View Full Details of Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionWhen I came to that life changing moment with my Mum, of her needing the care offered by a professional Care Home, I was so grateful to find the amazing staff and facilities at Southampton Manor. Over the last two months, Mum has benefitted so much from the expert nursing care given on the Reminiscence level and is settled, comfortable and safe. Living alongside others was a big step for my Mum and all the staff have made it their mission to get to know her as a treasured individual, showing the kindness and respect which is such a hallmark of the community throughout the home. At the beginning, everything was totally new to me and at Southampton Manor I found a group of people who listened and helped, and are still just so happy to offer ideas and support whatever their role is within this beautiful home. It is a pleasure to visit and be included in the life of this beautiful place.
The decision to move a beloved mum to a care home is a tough one - but over a period of 6 months the Client Liaison Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home could not have been more helpful with queries, addressing concerns and implementation. Mum has settled in really well after 6 months and loves her new routine with exciting daily activities, superb food and delightful staff all round. Nothing is too much trouble for staff and the community spirit is always in evidence. Thank you.
I have been visiting this care home now for over a year. I find everybody I meet friendly and nice, there are always great entertainment and always something to do. It is very clean and all the staff are great.
This is relating to the last few months of end of life care for my mother, which has had the most impact. My mother has been treated with the upmost care, dignity and compassion from every member of the community who have supported her, also to myself. I have been visiting for 14 years and have always felt welcomed at home. I am truly overwhelmed and humbled by the love, tenderness and support we shared together in my mum's last hours. Thank you.
I am amazed at the kindness, and the care given to me. I will return.
The carers on Reminiscence floor went out of their way to take all the residents 3 floors down into the garden to enjoy ice cream in the sun as there was a wasps nests on the top floor balcony. It was hard work for them but they were cheerful and enthusiastic (as always). One resident stated "well hasn't this been a lovely afternoon" I understand they have repeated this a number of times while the weather has been sunny. They are a wonderful bunch of staff on Reminiscence.
My Mum has recently moved from her previous care home to Southampton Manor Care Home as she now needs nursing care and has dementia. Right from my first meeting with the staff at Southampton Manor I have been very impressed with their professionalism and kindness. As the weeks have passed the care shown to my Mum by the whole team of staff who look after dementia patients has been excellent. They have done their very best to make her feel welcome, safe and very well looked after. I thoroughly recommend them.
Mum was a resident at Southampton Manor for about 18 months until she passed away last month. I cannot recommend the home enough. The vast majority of the staff are very welcoming and kind. It's definitely the most welcoming care home I've visited. Even since Mum died, they've gone above and beyond to assist us.
Everything has been done to help my Godmother and my mother feel at home and valued in this care home. The whole team from catering to caregivers are welcoming and make my loved ones feel safe and happy. I can't recommend it enough.
My Mother lived her for over 5 years, in assisted care and then reminiscence floor. The home is very lovely but more importantly the staff here really care about the residents. They treat them with kindness and dignity. They get to know each resident as an individual, finding out what makes them happy so they can talk to them about all the things that interest them and their past - they do everything they can to make it feel like home for them. In the many years that I have visited Mum they have all been kindness itself to me and the family. Sadly my Mother passed away very recently after being ill for about 4 weeks. The care and love they gave her was exceptional, they looked after her so well nothing was too much trouble. They really loved her and she really loved them - we couldn't have asked for more. Through this very sad and distressing time they supported us too, we too received support sympathy and love. Thank you all so much you made a very difficult time easier to bear.
My mother entered the care home in poor health in 2019 but as a result of the excellent care she was given lived until 2025, nearly 104 years old. Actions speak louder than words.
The atmosphere in the home is friendly and courteous. One concern, however, is missing laundry. Meals vary in quality. Excellent fish and chips, but not good baked fish. Puddings always seem to be good. The above comments are based on my very limited experience of the home.
Dad moved into SM in March 23. He has a lovely garden room. Since his arrival, he has always been treated with dignity, respect and kindness. The staff are so supportive and welcoming when we visit. We three daughters feel totally that we are part of the team supporting Dad's needs. We have nothing but praise for the entire set-up, the team and the facilities. Dad is so lucky to be at Southampton Manor. We could not be happier that Dad calls SM his home.
My wife was discharged from hospital to Southampton Manor, with Alzheimer's disease and terminal cancer. She was not expected to live longer than a few weeks. From the moment of her arrival she was treated with great professionalism and loving care. Her problems made her, at times, a difficult resident, but the staff showed great consideration and patience in looking after her. I spent a lot of time visiting her, and the staff always showed me very great kindness when I was there. After five weeks she died peacefully, with friends and family around her. I am very grateful to Southampton Manor for making her final weeks as comfortable as possible, given the pain and confusion she was experiencing.
We chose Southampton Manor for my sister as it felt like a five star hotel with all the facilities provided and the meal options together with the self service Bistro for visitors to use when they visit their relatives. The staff are genuinely caring and do a fantastic job. They ensure the residents are looked after and are all called by their names. Every member of staff has a smile on their face and are welcoming. Telephone reception is always friendly and helpful as is the client liaison officer - all the staff are amazing. We feel we have provided the best care facility we can for my sister. Thank you.
My mum has only been at Southampton Manor Care Home for 2 months but has settled in so quickly. This is mainly due to the wonderful staff who have welcomed Mum with open arms and looked after her so well. Mum loves all the entertainment, especially the dancing and she said the food is fabulous. This is a very well run home and I got a good impression when I first visited for the initial morning in chat with the friendly manager who was so efficient and enabled such a smooth more. Thank you.
I consider the management to be first-class. The majority of the staff are helpful and very kind and I was grateful for their help.
After visiting other residential homes, my visit before respite at Southampton Manor Care Home was 100% better. After staying here for three weeks my initial thoughts were confirmed. The staff are incredible, so happy, friendly and helpful. The choice of meals was wonderful and delicious. If I didn't want what was on the menu I could ask for something else. The only downside was the wait for the food which I believe was because there was only one chef. I thoroughly enjoyed the activities and the organisers were great. The nurses and carers were only too happy to help. The management was so approachable and helpful. I will be recommending Southampton Manor Care Home to all my friends and family.
My mother has always received the best care.
A first-class residential care home! You get top-class personal service for your relative in the home. The staff are welcoming, very social and well trained. The facilities are truly outstanding. Cannot find a fault, how lucky we were to find this for Mum.
