We are so grateful to Chelmsford Care Centre for the exceptional care they have given my mother-in-law. From the moment she arrived the difference from her previous home has been night and day. The staff are attentive, kind and professional, they treat her with dignity and respect, make time to chat
with both her and our family, and show nothing but kindness and compassion.
Their communication has been outstanding, they keep us informed at every point and are on top of all the administration, which has given us enormous peace of mind while we navigate this difficult time with her rapidly progressing dementia. Her care is thorough and personalised, she is supported with all her needs, the food is tasteful, and the team provide activities to keep residents active and engaged. Everyone, from the carers to the activities team (and right down to the admin), has been brilliant. We truly can't fault anything about them and feel confident and reassured knowing she's so well looked after.

I cannot fault the care and attention that is afforded my father by Chelmsford Care Centre.
The nurses are always approachable and willing to discuss any feedback on fathers progress and advice on how best to manage his condition. The HCA's are always on hand to help and treat dad with respect and
dignity.
Activities are well coordinated without any forced nature to them.
The facility is alway clean and well maintained.service staff are always available if required
From day one the reception staff have made us feel very welcome, and everyone meets me with a welcome and a smile.
The management team have been a real asset in the transition of my father from hospital discharge and have been key in helping my siblings and I understand the pathway my father is currently on. They are always approachable and have helped a great deal, particularly being available to advise and give invaluable support for us and dad after my mothers passing.
I would highly recommend Chelmsford Care Centre

A warm welcoming environment , with excellent always friendly staff who are approachable and always willing to help . I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone who may have concerns about their loved one's welfare .

My relative is well looked after, and her needs are met, exactly within the parameters of her degenerative condition. All staff are kind and courteous, and always attentive to all residents, ensuring the highest level of care at all times

The home provided wonderful care & support during my Mum's short stay with them, during some very difficult times! My lovely mum passed away whilst in the home and every member of staff showed her such dignity & warmth. We were very happy with the home!

We had a very bad experience in Mum's last home. As soon as we walked into Chelmsford Care Centre we knew that was the right home for her. The rooms are comfortable and walking around the home it had everything mum needed. Mum really liked it as well when we showed her. Staff are lovely. The only
thing I would add would be the gardens. It is all grass - needs trees and flower beds for mum.

This was the only home who would take Chris in and help with her needs , the staff are always pleasant and smiling, always willing to help and we can't fault the home, they have done their best to settle her in, the home is very clean and plenty of staff around, as soon as you email you get a
immediate response, we are hoping that Chris continues to thrive.

My mother has been in the care home since last February. I am very pleased with the care she receives, I know that she is comfortable, content and very well looked after. The carers and other staff are all very good, they are very attentive to her every need and the wellbeing of all the residents
can be seen to be the priority of all the staff.
They organise quite a lot of activities in the home, in which all residents are encouraged to partake in, but it is never an issue if they don't want to. The nursing staff in the home are always available should I have any concerns or questions regarding her health or wellbeing. The food is very good and my mother eats well and enjoys it.
There is a real sense of community in the home.

My father is currently receiving long term care. When I compare Chelmsford Care Centre with his previous care facility the standard of care he receives is far more suited to his needs. He is made to feel like a member of a community and not an individual. The staff are fantastic and deal with him in
a professional and caring way. He is occupied every day with the activities that are run by the staff and I know it can be difficult for him to be involved sometimes but the staff persevere and make sure he is engaged as much as possible. I Highly recommend this care centre as it is a very welcoming place where the individuals needs are constantly met. Thanks

First impressions: my mum has been in a different home for the past 5/6 months, where she never settled.
On my entrance I spoke to the female receptionist (sorry I didn't get her name) they knew exactly who mum is and took me through to her.
When I visited her today, she was happy relaxed and
definitely more settled than I have seen her since her dementia took hold of her. She was passing time by chatting to other residents. She flatly refused to communicate with anyone in her old home.
Whilst I was there she was given a nice cup of tea and offered some fresh biscuits. A carer came across and gave her daily medication and stood there whilst mum swallowed the tablets. This was done with care and it was explained that it was her medication not just 'chucked' at her.
Loads of staff were around at all times which is comforting for me as I physically saw that she's being looked after.
Only 4 stars as its early days.
So far so good

All staff are very caring and gentle with my husband and try to help him lead a calm life. I feel that he has a better life than if he was still at home living with me.

