View Full Details of Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care HomeRik has been excellent and a major part of the experience. He is exceptionally personable and puts a lot of energy and time in to all the residents. All round facilities are great & clean, tidy, lot's of nice grounds and well staffed.
I can't find adequate words to express the superb care, compassion and service received from every member of staff here at Chestnut Gardens Care Home. My husband's recuperation has been remarkable and I cannot thank them enough for looking after him for me.
My Mum's first time in care home from October 2024 being in Hospital for 5 weeks prior , she originally came for respite but decided to stay , fast forward to nearly a year , when I call my mum she says she is busy either exercising , chatting with staff, getting her hair done BBQ where i have attended ,the chef is amazing ! The home always has something going on for residents and includes their family , I am able to get things delivered for her including cheeky fast food, the support i have from Gayane is fabulous ,the staff are very patient and understanding and as I do not live locally this puts my mind at ease . I am very happy that I chose Barchester but the main thing is my Mum being happy ,there have been a few hiccups and was dealt with promptly and nothing serious .
We can't speak highly enough of all the staff at Chestnut Gardens, from housekeeping through to management. My mum moved in back in November and has taken a while to adjust to a new way of life and missing her own home. The staff have been so kind and helpful and spending time with her and encouraging her to join in the activities. Would recommend this Care Home to everyone.
Our mum came to the care home, this is the first for her, she arrived right in the middle of the Christmas party, having just come straight from the hospital, she was made to feel very welcome and took part and enjoyed the food. Mum's settlement to the home wasn't straightforward as Mum, as staff concerned about our health, was sent to hospital on Christmas Eve, she came home on Boxing Day. Couple of days later, she was sent back to the hospital so she spent New Year in hospital, this has been very upsetting for everybody but the staff had been great and don't mind being bombarded with loads of questions. We are an outgoing family so we have joined in with the quizzes etc., grandchildren have been made to be welcome and also helped put the Christmas decorations away, the other residents have fallen in love with our 9-year-old grandson, said he's funny and entertaining. Mum has only been in the home three weeks, says room is lovely, the staff are very caring and kind, food is good too.
When Mum needed to go into a care home, we visited many. Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home is absolutely beautiful inside - the care and attention to detail are just amazing. From the hairdressers to the cinema, to all the activities arranged daily, we could see that this was a place that really cared for its residents and improving their quality of life. The general manager is just wonderful. I was very anxious about Mum moving to a residential home, not only did she understand this but was also able to set my mind at rest about the quality of care Mum would receive and, most importantly to me, how we would all work together to look after her. The transition was so easy from hospital to the home. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I can honestly say that during her stay, my mum had the most wonderful care from all of the staff. I would highly recommend Chestnut Gardens and the manager and her fabulous team.
On entering Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home, my initial thoughts were this feels like a five-star hotel and I was greeted by smiling, welcoming staff. I felt very comfortable talking to the staff and I thought the facilities had a lovely ambience. It is a good-sized home giving a spacious and luxurious feel. When I took my mother for one week respite, the staff came to her at once to introduce themselves and they did with such a kind and warm manner that I instantly felt that she would be in good hands. The staff went above and beyond to make sure Mum was happy and for that, I am truly grateful and would highly recommend Chestnut Gardens.
I am beyond grateful to the staff at Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home for my mum's week of respite. They have made my mum, who has Alzheimer's, feel so relaxed and cared for and myself too! I will definitely be booking the home again.
The home was always spotless, as good as a 5 star hotel. The staff always ready to be helpful. My aunt (the resident) was not an easy person to help but the staff were brilliant at looking after her. If and when I need a care home for myself Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home would be my first choice.
I regularly visited my mother-in-law and she was always involved in activities, chatting with friends she'd made at the home or being looked after in the TV room. She enjoyed her time there.
Always a welcome smile from all the staff every time we go into the Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home. Nothing is too much trouble to support and help both the residents and visitors. Always feel welcomed by the team. The quality of the environment and overall build finish makes it feel like a high quality hotel. The range of food is excellent and caters for all dietary requirements. The team all seem to really take an interest in the well-being of the residents.
What a wonderful place, the care my mother received in her year here was absolutely first class, as well as the care and support they gave me. There was always lots to do, lots of laughter, the food is wonderful, the rooms spacious and the staff - well they are just simply the best. Thank you all so much.
My friend's mother was at Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home for respite where I visited her on a few occasions. I could not feel more welcome and I noticed a very positive change in her whilst she was there. Everyone was incredibly kind and compassionate and my friend would not hesitate to move his mother permanently when she is ready.
Barchester Care Home is a beautifully presented home with friendly and approachable staff who put care into everything. It's like a gorgeous hotel. Parking is easy. A wide range of activities for the residents. Good quality food choices. I highly recommend if you're looking for your loved ones.
I stayed for two weeks for respite care after a hip replacement. The care was the best I could hope for. The staff were amazing, took care of every need I had and went above and beyond expectations. Arranged extra equipment and help. The food was an exception. The choice of food and menu was equivalent to having a meal at a Michelin restaurant. Five stars plus experience. Would recommend this place to whoever wants to know more and I am willing to attend and explain more. I was fortunate to have found myself in this place and if needed will be back. Staff, food, hygiene and hospitality are the best 5* plus.
I would like to say what an excellent place this is and my aunt loved her stay. I would recommend anyone to stay here. Great staff you have and I know she was well looked after.
My mother stayed for two weeks of respite care. The whole experience, from first contacting Chestnut Gardens, was excellent. The staff were extremely reassuring and professional. The rooms and all the common areas were exemplary. I will definitely use Chestnut Gardens again.
A caring and warm environment which my father felt was his home. My father's needs and feelings were always given high propriety. He felt very comfortable in his surroundings.
We have been very pleased with the service provided so far. The staff have really looked after my grandmother and made her feel reassured and safe. English is her second language, and she has dementia. The facilities are of great quality, and her room is very comfortable. Whenever we have visited, we have also noticed the high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas. Overall, a fantastic experience so far!
Reassuringly comfortable. The atmosphere is calm and organised. A safe place which has been designed with the well-being of the service users in mind.
