View Full Details of Edwalton Manor Care HomeMy m-in-law went for respite for 3 weeks at Edwalton Manor whilst my husband and I went on holiday. She really enjoyed her stay, because she lives alone, and she met so many residents. She has never been one for activities, but she did armchair boules, drawing, exercises in the chair. One evening there was a party for the residents. My m-in-law spoke highly of the food which is served in a lovely restaurant with an excellent choice of food. She also enjoyed being able to walk safely in the beautifully maintained grounds & enjoy a coffee and cake in the lovely bistro with her new friends. Relatives of residents are encouraged to visit and have free coffee/tea and cakes. The staff are AMAZING-so cheerful & helpful. I was so impressed at how they encouraged the dementia residents to do activities & treated them with kindness and respect. The care home is like a 5 star hotel & spotlessly clean and I & my m-in-law can't fault it. We were invited back to a complimentary bbq yesterday.
My Mum stayed for two weeks while my wife and I were on holiday. From enquiring about the facilities before deciding on a home, to actually taking Mum in and getting her settled the team were fantastic. They provided a lovely bouquet of flowers for her room on arrival and she got a big hug from the carers when we picked her up after the two weeks. The home is very well maintained with excellent facilities for residents and visitors alike and I would be happy to recommend Edwalton Manor to others after this experience.
Following a sudden change in care needs my Mother moved in to Edwalton Manor Care Home. At all stages everyone has been exceptionally kind and helpful and gone above and beyond to arrange a quick move and smooth transition to care home life at an upsetting time. As other reviews mention the home is immaculate and more like a lovely hotel with beautiful gardens to enjoy. Rooms are spacious with lovely views and there are lovely areas for friends and family to enjoy. The proximity to a few shops and garden centre is a bonus as allows trips out with visitors as a change of scenery. Staff are friendly and approachable and keen to help you integrate and enjoy the activities if you desire. Overall a very good choice of home in a great location.
From our initial enquiry regarding a respite stay for my father we were so impressed with the staff and facilities at Edwalton Manor. The team were so welcoming, professional, knowledgeable, experienced and helped us through what can be quite an overwhelming process. The facilities are outstanding. The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, luxurious and have everything a resident would need. The communal areas are lovely and visiting family really appreciated the bistro area. There is a huge range of activities. When my father is ready to move to a residential home permanently this will definitely be the place.
Really excellent residential / care home. Facilities and staff contribute to a wonderful, friendly and caring environment. Nothing is too much trouble and the atmosphere is more like a hotel than a 'care home'. Residents are treated as individuals and staff go out of their way to get to know everyone and their particular foibles! It's a happy place to live and to visit.
I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at Edwalton Manor and would not hesitate to go again. It is all very comfortable, very impressive and of an extremely high standard. This was matched by a very friendly and helpful staff who were always willing to stop what they were doing and help out in any way. The Manor faces south and is surrounded by flower gardens with plenty of semi-private areas where you could take a cup of tea, chat to friends and visitors or just fall asleep! I managed to get through a great deal of reading whilst there. Right from the start, everyone was on first-name terms and all the staff wore name badges, which meant there was never any need to remember names, which can be a bit of a problem as one gets older! There was a good range of activities organised for every day although I supplemented this by trying to get fit by going for long walks through the fields and local woods which was both restful and invigorating. All very therapeutic indeed!
Edwalton Manor care home was so helpful when my cousin needed emergency respite care after a fall. They went above and beyond to get her in on the day of her fall, which made it so much easier for the rest of the family.
I returned to Edwalton Manor as I had stayed before for a few weeks respite, and I enjoyed it so much that when my care needs increased, I didn't hesitate to move back in. There are lots of activities, friend and family are welcome and I can eat my meals in either the dining rooms or my own room. I have found the personal care to be very good, and the staff are friendly and pop in for frequent chats with me and are always smiling.
All the staff were extremely friendly and approachable The home was very flexible with the urgent arrival of Dad followed by Mum a few weeks later this time into a double room (suite) The atmosphere in the home was warm and friendly, with lots to do and nice areas for visitors and residents to relax and enjoy time with family Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff or management. What sets this care home apart is that it feels more like a hotel than a care home, the staff are professional but feel like family. Excellent all round.
