View Full Details of Shipley Manor Care HomeMum became a resident at Shipley Manor Care Home 12 months ago. She had been struggling at home for months prior to assessment for care needs. Mum is now so much happier & settled in quite quickly. She is always saying how kind and caring the staff are. Mum is always happy to see her family but never unhappy when we leave. It means so much to us to know she is safe & has the care she requires.
Mum came into Shipley Manor Care Home in October 2024. Since she has been here she has gone from strength to strength. She is so well looked after by all the wonderful staff. Mum is always telling us how lovely they are and how much she likes being here. I personally cannot fault anything.
My brother is extremely happy with his move to Shipley Manor 18 months ago and appreciates everything that is done for him by the caring staff. Some new activities are being installed which should help his dementia. Laundry and housekeeping are also excellent. We are very pleased to have chosen Shipley Manor, having visited 15 care home possibilities. My brother enjoys his new environment and loves the catering. We made the right choice.
We had an urgent need for respite care due to my mother being unable to walk without help. The initial consultation through to the ongoing care required has been excellent and supportive not only to Mum but the whole family. After realising more care was required than originally thought, the further help has been amazing. What a team! Couldn't ask for more. Thank you.
The entire team are great nothing is to much for them my mum has become a new person since moving in to Shipley manor and it's good to see her enjoying herself with the other residents, the entertainment team are great getting all involved and some of the staff have been made online purchases great place overall
My dad was at shipley manor from jan 24 until he passed in Oct 24. The care he received was second to none. The staff treated us both like part of their family and nothing was too much trouble. The last few months he was unable to drink without thickener and could only eat certain things. Whether it took him 5 mins or an hour they sat with him and never rushed him. The last few days I was given a room where I could sleep or shower and was able to be with him to the end. The night manager emma facilitated it so I could lay next to him and he passed in my arms which I could never be more thankful for. Tracey had such a lovely relationship with him. All the other staff which are too many to mention were absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend this wonderful care home enough.
My dad spent his last two weeks end of life care here. The staff were very helpful and took good care of him. He was treat with dignity and respect. The staff were very accommodating for myself and family and looked after us all at this difficult time.
My Mother became a resident of Shipley Manor in April 2024 and remained in their care until her death in March 2025. At all times the staff were polite and indeed loved our Mother dearly. We were always kept informed and enjoyed a wonderful, supportive relationship with the staff caring for her. Mum loved her room, she loved her meals and enjoyed some pleasant outings with the staff. There was a comprehensive activities programme and as a family we were always welcomed to join Mum to take part. They mark all birthdays and important days throughout the year with gusto and passion. Dressing the home for Halloween, Christmas, Remembrance Days and many more. Staff were always polite, caring and showed great empathy throughout her stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending Shipley Manor to anyone considering residential care. Security is excellent, care exceptional and the quality of the decor and cleanliness second to none. I felt part of the family, as did Mum. Thank you
My mother has dementia but is still able to be fairly independent. Before entering Shipley manor however she felt isolated and was not enjoying life, or eating regularly. Since moving in 9 months ago she is much happier, loves the location and her room and I am much happier knowing her daily needs are being taken care of. She enjoys interacting with the staff and other residents, likes the meals and particularly loves not having to do domestic tasks! The home is well designed and kept very clean. The staff are cheerful and welcoming. Everyone who visits mum says how lovely it is. I would recommend it.
I would like to thank the wonderful team at Shipley manor for always taking such great care of my grandmother. She has always been looked after with great kindness and compassion and it bring us so much joy to know she is in such good hands. I am especially grateful to one staff member who recently went above and beyond to ensure my grandmother was able to attend my daughters christening, making a very speal occasion even more meaningful for our family.
My mum in law is coming into her third year at Shipley Manor. She is today under the weather, but the care team have washed and cared for her. Made sure she has eaten, and has allowed to rest. The care she has received is one of the utmost dignity and she feels cared got and safe. Thank you to the whole team.
