View Full Details of Aughton ParkMum is very happy at Aughton Park; she has been there for nearly four years now. She talks highly of the staff for their kindness and the way they care for her an that nothing is too much trouble. She has a lovely room and really appreciates having her own phone and Sky TV, which make a big difference to her daily life. The small acts of thoughtfulness mean a lot-for example, when she drops something on the floor and staff pick it up for her. We her children are always made welcome by staff when we visit.
My mother has been at Aughton Park for almost 10 years, and seems content despite her dementia. The home is well maintained and always seems comfortable. The staff are professional and seem thorough, and know the residents well. When she has needed medical care or a hospital visit, that has been dealt with properly and the staff are good at communicating any needs she has. We typically visit unannounced and have never seen any matter of concern; the staff have done what they can to make our visits go well, even through meal-times. We're happy with the support from the staff team: they've stepped in to provide the care that we no longer could.
Aughton Park is a modern building with space for residents to wonder around and a secure garden area for when the weather is good. Some of the individual residents rooms and shared areas are looking rather shabby however they are gradually being renovated. The staff are generally very caring and courteous; although there does seem to be a lot of agency staff at weekends some of whom are not familiar with the individual residents or daily routines. The food seems to be reasonable and cooked on site, kept warm in a portable oven. Staff do their best to encourage/remind the residents to eat their food/drink There is a hairdresser available who takes good care of the residents appearance. The on-site laundry does a great job cleaning/ taking care of the residents clothes. The senior/management staff are responsive to queries.
It's a well run and kind atmosphere in this MHA care home. The staff are compassionate and thoughtful and the home a clean with good food. My Gran has been in there for years and is well cared for. I've a friend who travels from Liverpool area to visit his Mum and it's not in his doorstep.
My mother has been in Aughton Park for about 18 months and is exceptionally happy and well cared for there. I cannot praise the staff at every level highly enough. They are all patient, caring, compassionate and skilled in their work. Communication is excellent, they have always been ready to offer sound advice to us as a family when asked, and at all times I have felt my mother has been looked after to an exceptionally high standard. There are regular meetings for families where updates, discussions and constructive feedback are shared. As a family, we have also been able to attend events such as the Christmas and summer fayres, carol services and seasonal religious celebrations. Activities provided for residents are excellent, always appropriate to the resident group and often involving the local community. Aughton Park always impresses as a calm, positive, warmly welcoming setting and I am delighted my mother has been lucky enough to be cared for there.
My brother is happy in Aughton MHA. The staff are very caring and a big effort is made to provide activities for all to get involved in. My brother feels safe in the environment and he enjoys the food. I send my thanks to all the team.
My father was scheduled to go to Aufgton Park from home but unfortunately had a fall down stairs just before he was due to go there, and after 2 weeks in hospital his mobility was limited and he was very stressed. Aughton Park has been so good for him, and having started in a wheelchair he is now walking without a frame or aids, thanks to the support of the staff. The management and staff are exceptionally kind and caring from the most senior manager to the newest member of the team. There is so much patience and professionalism and he now looks far more cared for and is starting to settle and relax a little, as he knows heis safe and cared for. There are activities during the week, and the atmosphere is gentle caring and calm. I am so happy to have my Dad looked after in the way he deserves.
Attentive, caring and friendly staff who provide consistently high quality support for those in various stages of dementia in the specialist unit. Meals are of a high standard and, for those who struggle to eat, dedicated assistance is provided. Rooms are cosy and have an en suite wet room. The communal areas are of a good standard and the lounge is bright and spacious. There are plenty of activities for those who wish to participate and staff ensure that everyone gets the most out of their experience. Not a cheap option but delivers a first class service. I have every confidence that Aughton Park is absolutely the best place for my mother to be. She is happy, safe and well cared for.
At short notice, the Manager at Aughton Pauk arranged for me to receive respite care following surgery and a crisis. I was warmly welcomed with the standard of care excellent for my needs- respite- short stay -4 weeks. All aspects of my stay were excellent, staff helpful and appropriate for my changing needs as my condition improved. I would certainly recommend Aughton Park and will use them for respite or longer care if needed.
