View Full Details of Birchwood HeightsMy father has been a resident at Birchwood Heights care home at Swanley in Kent for over 2 years, and has enjoyed his stay there. The staff are amazing, I have never met a group of people who are so caring, if you gave them a score of 1-10 I would give them 1000. More recently my fathers heath has got worse, but the care was exceptional, putting in monitors so that if he moved they would know to avoid falls, when his anxiety kicked in they spent quality time reassuring him and keeping him calm. Sadly he passed away a week ago, and the care and compassion that we received from the staff was amazing, they made sure that Dad was safe and we waited for the funeral directors to collect him. They team gave him a very emotional guard of honour out of the home..I was so happy we chose Birchwood Height and I would highly recommend them to anyone, they are all amazing and I will be forever grateful for the love and care they showed my father
Facilities are great. Lots of space in lounges etc. food in dining rooms was lovely. The staff are all brilliant. Caring and attentive Unfortunately my mother in law was only in residence for 3 months before passing but really enjoyed it I would recommend this home to anyone Only issue was occasionally a problem parking!
My mum has been a resident for 2 years and enjoys being with the other residents and socialising. She likes taking part in all the varied activities. The home is well designed and she liked the view from her window and being out in the garden. Her room is always kept clean and the staff are all wonderful and supportive. She is treated with respect and dignity and I'm really happy with her care.
My wife and I came to Birchwood Heights in February 2024 and were very happy here but my wife passed peacefully away at the end of May 2024. We had been together since 1953 and a family of two boys and two girls all of whom are still close together and visit us here and very frequently and are known and warmly welcomed by all the staff and management who comforted me and still do, following the sad passing here of my wife.
My parents moved to Birchwood Heights just over a year ago. Sadly my mum died a few months after moving in. I will always be grateful to the Birchwood Heights team for their care, but particularly supporting my dad after mum died. The team is/was very kind and caring. It is very reassuring to know he is happy and safe.
From the first viewing we knew this was the place for my mum. We had looked at others (none has friendly) every member of staff was so friendly helpful and kind. The home visit to my mum house was lovely nothing was to much trouble, when my mum moved in to the home I couldn't believe how the staff already knew her name. It took a couple of weeks for her to settle in but she loves it. Mum likes to sit in the Bistro and watch the world go round and everyone stopping for a chat. The activities are great they keep her mind going.
Plenty of very caring and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble and always welcoming. Very accommodating when asking for something different never had to complain all the time my father was with them
Very warm and welcoming care home. Residents care is second to none. So many social activities for residents inc music acts, singers and arts and crafts. Trips out in the mini bus is a popular activity loved by residents. Great communication too with families.
All staff are amazing and helpful, can't do enough for you. Place is always clean and tidy and so many activities going on for the residents. Food always looks and tastes amazing and the bistro is always fully stocked for residents and visitors.
I have nothing but praise for the staff at Birchwood. They do a fantastic job and all seem so dedicated to caring for both the residents and their families and each other. The only downside is the difficulty parking at times.
Brilliant staff, very professional. Lovely staff.
Mum has been in the care home for a year now and the level of care has been amazing. The care staff are so kind and attentive. The activity staff work tirelessly, providing so many different activities and taking the residents out to many places frequently. Mum has been suffering with back pain over the last couple of weeks and they have been really good, getting the doctor and nurse involved. Food is excellent and the hospitality, housekeeping and cleaning staff are all excellent.
What an amazing place. My mum was one of the first residents here, and we are so pleased that we found it. All the carers, maintenance, housekeepers, receptionists, admin and lifestyle are absolutely amazing, all extremely helpful and caring. Highly recommend this wonderful care home. Thank you to all the team.
Met my friend in her room initially and had a chat while passing her some bits of shopping (shower gel, etc). We then went to the coffee lounge and had a lovely cup of coffee made for us by a very pleasant carer. Cake and biscuits were on offer too! We then went for a walk in the grounds and sat outside on a bench chatting. Everyone is very friendly and pleasant. The setting and rooms are lovely. It has been like this on all my visits.
I never worry that Nanna will go without the care and attention that she needs, the service that the staff provide is second to none. The facility is always clean and everyone is always kind.
Birchwood Heights is the most wonderful place for my mum to live. All the staff from managers, carers, activity workers, hospitality staff and all the support team are great. Very professional, caring, friendly and it is clear that the whole team are knowledgable of all the residents, and treats everyone with dignity. The rooms/facilities are homely and always clean. Daily menus always go down well with Mum. I couldn't recommend enough.
I couldn't have wished for a better care home for my dad. My dad really didn't want to go into a care home and I can honestly say my dad was happy at Birchwood Heights. The carers are all amazing. I can't thank everyone at the home enough for taking care of my dad. It really is a very happy home. with the best carers and management! Thank you!
I visited Birchwood Heights today and my oh my what a lovely and welcoming home. It is clean, bright and warm. The reception staff were lovely, however, my praise goes to the general manager at Birchwood Heights. He has been so caring and took the time to chat with me, he has everyone’s best interest at heart and actually shows an interest in the conversation. He was so warm and kind and that’s what you look for in a care home.
Very well-run and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent. Very pleased for my parents to be here.
I can't rate this wonderful care home enough; the staff are absolutely incredible, so attentive and kind and put on daily brilliant events for the residents. The home itself is spacious and beautifully decorated. The restaurant is exquisite. If I could move in here, I would!
