View Full Details of Brook Meadows House Care HomeThe end of life care delivered to my mum was excellent. All the staff were caring and kind to my mum and the family. We couldn't have wished for better care. I endorse the care given as a recently retired nurse of over 36 years experience. Thankyou x
Our Dad has been in Brook Meadows since August 2024. He has been very well looked after by all the staff. When we visit , we get updates as to how he is doing. The staff are friendly and approachable and see to his needs in a professional way. The team leaders are very helpful as is the manager and answer any queries that may arise. It's a very clean facility and dad is happy to be there.
Our experiences at Brook meadow. The staff have been supportive, professional, helpful and kind to my mother. My mother looks happy and contented. Not really getting the point of the meetings, no relevance to families of residents about decor or gardening. Would like to be more detailed about care and behaviour of our resident. Hardly anyone attending so current format not really working.
Our mum has been a resident at Brook Meadows House since February 2025. During this time, we have visited regularly (2-4 times per week). On each occasion, we are met with friendly, professional staff who update us as to how mum has been. There is always a member of staff if we have any queries.
I can't find any fault in the home at all. When my sister came from the hospital to the assessment unit she was so nervous and lacked in confidence. I started to notice a change in her after about a week. Her confidence started to get better as she was going into the lounge and interacting with other residents which she has not done in ages. She started to put weight on. She has never been a big eater but she loved the food. The staff where amazing even though they were always busy they always made sure she was ok and comfortable. Team leaders were always there to answer any questions especially the lady with short dark hair, nothing was ever to much trouble and she always kept me updated with any changes with my sister.
My dad stayed with Brock Meadows and he really enjoyed his stay. The staff were very friendly and kind and help him with all his needs. He would highly recommend his stay and the staff they went the extra mile to make sure he was settled.
I have been here since October 2023 and still here now I haven't been home for nearly 2 and a half years... I have a 10 year old daughter who I miss very much so since I was 35 I haven't been with her.... The staff have been amazing with helping me to the toilet, shower and get me dressed they are brilliant they just need more staff mainly the mornings they are brilliant but they need more hands... they are rushed off their feet. The food is good different options everyday. I am having private physio and I'm getting there and hopefully be up on my feet soon as in a wheelchair at the moment. But it's a lovely care home everyone is lovely just need some more hands.
Overall I think all of the staff seem to work really hard. However of late it has seemed to me that there does not seem to have been as many staff on duty as there use to be. The staff are polite and caring towards my mother, but being busy all of the time detracts from them having the time to sit down and have an impromptu chat. The room is cleaned regularly and is always nice and warm. The garden is a nice place to sit on sunny days. Food is often not to my mothers taste but she does get offered alternatives which helps, but can become a bit repetitive. There are a lot of organised activities that residents can join in with. Also one to one time with the activity coordinators for those residents less inclined to join in. Residents choices seem to be respected. Overall my observation and experience of the home and the staff since my mother has been resident is a positive. Any concerns are addressed promptly.
My dad has been looked after well here at Brook Meadows House Care Home. The rooms are new and smart and cosy. The staff are caring and attentive. The activities are great and well led with outings, singing, seasonal activities and themed meal lunches. The housekeeping keeps the rooms clean and beds made frequently. There is a lovely garden area residents can sit out in. A doctor comes in weekly for any medical problems. Dad perked up after being ill and coming to the home and being cared for here. There is a good team of people who also work with the family in drawing up care plans and regular family meetings. I would recommend this home to take care of loved ones.
I have found the care home very interesting. It is a place where dignity and respect to the aged and other residents is required. Sadly, I may not have been truly aware of this. I apologise and will be more careful in future. The home seems impeccable though it is a new build. The service user said the staff are very helpful without being intrusive. Some of the other residents are friendly, interesting people, happy to talk about themselves. It is rewarding to visit these care homes.
I visited on 6th September 2023 to see a family friend of whom I am Power of Attorney for. The purpose of the visit was to talk through the draft documents that had been sent from her Solicitor regarding a Will change and an update to the Power of Attorney, prior to the Solicitors visit in a week's time. One of the Team Leaders came into the room to deliver some food and noticed the documents, she left but I assume that she then overheard some of the conversation as the door was open. A short while later she came back and checked that everything was okay with the resident and very politely and professionally challenged me regarding the content of the conversation I was having to ensure that the resident was not being coerced into signing anything. I have a background in Adult Safeguarding and this was an excellent response by professional staff who are often very busy with challenging residents. All credit to her for taking the extra step. Thank you.
