View Full Details of Claremont Manor Care HomeClaremont Manor provided the best possible end of life care for my mum. The site, room and facilities were immaculate and beautiful and the staff were unfailingly kind and patient with the size of family and number of visitors. Mum was treated as a much-loved individual, not just any old patient, and she felt confident in the care she was receiving. We could not have asked fir anything more in those final precious weeks of mum's life.
Our mother moved to Claremont from Torbay Hospital, following an unexpected and devastating terminal diagnosis, which also rendered her paralysed. She was resident at Claremont for just under a month before passing away and we could not have hoped for a better place for her to spend those final weeks. The facilities, staff and care were exceptional, not just for our mother, but for all of us. We are an extremely large family and Mum had many visitors throughout her stay as she came to the end of her life. We were all treated with kindness and understanding as we navigated the remaining time we had with her. And the care for Mum from all the staff, which we witnessed first hand, was full of compassion, dignity, professionalism and understanding. At a truly tragic and traumatic time for her and all of us, Claremont provided the ideal environment for her and us to say our goodbyes. We would all like to thank them very much indeed.
Exceptional care for my mother in the last 4 weeks of her life. Every member of staff in all capacities was kind, polite, caring. Claremont Manor was literally a life changer for us all. As a family, we were cared for, given space to be with Mum and we were all supported throughout a difficult time. We feel so lucky that Mum could be cared for in such a wonderful place, so close to where she lived and where many of the wider family are located. Sadly, she was unable to enjoy Claremont for very long, but she was so well looked after and treated with the utmost dignity and courtesy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Simply amazing home. Staff are all wonderful, facilities amazing. My entire family (roughly the size of a small village, there will be over 70 of us at my Mother's funeral) all thought the home was great and made a very difficult time for us much more bearable.
My sister was resident for four weeks for end of life care. I couldn't fault the home in any way. All the staff I encountered were efficient, professional, caring, supportive, respectful and caring. The home was always clean, quiet, tidy and welcoming.
Claremont Manor was the ideal placement for what turned out to be my father's last few months. All aspects were outstanding, but we were especially appreciative of the care and sensitivity with which he was treated during his final 48 hours.
Mum was discharged from hospital to Claremont Manor, having to move from her previous care home as it didn't offer nursing care. It was not easy for her to make this change but the staff and management at Claremont made this as easy as possible and were so welcoming. Mum's health deteriorated quite quickly and she passed away after being at Claremont for only 3 weeks but the carers and nurses were very good. The end of life care Mum received was outstanding - the deputy manager and manager were quick to put the necessary care steps in place and personally came regularly to make sure Mum was comfortable and that we, the family, were ok. They looked after us as well as Mum, making a spare room available so we could stay close to Mum overnight and even allowing our dogs (well-behaved ones!) to be in the room over Mum's last few days. We felt so supported at this difficult time. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.
Morning, I just needed to say a big thank you to you all but especially the dementia ambassador for making my daughter and son-in-law's wedding day so special, and enabling my husband to be part of it. There was a strong reason why I fought so hard to get my husband into Claremont and yesterday just typified why. You are all amazing. If there is such a thing in your group, the dementia ambassador should be awarded employee of the month.
The care and attention that my father and our entire family received was second to none. Everyone at Claremont Manor went 'Beyond the Call of Duty.' During his last year my father needed more and more nursing care which the home was more than able to provide. They could administer all his medication and the doctor on call was so kind too. Claremount Manor's facilities are state of the art, the meals were delicious - we often ate with him - and they had a purpose built Art Deco cinema which being a retired film editor and director, he loved. We were always kept in the loop and the monthly time table of activities and events was sent to us. My father particularly loved the visiting Alpacas and tiny horses. We are so grateful for the dedication of the staff and the friendliness and help from the two ladies (with the same name) and from the manager, who couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. I would recommend Claremount Manor to anyone. It is an outstanding care and nursing home!
