View Full Details of Sunnyview House Care HomeThis is the first time my husband has been for respite. I was worried how he could cope, but the staff, all of them, have been very kind and helpful and patient to him. His experience has been very good, and he has mixed with a lot of people.
Excellent facilities and very helpful staff. Bedrooms are very welcoming, plenty of space. First contact with customer services was excellent.
I spent 3 weeks in rehab care in your home. It was daunting since I'd always been independent until my hip operation. I was greeted by a family atmosphere and welcomed. Over the period of a few days, I blended into the rest of the residents. Taking part in the various activities available. I was impressed by the care and devotion of the staff; the entertainers inject a lively atmosphere for all patients. I left with a broader outlook on care homes. Hopefully, I will remain healthy, but good to know such places exist.
I found Sunnyview after mum's usual respite place was full. The staff there have been superb. From my first phone call with the lovely receptionist who showed me around (I can't remember her name) Sue who deals with finance was very friendly and answered all my questions as was David who came out to assess mum. She was in for two weeks and I had no issues am hoping I can get her back in for Christmas
Lovely atmosphere and super friendly carers. Nan loved it here and was always talking about the activities.
Made very welcome always - amazing care staff looking after my mother in law. Always smiles from the staff. Always happy residents. She was very happy here and had lots of friends in both other residents and the staff. She loved it here and we couldn't have wished more for her!!
Always made to feel welcome. Mum was well cared for and loved. She was kept clean and always treated with respect.
My mother has been resident in the care home for around seven months, and this time I have found the staff to be very caring, not only to my mother but also taking time to support family members when we needed a shoulder. The care home is a hive of activity, no matter what time you visit, with activities for the residents and staff continually cleaning or preparing meals, etc. My father stayed here before he passed, and because of his experience, there was only one place for my mother when she needed extra help.
The staff were all so kind, considerate & really took care of mum. She was treated as an individual and her needs were met. The living area was cosy & well kept and it suited her for the time she was there. It was only temporary for mum but I would have no reservations moving her back in if her needs changed.
Mum had a couple of weeks respite and it did her the world of good and we noticed a difference in a matter of days with her health and wellbeing, all the staff who assisted with her day to day needs treated her with respect, dignity and care. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her respite and was sad when it came to an end.
My dad has been a resident on the nursing level since January 2025 , I feel the care he receives from both the carers and the nurses is very good ,I visit every day but at different times of the day and I always find dad clean and well presented. I feel The management are always approachable and have dealt with any concerns I have had immediately. Dad doesn't join in with any activities but there is always things going on for residents as I pass through . Overall sunny view is a very friendly place and all the staff from reception, office , medical and management are very welcoming.
Our mum was in Sunnyveiw for 2.5 years. The care mum received was overall very good. If we raised any concerns they were addressed quickly. The staff are amazing on both Kirkstall and Carnegie floors. The new management does need improvement and more stability. Needs to listen to the staff more, and not make huge unessessary changes that affect the staff's wellbeing. the carers and other staff who care day to day for the residents are amazing and do not get the recognition that they deserve. A shout out to 13 members of staff. All amazing and looked after mum until she passed away in March 2025.
My mother is 93 years old and moved to Sunnyview House Care Home in September 2024. I anticipated problems with the move with my mother being anxious about the move. The move and my mothers adjustment to Sunnyview was nothing but great, the staff were great in preparing for the move and in making for a smooth settling in period. The last 5 months my mother has had nothing but good experiences, the staff has been extremely caring and gone out of their way to help her settle in. I would whole heartedly recommend Sunnyview to any potential residents.
It was my mother's Centenary birthday last week. The team at Sunnyview House not only threw an amazing party for her and the residents, they decorated a lounge so we could celebrate as a family with her in the morning. Members of staff who were on leave that day even came in especially to wish Mum Happy Birthday. What a special group of people they all are. The level of care my Mum receives in Sunnyview House is amazing. Personal, medical and social. As a family, we are made to feel so welcome. The home is always clean and fresh, the staff well presented and the atmosphere is calm and happy. At times mad too, the social occasions are terrific. The families are always invited. I cannot thank the management and staff enough. The Sunnyview House Care Home is aptly named Sunny, care and a feeling of home.
My nanna has been a resident since April and as a family, we are extremely grateful and pleased with the care my nanna has received, her health and mental health have improved and all the staff and management are so friendly and always happy to help. I highly recommend Sunnyview Care Home.
Generally very good. The staff are excellent, friendly and professional. If anything maybe more various activities would be good. All the staff are very respectful, helpful and courteous and the facilities are kept very clean.
The staff are very helpful and respond positively when I request anything. The attitude is friendly and welcoming and I feel comfortable with my mum's care. I like the activities that are offered and that everyone is encouraged to join in
I think Sunnyview House is a good care home overall, they provide a good quality of different activities (although sometimes I do think my grandma would be mortified if she knew what she was doing! Luckily she doesn't) and seems overall happy to participate when guided to take part. The staff are amazing on her floor, very cheerful, polite and do listen when problems have arisen and done their best to rectify them straight away. We have had a couple of issues with self-care (showering, brushing teeth) these seem to be okay at the moment.
My Mum is a resident at Sunnyview Care Home and has been for the past 4 years. She is very happy at the home and the staff are very attentive towards Mum. The staff are always polite and know all our family by our names and always say good morning and goodbye each time we go visit Mum.
I went to Sunnyview House Care Home to visit a friend residing there. I was warmly greeted at reception and taken to my friend's room. I needed to use the restroom and was promptly shown the way. My friend's room was lovely with neutral decor and spotlessly clean. I could instantly sense it was a place of fun and involvement for the residents. My friend certainly seems to be settled and content in her new surroundings.
