View Full Details of Rawcliffe Manor Care HomeWe are delighted to have 'discovered' Rawcliffe Manor. Mum has been very happy there for over a year. She receives wonderful, compassionate and friendly care. The whole team have an excellent attitude and clearly love their vocation. Thank you.
My mum (who has dementia) recently stayed at Rawcliffe Manor for respite care while we went away on holiday. My mum received a very high standard of care throughout her stay & had opportunities to join in with a range of engaging activities & to socialise with other residents. The staff were all extremely caring & made sure that all of her needs were met, not only physical but also social & emotional as well. I was able to see photographs of my mum on the social media page meaning that I could see that she was enjoying herself. The care home is meticulously clean & well organised. This is the third time my mum has stayed at Rawcliffe Manor for respite care & I can go away on holiday knowing that my mum is safe, happy & being well looked after. Thanks again for ensuring that my mum had a lovely stay with you. Highly recommend!
Exceptionally high level of care shown to residents from a motivated and committed team. The food is delicious with a great choice available, this is warmly received each meal time by the residents. The security at the home is a high standard that provides a high degree of confidence.
We needed emergency respite care and Rawcliffe were amazing at arranging this at short notice, and again readjusting plans for us when a planned leaving date had to be changed last minute. Every time I visited I was made to feel welcome by the staff, and there was a lovely feeling of calm within the home. The rooms are spacious, light and comfortable, and were always clean. The carers quickly got to know my Mum and built up a relationship and this home would be our first choice if further care is needed in future.
My mother-in-law is so happy at RM. The atmosphere is warm, the staff are engaging and care. Food is good quality and can cater for different likes and dislikes. The management and leadership are to be admired for their progressive view of the operation of RM.
Mum says all the staff are helpful and friendly, as do I. Management are excellent overall cleanliness is good but the bathroom floor always looks like it needs cleaning because of the material its made from. Activities are good but not aways good for someone who can't see or hear well.
Every member of staff we met today was courteous, helpful, and considerate. We felt relieved that our old friend was secure and thoroughly well cared for.
The hardest thing is when your parent goes into care but I cannot thank the new manager enough for the changes implemented here at Rawcliffe Manor, more staff, more trips out, and activities for all the residents if they choose to do so a variety of going up into the cinema, into the bar or just quite time with a one to one carer it means the world to know they are getting this stimulation as we know each resident is unique and have different needs. Thank you all so much for everything you do we really appreciate you.
I was so anxious when my husband needed to move into a care home. From the very beginning, the staff have taken excellent care of both my husband and me, especially in my darkest days. Even though my husband can't always truly communicate, the staff respects him and still gives him choices. They anticipate his needs and give him a home now that he cannot live in ours. He is always clean and well-dressed. I cannot praise all the staff enough.
My wife was well cared for until, as we all expected, her Alzheimer's took a turn for the worse. She then needed full nursing care.
Rawcliffe Manor is a wonderful, safe place. The staff are very patient and caring. Our only issue is I feel the staff are overworked and could do with more support or more employees.
Not enough interaction to stimulate. Activities often on the ground floor (seem to be in Haven lounge) with dementia residents. The carer is very good. Had two issues at the dining room table, another resident raising voice and saying I was sat their place, so ended up sitting by myself. Can the seating be more engaging, pushing two tables together? I feel isolated at times. The home/rooms are really lovely, staff are nice too. I know it's early days. Thank you.
I find that I am well looked after. The staff are helpful, very pleasant and are pleased to put themselves out. Both day and night staff provided whatever is needed.
My husband has dementia and is double incontinent. He stayed at Rawcliffe Manor for two weeks respite. I visited him at 10.00 am and found that his cooked breakfast had been placed on his desk and was stone cold. He was lying in bed soaked in urine, as were his clothes and bedding. I went to get help and spoke to a carer. She said 'I thought there was a smell when I took his breakfast in'. I then asked for him to be showered. The response was 'he had a shower yesterday'. It doesn't matter how many showers he had, he needed one then. This should not have needed me to chase this. I handed in a letter, addressed to the manager when I collected my husband. When I unpacked, I found that my husband had no socks returned, in fact he had been sent home in leather shoes, minus socks. Also, his toothbrush and toothpaste had not been used. I then sent an email to the Yorkare company, who did respond to say that they would look into the matter. No, they did not get back to me.
Mum came to Rawcliffe last autumn and seems to have settled in well, though naturally, it took a little time to acclimatise, she seems happy and joins in some of the activities. The staff are lovely and she has a couple of ladies in particular she teams up with, which is great. The facilities are lovely, very comfortable and we are settled knowing she is in good hands and help is on hand when she needs it. We are waiting for an around-the-neck buzzer for Mum as she feels unsteady on her feet and had fallen a couple of times out of reach of the help button and are assured this is being looked into and we will all be happier when it arrives. Value for money - it seems to be about the going rate for these types of homes, so cannot complain.
I have had a positive experience since my mum has been living in Rawcliffe Manor Care Home. The permanent staff are all very caring. I feel able to approach any of them with questions about my mum and everybody is always keen to help. It is very good in the haven that the staff sit in the lounge with the residents and offer some entertainment and company for them when the specific entertainments person is not there.
What an excellent place, fabulous living for all. My mother asked to go back into the home permanently after spending a couple of respite weeks there. She feels happy, relaxed and cared for. The staff are exceptional, always ready to listen, give emotional support and constant care. They treat the residents like a family, one big happy family! When you enter the home you can feel the warmth from staff and residents, the atmosphere is infectious. My mum loves the activities and these are accessible for all residents. The difference it has made to my mum is so satisfying. I have my mum back!
Mum is happy content and safe.
My stay has been very good well looked after and staff very good.
As a family we are really pleased with the way that our sister has been welcomed and helped to settle into Rawcliffe Manor Care Home. The staff/carers are very attentive and the meals are really outstanding. All the members of staff are approachable and will do anything to try and help residents and families. The difference in our sister is noticeable, she is very happy and enjoys the activities and engaging with the other residents. The rooms really are to a very high standard. We feel very relieved that she is in such a lovely caring place.
