Horsforth Manor is like stepping into a happy home! Everyone is happy to see you, residents are clearly well looked after and are happy and always aware of what is going on in and around the home. You are made to feel so welcome, and nothing is too much trouble

As a daughter of a mum living with Alzheimer's, choosing a care home was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. The care, diligence, and compassion shown by the staff here has been exemplary. They treat my mum with patience, dignity, and genuine kindness, always seeing her as a person rather
than a condition.
The staff are not just friends, but they are pivotal to how I function day to day. Knowing my mum is safe, understood, and cared for allows me to be her daughter again, not someone consumed by constant worry. Their support gives me peace of mind and emotional space in an otherwise heartbreaking journey.
Because of their dedication, I am able to spend precious, meaningful moments with my mum - moments I will treasure forever. I will always be deeply grateful for the professionalism, empathy, and humanity shown every day.

Absolutely outstanding-and then some. From entertainer to family very quickly. The warmth and welcome me & my daughter received were incredible. The staff are simply amazing. Going above and beyond in everything they do, and it truly shows. The activity coordinators excel in their roles and provide
some of the most outstanding, creative, and meaningful activities I have ever come across in a care home. Family members are exceptionally well supported-not only by the staff, but by other families too-and this is a direct result of how open, inclusive, and friendly the home has been made. I cannot write this review without mentioning the woman who oversees every inch of this home: Tee. Having worked in many care homes over the years, I can honestly say I have never met a manager who pours her whole heart and so much of her time into ensuring a home runs to the highest standards every second of every day. Horsforth Manor is truly special, and it sets the bar incredibly high.

I really can't fault Horsforth Manor, my Grandma has been a resident there for over 18 months. She is very well looked after and entertained daily by the numerous organised activities. When we take her out she always wants to go back sooner than planned to the comfort and security of 'her home'.
The Manager and the wider team are so engaging, caring and friendly have we as a family have formed a close bond with both the team and other residents.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Horsforth Manor to anyone and have a few times already.
19 January 2026
My grandfather absolutely loves it here. He says that all the staff are wonderful and that he feels safe, happy and secure. The staff are also very good at communicating if anything changes with Grandad and he has become much happier here than he was at his own home. A care home that I would (and
do) recommend to anybody.
19 January 2026
After two months, I can honestly say how impressed I am with every aspect of this home. From the moment my mum arrived, the staff have been nothing short of incredible - kind, patient, professional and genuinely caring. It's clear they don't just do a job; they truly care about the residents as
individuals.
The range of activities on offer is fantastic and thoughtfully planned, giving residents plenty of opportunities to stay engaged, social and stimulated. The home itself is beautiful - it feels far more like a luxury hotel than a care home, with lovely surroundings that make it a pleasure to visit.
Most importantly, I've seen a spark in my mum that I haven't seen for years. She seems happier, more settled and more like herself again, which means everything to our family. Knowing she is safe, cared for and genuinely happy has given us enormous peace of mind. I couldn't recommend Horsforth Manor highly enough

My mum moved to Horsforth Manor in September 2025 and she is so happy as am I. Everything is amazing - the standard of care, the food, the activities, the housekeeping etc. You walk in and the atmosphere grips you as it's busy with residents all doing things with staff and there's lots of laughter
and chat. You are never ever on your own unless you want to be. Residents are continously stimulated with activities morning and afternoon and several of the families are invited to join in. Whether it's coffee mornings with cakes, singers, dancing or just playing dominoes there is so much to do. During December there were also trips out to the garden centres and meals out. New Year's Eve saw an Abba Tribute with loads of singing and dancing followed by a fabulous buffet. The food at Horsforth Manor is excellent and my mum can't wait for lunch and tea every day. My mum is safe and secure and I have total peace of mind. Everyone is totally devoted and all they do is with a smile.

The staff are exceptional in the care of my Mum with regards to all matters of her mental and physical care at Horsforth Manor. Always going the extra mile and for me as I live in Australia and am visiting now including me and I feel so reassured Mum is living here safe and stimulated by the
amazing activities run by these friendly and caring staff. This really is a beautiful place and the food is fantastic , the management are very efficient with their communication and the creative flair is wonderful. I cannot fault this place or recommend it enough. The morning teas are delightful and inclusive and I love the quizzes. I cannot believe my Mum is playing football and love how many friends she has made and how chatty she has become since she has been living here. She really enjoys going on the outings on the minibus trips and I love seeing the photos on the social media pages. Thank you to all the cadets, caters, activity staff, nurse, managers, receptionists, laundry staff etc.

Horsforth Manor and all its staff without exception continue to exceed my expectations!
The care and consideration given to my mother and from what I've seen and heard about is second to none.
All the activities are thoughtfully arranged and are so varied there is something to suit everyone.
It
is a joy to visit with a fabulous atmosphere, it's like one big happy family!
My mother is very comfortable and feels safe and loves being there, which I have to confess I wasn't expecting!
It's a tribute to all the staff from the manager Tee who is incredible to all her amazing colleagues.
Thank you.

We are so grateful to the team at Horsforth Manor for the care they give my mum and the wonderful welcome and care her family and other visitors receive too. Mum has settled there and they have taken the time to get to know her and keep her settled and ensure she has the best quality of life
possible. The activities there which include all residents and their loved ones are incredible. We are so happy we found this wonderful place for Mum.

