View Full Details of Elstow Manor Care HomeMy mother in law is treated with respect and maintains her dignity. She is encouraged to socialise and has numerous daily activities offered to her. The main thing is she always says how happy she is in Elstow Manor which is very important to her family.
My Father was discharged from hospital to Elstow Manor Care Home 4 weeks ago. The Relations Manager was efficient, which make the move into the home seamless. She was also very sympathetic as my Dad wife had just passed away. In that time Dad has been in Elstow Manor, the care he has received has been superb. He is now eating more, and very slowly gaining strength. The staff are always willing to help and are approachable when Dad needs something - for example drinks or food. The environment of the home is lovely and has a very calm feel to it.
My Dad has been in respite care at Elstow for about three weeks now and so far everything is going very well. The surroundings are clean and pleasant and all of staff are exceptionally well-motivated, professional and friendly. He is eating better now and we are hoping he start getting stronger and more mobile soon. Keep up the good work!
My mother was discharged from hospital at short notice but was unable to return home immediately. We needed some residential respite urgently. Val and the Team at Elstow were amazing, within 24 hours they had visited and assessed mum in hospital and arranged for her transfer to the home. Quite an amazing task for which we will forever be grateful. The Home is quite stunning with all the staff doing everything possible to make the stay as comfortable as is possible. At all times I felt my mum was safe and very well looked after.
We visited a friend staying at the home after a time in hospital and we were really impressed with the friendliness of all the staff and the welcome they gave us and their caring nature towards her. It is a big home and she hadn't been there very long but as we walked with her to the café any staff we came across seemed to know her name and say hello to her. There was a lovely atmosphere and some really personal touches we thought to make the residents feel at home. We were grateful for the time that was taken to answer some of our questions as we were learning more about the home and we also saw some residents enjoying a fun group activity whilst we were there. We are pleased that our friend can be in this home to recover and rehabilitate.
My mother, who has dementia, was admitted for 6 weeks respite care after being discharged from hospital following a fall. From the start, the Customer Relations Manager was amazing ensuring her move was quick and easy and kept me informed throughout. The whole team at Elstow are incredibly welcoming and really seem to care. They looked after my mother with gentleness and affection. Throughout her stay I felt that she was safe and comfortable and she did too.
I was well looked after. The staff were all friendly and caring. Food was good.
I was impressed on my visit that the home had displayed notices on the doors that for the day it was a nut free zone. I was having lunch there and my son has a peanut allergy. I found the staff friendly and helpful. Everywhere was clean and tidy, and my family seemed well cared for.
Mum stayed for 2 1/2 weeks respite. She enjoyed her stay and tells her friends it was like a 5 star hotel. The staff were friendly and caring, taking the time to place her (for meal times) with like minded ladies. Ia m sure she will be back.
Dad was welcomed into the home and has settled very well. The homemakers are all very caring and willing to help with whatever he needs. Meals are excellent. Rooms very good. Facilities excellent.
Very friendly environment. receptionist know our names and names of my daughters. Excellent to have the coffee/drink area lots of spaces to sit, easy to get to and get around. Lovely social area to with with visitors. My mum always looked well cared for and commented how well she was looked after and how much she enjoyed her meals especially sitting with other residents. The towels and food on arrival was a really personal touch.
My Late Father-in-Law was one of the first residents at Elstow Manor and when my Sister-in-Law became unable to care for herself Elstow Manor was the natural choice knowing what incredible care Dad received. Sadly my Mother-in-Law also recently became in need of a care Home so Elstow Manor was again the only choice. The staff take the time to get to know not just the residents but the families too, getting to know the little things about residents that matter the most to make them feel valued for who they are. So many other homes would benefit greatly by visiting Elstow Manor and learning just how to maintain the dignity and persona of residents. Nothing is either a problem or too much trouble. My heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Elstow Manor.
What a fabulous first week in residential care for my friend! From sadness and an inability to cope with her surroundings, she is now happy, smiling, laughing and relaxing in safe, beautiful surroundings supported by caring and committed staff. It is heartwarming to observe the confidence that the residents have to join in the many and varied events. Congratulations to the staff for providing such a welcoming environment where residents and visitors are treated with kindness, respect and dignity. Thank you.
Lovely and welcoming residential facility. Good to know our loved one is safe and well cared for.
A lovely care home, amazing staff, friendly atmosphere and great facilities. It gives me great peace of mind that my loved one is being well looked after.
During early spring I have experienced extreme breathlessness and vertigo. During that time I have received the highest quality care and supervision. The fact that I am now recovering well is due almost entirely to the staff.
A modern well managed care home where you can leave your loved one reassured they will be safe and well cared for. All staff are pleasant, friendly and conscientious.
My father only ,oved in, mid April and we find the home on a different level to his previous home. All the staff interact with him and are all friendly, the entertainment is daily and trips arranged. My father enjoys the food. His bedroom is lovely and along with the ensuite kept very clean. The home and grounds and excellent.
Dad has been at Elstow Manor since December 2022. He has advanced dementia but has remained cheery and hasn't lost his sense of humour. All the staff have always been lovely with him. There have been occasions when we have had to sort various things out with them, but they have always been respectful, and I have to say more recently everything has improved enormously at Elstow Manor. Dad recently moved up to the newly formed Dementia Unit and we has family are really impressed with it. More activities more time spent with the resident great communication with us re dads care. Everyone is doing wonderful job. Dad enjoys himself immensely.
Mum was in Elstow Manor for 3.5 years. During this time her Alzheimer's journey progressed, taking her from being quite active to becoming bedbound and no longer able to feed herself, depending on the staff 100% for all her needs. The staff were always professional, caring, respectful and attentive to her increasing support needs, carrying out her personal requirements with dignity. After a couple of brief spells in hospital in November 2024 (where she looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights) she quickly returned to her usual contented self once back in her room. Smiling in recognition to faces and voices of home makers and nursing staff she knew. We made the right choice in selecting Elstow Manor for her last few years, and I will always be thankful for the love, care, comfort and attention she received from everyone there.