My mother has been at Aughton Park for 9 years. I cannot praise the staff enough, in particular the 2 senior members of staff and administration. The manager deserves praise. They have been at the home throughout my mother's stay, keeping her safe during the pandemic and often going far beyond what is required. The chaplain and his wife also do great work with the residents. I only hope the newly appointed business manager does not try to make too many changes and can maintain the wonderful staff that make this such a good home!
The carers are very kind and understanding of my husband's needs. They have a friendly approach to him and he appears to enjoy this. He is kept clean and also his room which is en suite. There are plenty of activities if he wishes to join these. The gardens are easily accessible so when the weather is nice we can walk around. He appears happy here which is a relief to me.
Generally, I feel that Aughton Park Care Home has been a good choice for Mum (resident since July 2021). I think it is very difficult to provide individual care to 50 residents. It did feel more personal when the Covid restrictions were in place as occupancy was 50 to 60%. The senior carers are fantastic. Communication on illnesses, incidents etc. are clear and timely. Access to public healthcare is far superior compared to someone living alone. The activity and chaplaincy team are excellent. Any concerns are attended to. The food offering does need improvement - to make it better suited to the frail and elderly. There does seem to be a lot of food wasted. As for cleanliness and laundry, I am very satisfied. The individual rooms are good (all with ensuite) and the communal lounges and dining rooms are well-appointed. Anyone looking for a care home in the area should ask for a viewing.
My mother seems to be very settled and happy at Aughton Park. She enjoys the company of other residents but is particularly appreciative of the regular activities which now seem much more settled and regular than they were perhaps 12 months ago. I think her contentment is quite dependent on the activities, whether that is a regular quiz or crossword or 'keep fit exercises', she seems quite happy to join in most things and it makes such a difference to her day. She has also mentioned that she enjoys the food and even insisted on staying for Christmas dinner this year, which was a first! Many thanks to the wonderful staff for their continued care and kindness.
A friendly, welcoming environment, well decorated (lovely over Christmas) and easy to make contact with when necessary. Care staff are generally attentive and know the residents well. One or two are especially good and the staff member (maintenance) is lovely too. My mum's Christmas tree battery failed recently and the activities co-ordinator found some spare lights so the tree remained lit which was important for my mum, little touches like this make all the difference. I'm not local so it's nice and reassuring to know that people go the extra mile when I'm not there.
We came to visit our aunt and were best impressed by the overall care and service offered at the home. The facilities are beautifully maintained and our aunt is very happy here. We met two members of staff on our first day of arrival. They served us food and drinks throughout the day.
Well laid out facility with ample sized lounge, rooms, restaurant and garden along with a friendly and caring atmosphere provided by a dedicated team of staff. Our mum has been a resident since November of 2019 and from regular visits we know that she is safe and cared for.
After making a difficult decision to find a care home for my sister, she has settled well. The carers, domestic staff and management are all extremely helpful and the surroundings are homely which helps residents to settle. The chaplain is extremely supportive of the residents and is available if the family want to have a chat.
As always my friend's care has been exceptional, the staff are kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. I am so glad that my friend is in Aughton Park she could not be in a better place.
In most respects, Aughton Park is a very good care home. It has a very pleasant ambience and the facilities are excellent compared to some others I have seen. The staff are generally very friendly but there are occasions when my mother feels she is treated without due dignity in interactions with staff, for example after calling for assistance during the night; sometimes a member of staff enters her room, asks a question and then turns their back and walks out without engaging with her and listening to what she has to say. There is a feeling that, sometimes, staff seem to be just 'going through the motions'. The quality of personal interaction could therefore be improved.
Aughton Park is an exceptional care home, they go above and beyond to meet my mum's needs, having worked in healthcare myself for over sixteen years I speak from experience as well when I say this is a truly outstanding home. The staff are wonderful, the atmosphere is always calm and peaceful and my mum feels completely safe and I rest completely easy knowing she is in their care. Cannot recommend highly enough.
