed more than they could offer. We as a family decided to take him home and care for him ourselves. All I can say is do your homework before choosing a care /nursing home for your loved ones. Spend some time in the environment, go at meal times, check the care plans. Ask questions as it's important to know where you are leaving your loved ones for the rest of the days.
I always find the staff very cheerful and helpful. My Auntie is well looked after. She doesn't join in with any activities as she is bed bound but they always seem to be doing a variety of different activities that the residents enjoy. When my auntie was 90 they worked with us to organise a party for her and the other residents and welcomed our big family group.
My mother had been in a care home before she moved to Abbeywood and wow what a difference! At Abbeywood she was treated so well by every professional, caring member of staff. She was stimulated and encouraged to join in activities, of which there were many, she made cakes and Xmas decorations, I even saw my mum dance, something I hadn't seen in a very long time! The management team at Abbeywood is second to none, very hands-on, always present interacting with residents and family members, and creating a very very well-run, excellent home. The staff, from the senior carers, the activities manager to the cook are professional, friendly and very approachable, nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble for them. This review doesn't begin to express what a welcoming, well-run care home Abbeywood is, and to say I'd highly highly recommend it to anyone is an understatement.
I can't fault the wonderful care that my mother-in-law receives. The staff goes above and beyond and always puts the residents first. Even when my mum-in-law was admitted to hospital the staff visited her. All her care needs are met, and the home has a lovely calm atmosphere, most importantly the residents and the staff look happy. I hit gold finding my mum-in-law a place in Abbeywood, If you are looking for a care provider for your loved one, I would highly recommend this beautiful home.
Mum has had excellent care here, she has only been here a few months, and management and staff are excellent in their care to everyone who is a resident there. Mum has mixed vascular dementia /Alzheimer's which has been rapid, and the staff now knows her well and she seems well settled there, we as a family could not have found a better home to fit her needs. We can visit at any time nothing is a problem. Cannot thank them enough, lots of activities for residents as well as an excellent system for care in place.
This is the best care home my mum has lived in the care and compassion is second to none. They provide activities and have singers to entertain there are lots of staff around so residents are always looked after.
My grandad's mental and physical health had rapidly declined due to the constant being in and out of hospital until we came across Abbey Wood. After 2 weeks under their care, he became happy and jolly and had a glimpse of life back in his eyes that we hadn't seen in a year. The team at Abbey Wood are wonderful and knows each patient's needs inside and out and gets to know the family of the patient too. It's a daunting process deciding who is going to care for your loved one, but there was not a moment I doubted my grandad's care, he was the happiest he had been for a year in there. He loved the whole team. They made sure his dignity was kept in check and made his last 6 months better than we could have ever done. I couldn't thank and recommend all the team at Abbey Wood enough! There is a sense of community and family there I have not seen anywhere else. You guys do the most amazing job!
Very good always there to listen to problems if there are any. The manager's door is always open to talk to her. Care home is amazing everything they do for my Grandad can't fault them. The events and little days out for residents are amazing.
Abbey Wood has been a fantastic place of care for my father-in-law. We most certainly made the right choice as a family. Honestly, every member of staff is exceptional. Lovely and clean, they can't do enough for their residents - Christmas, birthdays, fun days, days out, and regular treats. Thanks so much to all.
For the past two months, my dad has been a resident of Abbey Wood. The level of care for my dad has been amazing from the day he arrived and has fully justified our hopes from day one that we could get Dad into Abbey Wood care home.
Dad has been here for almost 2 years now and we have nothing but praise for the owner and the team. After having a troublesome time when first diagnosed with Alzheimer's and having an unsuccessful stay at another home, we could not be happier. He was so confused and did not know or understand where home was, he is now so settled, he is home. He is well cared for, has a full belly, and is always smiling and laughing. He is happy and this is all due to the amazing staff at Abbey Wood. If you're thinking about reaching out to this nursing home for a loved one, do it straight away. You will not be disappointed. I would highly recommend this nursing home. Thank you the owner and team for everything you do for Dad, and us x
