View Full Details of Middleton Lodge Care Home - Avery HealthcareI am very grateful to all the staff at Middleton Lodge for the care they have given to my mother. They provide world class care and enthusiasm ably led by the manager of the home. The staff are engaging and continue to encourage my mother on a daily basis. Accommodation is excellent as is the food. Staff are extremely welcoming to family members. The manager has been a previous healthcare professional and this is reflected on the high standards of care.
My experience of respite care was generally really positive, especially as I arrived from hospital around 5:00pm on a Friday evening. There were so many issues - a) Due due to my medical condition I needed a special diet, it took several days before I could explain this to the chef. I was concerned until when I was making a fuss b) over my 2nd weekend, my strong pain relief almost ran out and I had to manage with paracetamol which was far less effective. An oversight had led to it not having been reordered earlier. The activities, the friendly yet professional staff, and the opportunity for privacy if I wanted it we welcoming. The hospitality was good.
The whole team works as one to provide care for both the resident, the family and residents friends. The building, carefully thought out design, complete with luxurious soft furnishings and cleanliness is an equally match with a 5* hotel. The wide corridors which is a must with the variety of transport vehicles available today and is spotlessly clean and safe. A quiet lounge is easily found as there are so many to choose from, and the garden room is our favourite. The main focus is to ensure that new residents settle into a change of circumstance with as much help as required from the Manager, one of the Activities Coordinator and, the Administrator. The laundry system works well and is well manage. The activities are designed to have fun, laugh and inclusive for all. There is no divide between the floors and when accompanied, the beautiful gardens are available. They are quiet, sheltered with a variety of seating despite only being open a couple of years, they look mature.
Our mother moved into Middleton Lodge Care Home in June, 2025, and we couldn't be more pleased with the decision. We chose the Lodge not only for its superb location in Littleover Village but also because of the warm and welcoming atmosphere we felt the moment we walked through the door. The staff radiate kindness and compassion, creating a genuine sense of care that flows through the plush carpeted hallways and beautifully decorated lounge areas. It's clear that the team truly enjoy their work and interact with residents respectfully and warmly. The weekly activities on offer are both varied and engaging, including a gardening club, bell-ringing demonstrations, and even building projects. These activities focus on encouraging social interaction, learning, and togetherness. The Lodge has far exceeded our expectations, providing a caring, engaging, and vibrant community where our mother feels safe, valued, and most important - at home.
Mum has been living at Middleton Lodge since November 2023 (18 months). The home itself is just as beautiful as the day she moved in and is maintained to an excellent standard. The lounges, libraries, restaurants are all beautifully appointed with luxurious soft furnishings. Public rooms and hallways are carefully themed, which promotes great conversation and memories. The staff are the heart of this home. Every member of the team from carers to kitchen staff, from reception to house keeping, carry the same work ethic - placing the individual at the centre of everything they do. Exceptional people, who always find time to share quality moments with their residents. Activity and Wellness play a huge part of daily life at Middleton. Residents can do as much or as little as they choose; something for everyone. The variation of activities and events is extensive. You only have to browse the Facebook page to see how much goes on. A personal highlight was the Mother's Day Tea Party.
Having to put my father into care was a difficult thing to do and from the first communication, the staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. My father has received exceptional care in a beautiful home where he has been treated with respect, dignity and kindness. This is an amazing place that is led very well. As I say to my father, 'I'd like a few weeks stay here!'
My mum was admitted to Middleton Lodge from hospital. When I first went to see the care home I was pleasantly surprised just how nice it was. It's like walking into a hotel. My mum is now receiving the 24 hour care she needs and I can honestly say all the staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble. I was anxious wondering how mum would settle but she has settled in well and really enjoys the food. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
Things get lost fastly even when dropped to staff. Sometimes room isn't clean when we visit.
The environment, rooms and facilities are 5 star quality. The Staff are pleasant, polite and friendly. My Dad has settled in really well and is enjoying the activities and socialising. He particularly enjoys the food which looks appetising. The home is spacious, flat and well thought out, also tastefully decorated, with a lovely garden. Dad's health, appetite and wellbeing have improved since he moved in
I have really enjoyed my stay here.
Excellent accommodation would recommend it a lovely place to stay with, very good staff.
Whilst my mother was living at Middleton Lodge, she was really well looked after. The staff were so kind and sensitive to her needs. Her room was of a generous size and nicely decorated. All the staff worked hard but were also pleasant and caring.
The care my grandmother receives at Middleton Lodge is excellent. All the staff who work there, including the care team, housekeepers, activity coordinators etc are all extremely friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to ensure the residents are happy and safe and receiving the best care possible. The facilities are always very clean and tidy with lovely spacious bedrooms for the residents and nice common areas for them.
I've been living here at Middleton since April 2024 and I can truly say I have no regrets about choosing this care home. The staff do their best to give the place a nice/friendly atmosphere. Finding things for us to take part in must be a challenge, as everybody's tastes are different. Consistency that Middleton is only about 10 months old, the staff have provided us with quite a variety of activities to try. The food on offer hasn't always pleased all residents but the new chef is already looking good. We are looked after very well by the staff dealing with our medicines. I think anyone who chooses to live here will not be disappointed.
Mum has been a resident at Middleton Lodge for just over a year. After a very stressful start, Mum is now settled in her new home. The care home is beautifully furnished, always clean and the rooms are very spacious. The staff are absolutely wonderful - from a friendly greeting at reception/updates from the lovely staff, kind, approachable and down-to-earth manager - we couldn't ask for more! Mum rarely participates in activities but the lovely "Pink Ladies" are always organising wonderful things for the residents to take part in - they even had an "early doors" New Year's Eve party, which, to my delight, Mum actually attended and she was the happiest I have seen her in a very, very long time. Mum isn't a big eater and tends to sleep a lot (sometimes missing regular meal times) but the staff will ensure that she has something to eat anytime, day or night. I am confident that Mum is safe and being carefully looked after and we know we can visit at any time. Thank you.
I came to live at Middleton Lodge Care Home in March 2024. I am very happy here, I have made some lovely friends from both residents and staff. Most of the time I feel I am on holiday in a five star hotel. All the staff are caring and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. There are lots of interests catered for so you can be busy or quiet as you choose. Your health and well being are well looked after.
My husband has been in Middleton Lodge for nearly a year. From not walking, no communication and not being able to eat properly, moving forward to December, he is walking slowly, eating well and most days very happy. He has severe Vascular Dementia. But this home is like a big hug, the staff are very caring, lovely place. He has also visited the mini Christmas Fair in the home in December.
Generally good but noisy atmosphere in dining room. Excellent cooking, but food is often cold. Service is sometimes slow.
Always brilliant. 10 out of 10.
I wish to thank all of the care staff, especially the three carers who looked after me when I had a fall and waited six and a half hours for the ambulance to arrive. I can highly recommend your care home to anyone needing respite.
