View Full Details of Devon Lodge Residential HomeDevon Lodge is a lovely and very caring home. The staff are kind and helpful. There are activities most days and my mum can take part is she wants to. The home is currently being re-decorated which make a real difference to the look and feel of the home. The staff do their very best to make the home feel like the residents home and take the time to ensure their happiness. The majority of staff have worked here for a few years and have formed bonds with the residents.
Lovely care home. All the staff are kind and polite. Mum has only been here just over a month and she is happy and content here which takes a load off our worries.
Very happy.
When I was looking for a home for my mother I had been recommended to Devon Lodge - the moment I rang I was warmed by the friendliness of the manager and when they came to see mum - that was my and mum's decision made - and from that moment we didn't look back - all the staff are WONDERFUL - caring, loving, thoughtful and professional - we could not of wished any more for my mother - HOME FROM HOME in every way - 1st class. A happy 3 years was spent here.
Day time staff excellent. However, the night time staff are not very helpful or friendly. Especially when needed to get up during the night. Long response time after buzzing staff. Food - puddings especially the puddings are repetitive.
Mum has been here for 4 happy years and is very well looked after. She enjoys joining in the plentiful activities and spending time with her fellow residents. Many of the staff have been here for several years, providing continuity of care. The staff are all caring and excellent, and there's always a real family atmosphere unlike other homes we have visited. Thank you Devon Lodge!!
Devon Lodge is a very homely residential care home. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Facilities are good. Very clean. Rooms are very nice. I searched hard to find a suitable care home for my aunt and was and am very happy with everything.
Devon Lodge is truly exceptional. The staff are warm and attentive - and go above and beyond to ensure every resident feels safe, valued and cared for. The environment is welcoming and homely. Activities are thoughtfully planned to keep residents engaged and happy, and communication with families is always open and reassuring. It's clear that the team is passionate about what they do, and it makes all the difference. We could not be more happy and we love spending time with Mum in Devon Lodge.
The staff at Devon Lodge are so kind to my elderly brother and try to get him involved in all sorts of things that are going on even though he now finds it hard to join in due to his condition. He always looks clean and neat when I visit which is usually once a week and the staff are always very welcoming to me. I know the food is very appetising as I have visited when it was lunchtime! All in all the whole atmosphere at the home is lovely. It's a proper home as far as I can see!!
Overall very satisfied but there is just one area that requires attention which has been raised and discussed. In the main, the staff are very good at keeping my mother safe and happy. The grounds are very well cared for. The increases in the fees is also always a concern.
I can fully relax knowing that Dad is being cared for 24/7 and is happy in his new environment. He likes to be in the public areas and garden during the day and interacts with far more people than he would living alone. The staff are very kind and inclusive. My family are always made very welcome when we visit.
My Mum has been at Devon Lodge for five and a half years now and we have always had a good relationship with the management and staff. Whilst it is regrettable that Mum's overall state-of-play has deteriorated considerably in the last 18 months or so (not due to Devon Lodge I hasten to add), it is clear that she remains well cared for, treated with dignity always, and a valued resident. I'm not really able to comment on things such as activities these days as this is now well outside of Mum's capabilities, being mainly bed-bound and almost uncommunicative, but I have seen at first hand the staff feeding her with great patience and compassion, and generally making sure that she is still included with things such as therapy animal visits. Communication with Devon Lodge has always been good, and they are good at making visiting family feel welcomed and looked after too. I have never had any regrets about making the choice on Mum's behalf of Devon Lodge, and they have never let us down.
So pleased how well my father-in-law has settled in at Devon Lodge after spending nearly 6 weeks in hospital. The staff have played a huge part in my father-in-law's recovery. When I visit, my father-in-law often comments how pleased he is with his new home. My wife and I attended the Christmas party at Devon Lodge on Sunday 22 December. The entertainment, food and staff were all excellent. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Devon Lodge.
I visit every other week my long term best friend. The staff are always very happy to ensure that my friend is aware of the visit. We are always treated to tea and biscuits and made verywelcome. The residents are very well looked after and all seem happy whenever or whatever they are doing. The staff always put themselves out for anyone but particularly the residents they ensure everyone is treated appropriately and with dignity.
We cannot rave enough about Devon Lodge. The home has a home-from-home feel and the staff are always so friendly. Mama is very happy here - great room with a bay window!
A very caring environment with helpful and dedicated staff. My mother is very happy and feels safe and secure and comfortable at Devon Lodge.
My sister is very well cared for. The kindness of the staff is exceptional. She is treated like a favourite aunt. My biggest concern is the increase in fees.
I find Devon Lodge to be a wonderful home-from-home environment for my mother-in-law. She is well cared for well fed and treated with kindness and respect. Activities offered keep her interested and her interests are supported.
My mum has been in the care of Devon Lodge for approx 2 years now. We have nothing but praise for the levels of care, activities, and spirit of community and nothing but admiration but praise and admiration for the staff that care for mum. 'Scores on the Doors' it's an 11 out of 10 for Devon Lodge. Thanks to all the staff from our family.