Mum has lived at HM for over a year now and the improvement in her health and wellbeing compared to struggling on with independent living is remarkable. The team take such good care of her in all aspects. The home itself is beautiful, clean, modern but cosy and welcoming. It is a pleasure to visit
and sit with mum in the lounge or bar which feel like an upmarket hotel. The activities planning is very impressive, there is something on every day and there is lots of community involvement including local schools. Mum is on the Residential floor and we have been so impressed with the care manager's proactiveness and attention to detail. There is so much good stuff to say but in summary, would recommend 100%

Horforth Manor is a luxury care home! It is turished to a 5 star standard, the attention to detail is excellent, and it is kept beautifully clean and welcoming.
The most exceptional and important aspect of Horsforth Manor are the staff who work there. They are amazing, creating such a lovely
atmosphere for both residents and visitors, organising innovative and stimulating activities and always with a bounce in their step and a smile.

We all enjoyed a wonderful Willy Wonka Birthday Tea Party. Everything was perfect from the table decorations, the food and the lovely staff. Absolutely fantastic and enjoyed by young and old. Thank you.

A big thank you to everyone. This is an excellent home. Fantastic care. Great upbeat atmosphere. The team managed within weeks to move my mum forward to a place she has not been for nearly 2 years, showering regularly, out and colouring her hair, reading the newspaper, engaging in conversation, and
welcoming visitors to my home. Amazing and evidence of the huge commitment and effort of everyone.

Following 64 years of a wonderful marriage, and observed my wife's decline into dementia. I was in a position to obtain a suitable care home for her to be cared for in a suitable and loving manner, with excellent facilities, which I have in Horsforth Manor Care Home. The home, management & staff are
simply the best. I have total peace of mind & freedom from worry or anxiety.

Mum moved to the Dementia floor (Haven) at Horsforth Manor in February 2024, and hand on heart I can say she had the best year. The staff understood her needs from the outset. They provided her with a healthy routine, brilliant care, good food, a great mix of activities and most of all friendship.
She was soon much less anxious, her mood and memory improved dramatically. I can't believe how quickly she settled.
There is a fantastic amount of weekly and themed activities to join in with, and family and friends are encouraged to support the events and made very welcomed. An Advent Calendar of events this Christmas certainly gave us lots of lovely memories. So much thought and effort was put in by the whole team.
When mum got poorly the staff couldn't do enough to support her and the family. Having been encouraged to discuss her end of life wishes, before she became poorly, it became a fundamental part of the care she received and for that I can't thank the team enough.

My mother-in law moved into Horsforth Manor Care Home a few weeks ago, and we are so pleased at the difference this has made to her life. We have nothing but praise for the staff at the home who have made her so welcome. The staff are hard working, organised, caring and proactive. They pay attention
to the small details, which mean so much to an elderly resident. The staff make time to chat to the residents and really get to know them.
An outstanding feature of Horsforth Manor, is the programme of daily activities. Every day, residents are encouraged to join in fun activities and games such as bingo, quizes, art classes and local walks, which encourage stimulation, exercise, laughter and friendship. Over Christmas and during the weeks since then, there have been numerous social occasions and events for residents and their families to enjoy, and the weekly coffee morning is a highlight for many.

Horsforth Manor is more than a care home; it is a family. From the luxurious, elegant décor to the warm, compassionate staff, everything exudes care. My mum moved there in February 2024, and despite her dementia, the staff's dedication helped her settle. They patiently nurtured her, encouraging her
to participate in activities such as trips out, meals, Elvis singalongs, dancing, coffee mornings, and pub nights. Families are always welcome, creating a strong community. They made amazing afternoon teas for Mum to enjoy with friends. Sadly, Mum passed away in February 2025. During that difficult time, the staff were our rock, providing exceptional care for Mum and support for us, so we could be with her during her final days. From the cleaning team to management, everyone showed genuine love and compassion. Choosing Horsforth Manor was one of our best decisions. They enriched Mum's life and gave us peace of mind. I highly recommend them-they're a shining example of compassionate care.

My aunt was a fee paying resident at Horsforth Manor Care Home from October 2023 to April 2024. Initially she was situated on the first floor which seemed to be designated for residents with early dementia who did not require too much assistance. Unfortunately, there were no other residents on this
floor at that time and she was isolated apart from at mealtimes and the odd activity. She was moved to the top floor and was able to spend time amongst other residents which was better for her, but she required less care than most of them and was often neglected in terms of staff not ensuring she changed her clothing daily and showered. On several occasions there were no staff in the communal room on her floor. Most staff were very competent and caring but some were belligerent when issues were raised and one was downright insolent, I reported her twice but never received an apology. I wrote to the owners of the home with a catalogue of complaints but they didn't have the decency to reply.
31 January 2025
I have been visiting the home to see a friend of mine who's a resident for a while. The care that's provided, staff members and the facilities are great. The entertainment for the residents is something I've never seen before within a residential home, spirits are high and its nice to see the smiles
on the residents faces. Always greeted and positivity when you walk through the door. Keep up the great work.