I am very happy with services that they give my husband, nothing is too much trouble.

My wife's situation is complex and traumatic. When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in January 2019 I vowed that I would look after her myself at home. All went well till January 2023 when she fell and broke her left hip, in hospital she had a hemiarthroplasty. This was successful but
administrative pressure caused her to be discharged too soon and within hours she was back for a battle with infection, a girdlestone procedure and a long drawn out process of wound healing which is ongoing. She has now been in Chelmsford Care Centre for almost one year. They are valiantly continuing this process and doing well.

This review is based on my direct experience of my Dad's care. I find the staff caring, organised, kind & efficient. I am satisfied that my Dad is being looked after & respected. In particular - activities lady & nurses plus the care lead are fantastic! We are grateful.

My Dad moved to this care home in December 2024 and thankfully left at the beginning of May.
Our experience was very poor! It also left us distressed by our experience. Myself and my Step Mum witnessed staff repeatedly ignoring residents who were trying to communicate with them, asking to go to
the loo or who were in distress, we saw staff scrolling on social media and laughing and joking amongst themselves whilst the residents were ignored. Mealtimes were chaotic and the quality of food poor. There were also staff with limited English, this impacted the residents directly and also had a negative effect on paperwork that staff needed to complete. My Dad's teeth were not brushed regularly and he was left in dirty clothes. There were often occasions when there was no soap or loo roll in the toilets. His belongings were just screwed up in draws in his room. It was very difficult to contact the home by phone, calls were not returned. Concerns were addressed in the first instant but poor practice quickly resumed. There are a few good carers in this home but a lot of lazy staff who like to blame each other rather than work as a team. My Dad has come back to life since leaving and moving to an excellent care home.
There is new management at this home and hopefully the service will improve. Visit your loved ones regularly and challenge!

My husband has been a resident in the care home from late 2023 and I attend on a daily basis. The unit manager, care staff and nurses are excellent carrying out the care of residents with respect, dignity and kindness despite the challenging circumstances. Activity staff have worked hard to give
residents stimulating & positive experiences with daily activities and outside acts. The home also celebrates important dates in the calendar as well as residents birthdays. I can only praise the staff for their support and kindness not only to my husband but to the whole of my family.

My wife was moved from her previous care home because they could not provide the one-to-one care she needed due to her aggression. She settled at CCC very quickly and, after a few weeks, the staff had clearly got used to her and seem genuinely fond of her. She has been in CCC for 6 months now and
there is always a warm welcome when I visit, help is on hand if I ask for it but they are also happy for me to care for her while I'm there. As hard as leaving her is, I know she is looked after and cared for when I'm not there which is all I
ask. The place is lovely, more like a hotel than a Care home, and well looked after. The rooms are spacious and welcoming and the food is good and plentiful. As much as I hate not being able to live and grow old together, I at least have the peace of mind of knowing that she is looked after far better than I could look after her. Thank you Chelmsford Care Centre.

My wife is treated with respect & understanding of her worsening condition. Staff are both kind & friendly. The home allows myself & family unlimited access & in so doing enables us to continue a close & much appreciated relationship. My wife, by choice, is not a keen participant of activities.

My dad was admitted to the Garden Unit Feb 24. He had late stages dementia and was very aggressive at times. I visited every day and only witnessed kindness and patience to all of the residents, including my dad.
The staff were all very nice and friendly.
Towards the end of his life I felt
involved in all decisions and was kept involved in all decisions, made to feel welcome by both day and night staff to visit at all times of the day and night. I also felt confident to leave my dad, knowing the staff would contact me regarding any changes
07 March 2025
My dad (with later stage dementia & recovering from aspiration pneumonia) was sent here from hospital.I witnessed him being given medication from the floor after he had spat it out.The nurse picked it up and put it back into his mouth.I thought this must have been a one off ,but she then proceeded
to do it to the second patient who spat hers out also. This was raised with management & I was told it wasn't good enough & the nurse wouldn't be staying at the home. The floor manager said she wished to get rid of her &wanted it in writing so it would help her do this (?!) Only to find a few days later her still administering meds. Many occasions dad was given the wrong thickness food/drink.I witnessed this a lot with other patients on restricted diets also. The chef would often shout at the staff (often agency)as they weren't checking before putting the meals in front of the patients.Dads swallow reflux deteriorated but they would not arrange for a specialist to help dad unless I pushed for it