My father came to Edwalton Manor Care Home after a period of time in hospital. It is a beautifully appointed building, spotlessly clean, with excellent facilities. The nursing and residential care he has received has been totally professional and exemplary. He has said many times that he appreciates the staff always do their best for him; they are so caring, kind, and I have to say, the nursing, housekeeping, catering, and administration teams are full of happy, smiley faces, which creates a lovely atmosphere throughout. It is a pleasure to spend time with my father in such lovely surroundings. Communication between the teams and my sister and I is excellent, and we feel very reassured that my father is totally safe and really being cared for in a way that we would hope to be able to care for him at home.
What a lovely care/nursing home. Mum and dad are staying in a suite allowing them to be together. A friend had had respite there following surgery and had told us how lovely it was. My parents are staying in the care part of the home as they don't require nursing. All the staff (homemakers) are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. The care my parents have received is exemplary. It truly is a luxury care home.
My now-deceased, husband chose this care home for his palliative care as his brother had also been in Edwalton Manor and received excellent palliative care. The care and attention given by the staff is second to none. Family and friends were welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for every member of staff. All diets were catered for and the facilities within the care home eg lounges, cinema, dining room, cafe and hairdressers were numerous. Regular events and outings were held for residents plus the care home's proximity to shops, a garden centre and main roads make it ideal for visitors.
Finding a care home for a good friend was a daunting task - until we visited Edwalton Manor. What a beautiful environment. The accommodation is excellent and the whole team are dedicated and professional. When he came to live here he was made very comfortable and he was both calm and contented. He made a lot of friends amongst the residents and staff who showed him love and affection in his closing years. My wife and I are grateful for the care and kindness that he was shown in this luxury setting. We recommend a visit if you are ever in need of care.
Due to dementia and a need for full nursing care, my mother-in-law moved into Edwalton Manor Care Home on the nursing floor and we cannot say enough about the exceptional level of care, courtesy and kindness shown to her and her visitors. This allowed her to feel welcomed, cherished and cared for at a time of uncertainty. We chose Edwalton Manor as we had already experienced the same level of care to another family member suffering with terminal cancer and many of the old faces were still on the staffing team and we cannot rate then highly enough. From the initial conversations to moving in and subsequent care, the entire team were exemplary. Thank you.
From the moment my mother went into the home she felt very much at ease thanks to the very friendly but professional staff. They have created a family atmosphere whilst maintaining the right amount of independence and privacy for all their 'guests'. My 98-year-old mother had lived on her own for the 40 years since my father died and moving into the care home was a big step. Both my mother and I were aware that this was a huge change in her life but I am delighted to say that we have absolutely no reservations about Edwalton Manor. The rooms, the facilities, the food and the activities are all first class but what makes the care home a real home is the wonderful staff who really care and are so approachable. My thanks to all the staff who have helped to take away the stress of moving my mother into the home.
My mum came to stay at Edwalton Manor for convalescent care following an operation. The homemakers (staff) were so kind and helpful, they couldn't do enough for Mum during her stay. When looking for respite care in the future we will certainly be calling Edwalton Manor.
Thank you for the excellent care provided by Edwalton Manor - the homemakers, clinical staff and entertainment organised. The staff acted promptly and efficiently recently facilitating a hospital admission. The ongoing communication between the hospital care home and staff and myself was much appreciated right through to discharge. Thanks to all the hard-working staff - your commitment and dedication exceed our expectations. Well done and thank you all!
My mother has now been at Edwalton Manor for just over 4 weeks and has taken to it like a duck to water. She has already started to make new friends, loves getting involved with the exercise classes and seems to have discovered a newfound interest in carpet bowls. The team are fantastic whenever I call to check up on how mum is doing. Thank you!
We first came across Edwalton Manor when we attended a Christmas event with our daughter, organised for local children. Witnessing the kindness and enthusiasm the team showed the children, we knew instantly that Edwalton Manor was the right setting for my Grandmother. She has now been a resident for six weeks or so, and it's been a wonderful experience for her. The home is always vibrant and full of activity. The numerous communal areas make visiting an absolute pleasure, and the fact that children are so welcomed along with our four-legged friend is just the cherry on top! A big thank you the manager and her fantastic team!
My mother joined Edwalton Manor originally as a short-term option after having several falls at home. Thanks to the care shown by the amazing team she has settled in so well that she now resides there permanently. It’s always a pleasure to visit her knowing she is being so well looked after in such an outstanding facility. We particularly love the family dining room which allows us to continue having Friday night fish and chips together as a family (albeit sometimes on different nights depending on availability). Thank you!
