Our experience of Stoneham Grove was nothing but outstanding.
From our first enquiry ; to the home visit ; to the welcome ; to the fabulous, loving care given, all was first class.
The team genuinely care for their residents and go the extra mile to ensure their needs are met.
My Father enjoyed
nine weeks respite care and we would not hesitate for him to return to Stoneham Grove for further respite or permanent care should the need arise.

My wife has Alzheimer's and has been for several respite stays at Stoneham Grove, the last in April 2026. She has been very happy and well looked after there. The staff have always been polite and welcoming to both of us. They also understand her needs and recognise her from previous visits.

A high quality home backing onto woods and a nature reserve. The home itself is only just over a year old and reminds me of a high standard hotel. However, it is the staff who make the real difference. They make time to chat with and care for residents and their visitors. They are friendly and
nothing is too much trouble. Food is prepared and cooked on the premises and caters for a wide variety of tastes. There are usually 3 forms of entertainment per day ranging from simple playing of particular styles of music in one of the beautiful lounges to days out. It is an accepted fact that the cost to live in care homes are high and whilst this may be on the higher side locally, I am assured by a friend who works in these environments that it offers so much more and better facilities for the residents. All rooms have en suite, a large TV, a comfortable bed and chairs. So glad I put my Dad here. I know he is well cared for, safe and warm.

I travelled from America with my mum to visit my nan here and I have to say this place is wonderful. From the pleasant staff to the facility itself, this place has everything for my Nan.
I couldn't of asked for anything better for her and I know she will have the best quality of life here.

By the time a dexision has to be made on behalf of a loved one and choosing a carehome, a family has already been through a heart wrenching process. Stoneham Grove - starting wtih Jodie, took away all fear. It was evident that the wealth of experience with every single member of staff has created a
warm and welcoming home. This is one big family. The residents and staff live and work in harmony. We, as a family are extremely grateful for a perfect setting for our Mum.

Staff always very friendly and happy. Food excellent on the occasions we have spent having a meal with our Auntie. Coffee/tea and cake when visiting superb.

My mum has been a resident here since the end of October, and we have been extremely happy with the care she receives. The staff are kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, which gives our family great peace of mind.
The food is excellent, with a fantastic choice of dishes available daily, and
residents are also invited to discuss upcoming menu changes with the chef. Mum is a very sociable person and she is enjoying the wide range of activities available, organised by the wonderful Luliana, from baking club, visits from the local pre-school, flower arranging, pamper sessions, chair exercises, trips to the garden centre, performances by musical acts all helping residents to stay engaged, active, and socially connected.
The home itself is beautiful, well maintained, and welcoming, creating a comfortable and homely environment. Overall, we feel very fortunate to have found such a supportive and caring home for my mum and would highly recommend it to others.

We chose Stoneham Grove for our mum following several visits .
We were always made to feel welcome by all the staff and the ambassadors.
Following a period of respite it was decided that our mum would be very well cared for here.
Any settling in issues raised by the family have been addressed and
changes put in place to help our mum and us feel confident she will be happy here for the rest of her life .
She is so much better here than having care at home . The enrichment is superb .
She has started eating better which has had a positive effect on her wellbeing .
The carers are respectful and kind as are everyone we have come into contact with .
This home is more like a 5 star hotel.
We are looking forward to the spring where we can take our mum for strolls around the lovely garden.

Disappointing.
Obviously opened before all staff were ready.
Food extremely poor.

I had a nice welcome but the overall experience was disappointing. I sometimes had to wait an hour after ordering breakfast for it to arrive. The evening meal was VERY small & cooked pastry really hard. The staff on the whole were kind & caring. The laundry service seemed a shambles. It would have
been nice to have been taken outside in the garden.

Our father entered stoneham grove in July of this year. the staff and management team were warm and welcoming from the very start, including when my sister & I were first searching for a home. Unfortunately, due to the breakdown in our father's marriage we had to remove him so we could stave the
flow of his finances until we sort out the issues. He enjoyed his stat considerably and we would only consider stoneham if he needs to go back into a home. Thank you

Although this is a beautiful home in excellent surroundings, the overall care is deplorable. After waiting over 5 minutes to be let in and finding my friend had hardly any of his clothes returned from the wash my estimation of this home went decidedly downhill.
There is a serious shortage of care
staff for the amount of residents and the staff who do work there are overworked to the limit.
The activities person Luliana is brilliant but so stressed with lack of help especially with bringing the residents to the room of activities when there is a member of staff off sick or on holiday. For the amount of money the residents pay to live here surely it would be beneficial to bring in 'bank staff' at those times of staff shortage.
The chef is excellent. The manager I find really unhelpful and rude.