We were recommended Shipley manor by a friend whose parent is a resident . From our initial visit to picking up my father in law after his respite stay we were very impressed with everything . It was the first time he had been for respite care so we were all anxious but those anxieties soon went away. The emails from the staff were so reassuring and she always said if there was anything they could do to make his stay more comfortable to just ask . When we did a pre stay visit with him they asked what beer he liked to drink , and they arranged for some to be waiting for him . A staff member called each day for the daily paper he got at home .. such small things but made a huge difference . When we picked him up , all the staff came to say goodbye and how much they'd enjoyed having him , which made him emotional . I knew then we had made the right choice of respite care . Thank you so much everyone .
Shipley Manor is an excellent care home with wonderful caring staff. My mum was originally a respite patient with early-onset dementia. She became a permanent resident at the beginning of the year, this, together with her twenty-four-hour care from a team of dedicated, patient, friendly and caring staff, my mum continues to thrive and has a quality of life which has improved 100% since she has been a resident.
Mum has been a resident now for a year. I have nothing but good things to say about everybody involved in her care. Any queries I have are settled very quick & efficiently. Staff are very supportive to both mum & myself. After visiting I come away knowing that mum is being well looked after . I would just like to say a big thankyou to all at Shipley Manor
Staff and management really friendly and helpful. My mum is a bit reluctant to get involved in the events program but they keep trying to persuade her.
Shipley Manor has truly proven to be an exceptional care home. Since my mum became a resident, I've noticed a remarkable improvement in her health and overall wellbeing. The staff and carers are incredibly loving, supportive, and compassionate towards all the residents. The home itself is immaculate, always clean and welcoming. A special mention must go to the activities coordinator, who goes above and beyond to keep the residents mentally stimulated and engaged in a range of activities that bring them joy and purpose. I couldn't be happier with the care my mum is receiving. Knowing she is in such safe and caring hands gives me great reassurance and peace of mind that my Mum is surrounded by such wonderful people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do.
I thought I should write an up to date review. My Mum has been a resident since winter 2023 and, from the very beginning, both myself, my Mum and my family have always felt so welcomed and cared for in every way. My Mum has been looked after with all of the care I would wish she would have. All of the staff are amazing, and I am on first name terms with most of the carers and management. The carers on the floor and all of the management are unbelievable. As a family, we are so indebted to them all. Not only do they look after the residents but they also look after the whole family. I cannot thank them enough. Well done each and every one of you. I particularly enjoy all of the activities put on for residents on a daily basis which aren't just limited to inside the care home but frequently involving trips out. The home has a strong link with the students at the local college who visit on a regular basis. I would like to thank each and every one, keep up the good work.
Shipley Manor provided the most compassionate and caring environment for my Grandmothers end of life care. The staff are caring, empathetic and supportive to the wider family. They provided dignity to my grandmother in her final few weeks and empowered our decisions as a family. Shipley Manor I cannot thank you enough for the care and attention that you provided. We felt like family, the home as also provided after support and stay in touch with us as a family. There genuinely is no other home I'd consider. As someone who works in healthcare and visits many different elderly/residential settings, Shipley Manor is everything and more for your loved one. The staff are knowledgeable and liaise with other healthcare professionals appropriately. Some complaints on here refer to protected meal breaks being an issue - we found this to be a god send! We knew my Grandmother was fed, cared for and uninterrupted in this time. The home was always clean, bright and full of activity and chatter.
My aunt and uncle have been residents at Shipley Manor since December 2024. How lucky we are to have found this wonderful care home. Every member of staff is exceptional, highly professional manager, deputy manager and administrator, wonderful, kind care staff dedicated domestic and catering staff who keep the place like a luxury hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone, they treat each resident as if they are family members.
I just wanted to leave an up-to-date review, as Mum and Dad have been in Shipley Manor for nearly 2 years now. Mum and Dad can be challenging due to aging and Dementia but we have found all the staff really very good in the care and attention they give to our parents. It can vary a bit due to staffing changes but if ever there has been an issue it has been dealt with quickly and to good effect. Certain staff members are absolutely amazing with my parents and often share the pain of watching mum and dad decline alongside us. Some of the staff feel now like family members. Just lately we have had stresses due to the pursuit of local authority funding and I can't praise the manager, enough. She has been utterly kind, compassionate and caring. Honestly don't know how I would be managing without her. So, finally, thank you all so very much. I don't have the words to express my gratitude for all you do.