A sincere thank you to everyone at Claremont Manor for creating such a warm, welcoming, calm, happy and friendly home. Professionally I have visited lots of Nursing and Care Homes over the last 30years and I can honestly say that Claremont Manor really stands out and is above and beyond any others I have visited or worked within. It's not only the environment, which is outstanding with all the little touches - fresh flowers, freshly made cakes and delicious food etc, but really importantly the staff make it such a pleasure to visit. All of the staff deserve a big thank you and a special mention. From the lovely receptionist - so welcoming and helpful. To all the nurses, activity, care and support staff who are always so helpful, kind, warm with a fun sense of humour thrown in! We knew this transition from independent living to a Care Home would be difficult for our parents - but are amazed at how they have settled. They are so appreciative of being looked after so well. Thank you.
I cannot thank the Manager and all the staff at Claremont Manor for everything they have done to make my sister and brother-in-law welcome and feel at home. Moving into a care home was a huge transition for them but it has all gone smoothly and the staff are extremely caring and willing to listen. The home itself is spacious, clean, welcoming and the food is excellent. Our whole family have been made to feel ;part of the family' and I have nothing but good things to say. Thank you.
My husband is being very well looked after, and I would have no hesitation recommending the Claremont Manor Care Home.
My grandad has been in Claremont Manor since November. We have always been so welcome as a family. Every member of the team is incredibly caring and compassionate. They always take the time to chat to us, provide updates and show genuine kindness - not just to my grandad but us as a family. The home itself is amazing, clean, comfortable and thoughtfully run. He is very happy, settled and safe at Claremont, and he regularly compliments how well he is looked after. Seeing him so content and well cared for gives us great peace of mind. We can't thank the team at Claremont enough for all they do.
I maintained Power of Attorney for one resident and was a close friend/support for their partner who became a short term resident for end of life care. Thus, my experience of Claremont was for several times a week over approximately 9 months and the friendliness and assistance afforded by the front desk staff on every visit was indicative of all that was to follow. The Care taken in settling both in was welcomed immensely and the openness with which residents needs, desires, wants and even complaints were elicited and handled indicated to me a confident and very professional establishment. Management Staff were active in the daily support and care for residents also and the manner of general care/support staff was personable, professional and essentially empathetic. In difficult circumstances for both friends, staff maintained a compassionate persona at all times and all infused with no little humour along the way. Thank you all.
I always find staff helpful and cheerful. The whole home is spotlessly clean. I know my Aunt is well looked after here.
Always most welcoming. We really do feel at home here ourselves. Caring for Dementia patients is difficult for all of us & we feel to be part of the team. We are kept well informed & feel well supported when our visits to our loved ones have proved a bit distressing.
My review of Claremont Manor has been very satisfactory. The staff are very caring and cheerful. The residents are encouraged to be engaged on different projects but are not pushed if they do not require to do so. All food is 'home' cooked and there is always of choice. Everyone is treated with the utmost dignity. I would definitely recommend to others.
I would like to thank the staff at Claremont Manor, my partner passed away in the early hours on Tuesday morning, her family was by her side and myself, it's possibly the hardest thing I've done. The staff were outstanding, and a big thanks go to the night girls. It's been a terrible time for the family and me, but with understanding staff made things a little easier. God bless the manager and all the staff.
The Claremont Manor team have been really helpful and friendly. They gave my mum and other residents personal Christmas presents which shows a level of individual care. The food is excellent and the atmosphere over Christmas with all the events was amazing. As a daughter who has a close relationship with her mum, I couldn't recommend anywhere better. Thank you!
Claremont Manor is a home built especially for the needs of older people and people in need of care. It was refreshing to see the quality of the design that made life easier for service users, their visitors and of course staff. My parent moved into the home and it immediately felt like they were being well cared for both physically and mentally. Staff at the home went above and beyond to make sure some of the visitors who have disabilities were able to visit and were comfortable in their visit. My parent was able to take part and experience the wide range of activities that take place at Claremont Manor, important in making them feel part of a community at the home. The kindness, sensitivity and professionalism of the staff is outstanding.