When I first began looking for a care home for my Mum, I didn't think I would find one that would meet all of my expectations. Three months later Mum is at this idyllic beautiful care home, resembling a five star hotel. Every single member of staff here goes above and beyond to look after Mum's
every need. Mum's friends are able to come here for coffee and cake in these beautiful grounds. There is a weekly activity sheet where you can easily find something for everyone, myself included. The food is excellent and always looks extremely appetising, and if Mum wants something simple, nothing is too much trouble. When you walk into Stoneham Grove you are met with a really warm and friendly atmosphere. Residents laughing, chatting and having coffee together without a care in the world. I can then leave knowing Mum is being well looked after by this wonderful hardworking team that treat her like family. They even encourage me to bring my scallywag of a dog.

My dad moved to Stoneham Grove after nearly 3 years in another care home. He's now nearer to us which makes visiting much easier. He has dementia which is worsening.
The pre, during and after care and attention has been excellent. Staff genuinely care about each individual there, encouraging and
supporting them in their daily living. Dad is stimulated by lots of the activities, and very comfortable in a luxurious room with its own patio. If I ever need to speak to the staff, they are always available to listen. They have ensured that Dad's transition from one home to another went smoothly and very well. Stoneham Grove cares about relatives as well as residents. I am very happy that my dad lives in such a lovely environment, with lovely people.

After a fall which resulted in broken bones in both legs, my mother was not able to return home.
The staff at Stoneham Grove went to great lengths to expedite her assessment and arrival at the home.
All the staff were excellent and really cared for mum and ensured that her every need was met.
My
brother and I regularly commented that we might move in.
Mum has now returned home and if she needs more care in the future, for either recovery or more permanent care, this home will be at the top of our list.

Mum is very happy and settled in Stoneham Grove, due in no small part to the kind, caring, friendly and efficient staff. It was a difficult decision for her to become a permanent resident but one she hasn't regretted. Her room is comfortable with a seating area outside looking out to Sulham Woods.
Mum enjoys the food and many of the activities on offer. I very much enjoy the delicious cake which is always available! The Manager is very approachable and helpful - I would recommend Stoneham Grove.

Very pleased with room, facilities and particularly the staff who were all very pleasant and helpful.
We will certainly use again when the circumstances arrive.
Every effort is made to include residents in activities at which ever level they wish.

It was a difficult family decision for my Gran to move into a care facility. Stoneham Grove is local to me and fabulous. My Gran is stimulated, well fed and above all, well looked after. The staff all know their residents and have all put my mind at ease. The activities timetable is fantastic. Day
trips are regular and well enjoyed. The grounds are beautiful, as is the 'cafe' in the orangery where you can help yourself to tea, coffee, squash and cake. I really appreciate how present and contactable the management team are. I would (and do!) recommend Stoneham Grove to anyone who is looking for a care home for themselves or a relative.

My father is now a permanent resident at Stoneham Grove after an initial two week respite stay.we were so impressed with every aspect of this care home. Being such a difficult and emotional decision to make, it was important that dad has the best care we could find for him, and Stoneham Grove
ticked all of the boxes for us. Although a fairly new resident, dad has settled in so well and already feels at home. Every member of staff I have dealt with has been friendly and approachable, kind, compassionate and helpful . Although dad is in a care home, it feels like I'm leaving him in a five star hotel which offers peace of mind to the family. It is a very pleasant place for the visitors as well as dad. Also I have been kept well informed of all of the activities, trips and facilities on offer. I am honestly sleeping better , knowing my dad's welfare is a priority. So glad that we found this care home!
29 May 2025
Stoneham Grove is simply the best. The care every resident gets is second to none. All the staff know every resident and engages them in all activities. Nothing is ever too much trouble. There is something to do for everyone. Our friend really enjoyed her respite care and said quite rightly - it is
like a 5 star hotel. She has already booked her next respite with a view to stay permanently.
