View Full Details of Barchester Sycamore Grove Care HomeI have been a patient at Sycamore Grove Home on two ocasions, firstly for 2 weeks and recently for 1 week. On both occasions I've found the culture to be compassonate and caring in the home. There was a daily programe each day for the resident to attend and I found very helpful. Also there was a range for residents to attend eg a hair salon, a room for films, and a well kept garden for or exercise. The food was very good in the dining room and staff waiting on us, they published a menu with 3 courses at lunch and evening meals. The medical staff were very good as I needed the catheter to be put on each night. The manager & the care home was very efficient and welcoming. I would certainly return there if I needed too.
My mum has been at Sycamore Grove for a year now. As a family we are extremely happy with her care. Her confidence has improved and is socialising well with all the other residents. Its so comforting to know that she is being well cared for and is happy in her home. The staff are all amazing and cannot do enough for my mum and all the other residents.
My elderly mother was very well cared for by the superb and friendly staff during the nearly 4 week period she stayed at Sycamore Grove. Her and our only concern in the heat was the fact that the windows do not properly open and the lack of air con.
Sycamore Grove, All care staff - many thanks for all your care towards me. All cheerful and helpful. When I request help - it was instant. No faults or complaints. Thank you night staff for cups of tea offered, and the quiet, peaceful nights, which, I believe is critical to good service. All of them work extremely hard here. Thank you again (include receptionists at the desk). Thanks again.
I bring Hudson (therapy dog) in every week to see the residents. I am and Hudson are always greeted with a smile form staff and residents. I enjoy my visits and residents enjoy meeting Hudson.
I am a regular visitor to a friend and take her out to regular events as well as occassional special outings and medical appointments. Staff are always very welcoming and I am always invited to join in events + activities. The only problem is if we return after office hours there is a long wait to be let in or for me to be let out after visiting.
My mum is a resident at Sycamore Grove and at first we were apprehensive but I can honestly say this was quickly put to rest. The staff are wonderful, very caring + treat the residents with great respect & dignity. The home is clean & the food is great. Family & friends are always made to feel very welcome. I would recommend this home to anyone. The management team are also wonderful & need to be congratulated on a brilliant home & its staff.
Every time I arrive I am given a cheerful welcome which comes through to all the members of staff I meet. The care and concern given to residents is excellent and the friend I visit has definitely benefitted from this cheerful + sociable environment. The management is efficient and smart, and keen to build a relationship with residents and visitors. There always seems to be something going on to involve and entertain residents, with excellent organised activities and events. The rooms are comfortable and attractive and my friend has definitely improved since he came in and is well nourished too thanks to the cook!
I enjoyed my recent respite stay and was impressed with the standard of care. All the staff were friendly and competent and I felt safe and confident in their hands. The food was excellent and I appreciated the menu options.
My father has been a resident for just over one year. During this time, he has regained his zest for life. He has gained 4 stone in weight, from 10 to 14 stone, due to the wonderful food and care he has received. As a registered nurse myself, I feel that the care and the attitude of the staff are amazing. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a safe and loving environment.
Mum stayed for respite care following a hip replacement in March. Whilst looking for somewhere suitable, my main criteria was somewhere she didn't want to leave. Once I had visited Barchester Sycamore Grove Care Home, there was no debate at all. Sycamore Grove ticked all my boxes and more (I had a fair few!) Her room and facilities were wonderful. She was looked after incredibly well by all the staff. She loved engaging in conversation with them all, as did they, and having a few laughs together. And playing April Fool's tricks! The food was lovely. Well varied, with good choices and beautifully presented. The whole team engage with the residents. It is more a five-star hotel than a care home. The daily activities are amazing. This is so important for the well-being of the residents. Mum and I often chat about her time spent there. She has already booked (in her mind) her next stay for when she has the other hip done. Who knew that requiring respite could be so much fun? Thank you to all the staff involved in Mum's stay with you.
Excellent, five-star care at Barchester Sycamore Grove Care Home. My stay for respite care began 17th-24th May 2024. I tried, in my mind, to find fault but I could not find one issue to contend with. A welcoming and helpful receptionist, then the bistro, a communal space, with coffee and tea facilities, fresh fruit and also, an activities centre. All the care staff are attentive and truly care for elderly residents. A big tick for management - the peace and quiet throughout the night. No slamming of fire doors and flashing lights every two hours, distressing the residents. A carer sits throughout the night, listens at doors and offers a cup of tea if residents are awake. Well done everybody. So I do recommend Sycamore Grove to others. Not forgotten - thank you chef and your helpful staff.
The treatment I received for my two-week stay was wonderful. Everyone was so very kind, caring and helpful. I would recommend anyone to stay there. The food was excellent also.
As a full-time care for my wife, I had to undergo major surgery and picked your care home to look after her. I could not have made a better choice to know she was looked after so well by the staff, was a huge weight off my mind. Will not hesitate to use your company again.
This is a marvellous place. It is beautifully furnished and equipped and the staff are all so very warm, friendly and helpful. One of the best things about it is the range of activities you provide for the residents - my mum loved bread making, the magician, tea parties, the card evenings, Christmas Fayre, theatre and shopping trips, arts and crafts to name just a few. We love the fabulous bistro/ coffee lounge where residents, relatives and guests can meet, enjoy delicious homemade cakes and fresh coffee together. It’s more like a first-class hotel than a care home, except you also provide a very well-trained and willing staff who are always on hand to support and care for everyone’s every need. I can’t recommend you highly enough. For us, your place is simply the best in Eastbourne.
It's always a pleasure to visit my mum. The staff/carers are friendly and knowledgeable and any health issues have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. The general atmosphere is cheerful and there are plenty of activities to keep the residents amused. Having had lunch there, I can recommend the quality of the food - a very good chef! My only criticism is that the bistro area, although like everywhere is beautifully furnished, there are not enough tables and chairs - the sofas could go.
I feel all my needs are met, my room is very comfortable, everywhere is exceptionally clean and tidy, all the staff are very friendly and helpful and everything I ask for is provided.
I can't speak highly enough of all the staff and the facilities. My father has first-class care and attention and anything he asks for is provided. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It is always a pleasure to visit.
I love living in Barchester Sycamore Grove Care Home. The staff are so friendly and helpful in every way. The place is just like living in a five-star hotel, I could not have wished for a better place to spend my remaining years than here It would be a job to find fault in any way and my wife and I love living here. The admin staff go out of their way to help overcome any problems. The meals are adequate and if you want more you only have to ask. The place is a perfect place to retire to.
My husband and I could not have come to a better care home. Our stay is very happy, the carers are helpful and the love we get is excellent. Love them dearly. Would give 20 out of 10 any day.
