I lost my son in 2019, who was a resident at another care home. His cause of death was choking as he was left unsupervised, which could have been avoided. So when my husband Patrick was transferred to this nursing home, I was very worried and anxious regarding his care. However, since admission to
Ravenscroft, I have been very happy with the care given to my husband. All the staff are very empathetic to his needs, and myself and the rest of my family. I feel very relieved that he is getting such good care, which gives me peace of mind.

I am very grateful to Mable and all her staff for keeping my father saf and well cared for. The nurses and newly qualified carers have so much compassion and are always pleasant and understanding. The handling techniques are safe, and the carers and nurses deal with any conflicts in a kind &
supportive manner. The care manager and the clinical (Judith) should be given extra recommendations of high quality care on a restrictive budget. I am also pleased that some nurses will be going on to become doctors.

There's a level of chaos in the nursing home that never seems to settle. It's not dangerous, but it's not calming either. Clothes and items always went missing. Stuff was always being moved around, and the carers didn't clear out his room much, so there'd just be piles of things at times in his
cupboards. Things would break, and it would take weeks to get changed. There are also cockroaches in the kitchen. The staff are overworked, and some of them do not speak English well, so they do not understand your instructions, or you end up spending a lot of time explaining things. Staff are overstretched, whilst the management team and staff are trying their best. There's a lack of resources. There are many things that need improvement, including accessibility outside the building. The rooms are a decent size, but I think the overall nursing home needs refurbishing, more resources and staff. However, I am grateful for their efforts to take care of my relative as he has severe needs.

I am very grateful to know that my husband is being looked after well. The staff is always very friendly and cheerful.
On special days like Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and easter, there is usually live music and a delicious lunch for family and friends. Those occasions are always very special,
and everyone enjoys the celebration, the music and the dancing! So thank you all for your help, care and kindness.

I like the place, staff, very nice manager, helpfull and carefull.
The only thing is bothering me is I always hast the cloth and changing the pention (2) times a day. I think this is not good enough for them and smells the rooms. Otherwise everythings are good.

The chef is brilliant. They come to ask what my father would like to eat and accommodate his needs, the staff are really caring and look after my father really well. Management is very helpful and always on hand to help.

We found staff to be very friendly and supportive. It is always very clean, and the residents seem to be looked after.
The food is prepared to good standard, and the overall hall is well maintained.

I have one big grumble. Please can you provide a handrail down your front drive.
Accessibility for the elderly and wheelchairs is difficult. The slope makes us feel very insecure.

Big thank you to the staff at Abbey Ravencroft Park! I have visited my friend and neighbour who is a resident several times and been delighted, each time I come, to see her so happy and cheerful.
The staff are most welcoming towards me. More importantly they are very warm, friendly and attentive to
my friend. I am not sure I saw any managers and I haven't seen the rooms or any activities so can't comment on these. Further, I am not the person who pays so can't comment on value for money.

Abbey Ravenscroft Park Nursing Home is a very pleasant and friendly and caring place. The staff in particular is very friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. Unfortunately its very far from where we live.

Lovely care hoe and some really nice staff. Especially some carers, they are so kind to my father who is a resident there. Problems I've had is communication from staff regarding medication changes and certain social work/palliative care meetings but this has got a bit better lately.

My wife arrived at the home approx 2 1/2 years ago and in that time was treated with the respect and care I would expect from a nursing home. Also when I or my family or her friends visited her we were all treated with kindness. I cannot praise the staff enough for the dedication shown to my wife in
this time, especially end of life care.

I can't say enough good things about Abbey Ravenscroft. Our father has been living there since February 2024 and we are incredibly grateful for the level of care and compassion the staff provides. The facility is clean and well maintained and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that residents
feel comfortable and supported. The caregivers are truly compassionate always taking the time to get to know each resident and their individual needs. The activities offered are diverse and engaging, helping Dad stay active both physically and mentally. What stands out most is the genuine warmth and kindness that surrounds the whole environment. It's clear that the staff is dedicated to making the residents feel like family. We have peace of mind knowing Das is in capable hands and I highly recommend Abbey Ravenscroft to anyone looking for a caring place for their loved ones.

The care team are hard working but there could be more of them! Due to necessary record keeping the staff/resident contact time is less than would be desired. A CQC review in 2024 has seen a significant improvement in both the decor and care provided. The newly hired manager is providing some
much-needed person-centric care leadership. My mother is happy and safe and with the new efforts in providing activities have seen her come out from her room with greater frequency. The food is improving too.

Staff are friendly, polite, competent, professional, patient and attentive. My brother has been treated with dignity and compassion throughout his stay, which has lasted several months and our visits to the home were always positive experiences.

The main lounge area has been made very pleasant, having been rearranged. The staff are kind and friendly. The garden looks good. My friend is comfortable and well cared for. They have various activities for stimulation.
