We cannot put into words the care we have all been shown by all staff members. xxx
My mom was end of life, but with love and care, she got better.
06 February 2026
My mother spent nearly 8 months at Halden Heights. She had complex health needs which required specialist nursing. We found the care to be consistent and good. The medically qualified nursing staff were extremely supportive - both for helping my mother settle in and keeping us, the family, up to
date and informed about her treatment. The carers were friendly and a number of them developed a real rapport with my mother - not easy as she was deaf. Against the odds the staff managed to coax and encourage my mother to sit in the residents' lounge each day - no mean feat as she was very frail and mainly bed-bound when she arrived. It's a challenging time when a family member needs to move into care, but the management and staff worked well to ease the transition for us all. We attended a number of the 'friends & family' activities that were put on for everyone to enjoy - it was lovely to see staff and residents getting involved in the entertainment. HH is a good and caring facility.

Joan was so well cared for at Halden Heights, she very quickly became friends with all the staff there, no matter what their role. She felt at home and loved. It was a great comfort to us to know Joan was being so well looked after. The rooms are clean, there was a good choice of food, and the
activities were fun and varied. We felt extremely welcome as family members too and always greeted with a friendly smile.

The place is clean and doesn't smell of urine or poop which is very common in some home care facilities. The well kept gardens are a refuge for mentally and physically able patients to relax and mingle.
The staff are very friendly and always ready to listen, not only to the patients concerns but to
the family members as well.
Patient care is excellent despite of personnel shortage at times. I hope that administration will be able to solve the staffing problem.
I don't know the inner workings but I can say that
The facility is like a well oiled machine that runs very smoothly.
Thank you to everyone.

I visited a friend at Halden Heights Nursing Home last year, and I must say I was very impressed. When you enter, you don't smell urine, which is often the first thing you notice in other nursing homes. I was also impressed with the very friendly staff. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a
nursing home.

During my visit, I found the home to be spotless and fresh-smelling. The staff greeted me with warm, friendly smiles. The residents were comfortably seated in the lounge, all dressed nicely. I spent most of the day there, and it was wonderful to see how much they enjoyed their activities. It truly
brightened my day to see elderly residents happy, engaged, and not just sitting alone in a corner waiting for family. Halden Heights truly feels like a caring family home

I was happy with the care and attention my partner received whilst living at Halden Heights for six months. The nurses were cheerful and smiled, and there was a good atmosphere in the home. It did not feel like an institution. Well done.

My wife. Jacqueline was admitted on the 22 October 2025 following a recomendation from the FraIlty Unit to be end of life with, vascular dementia.
The past two plus months has been a massive learning curve, having never visited a care home.
From the initial greeting to the present day, the staff,
collectively, have been exceptional, putting my mind at rest in the knowledge that she is in safe hands.
Attention to detail is most impressive and especially with daily updates, advising generically upon her responses, sadly having zero speech ability to communicate.
The senior carer is most impressive in her duty,. and all staff following her guidance and very welcoming.
It is dsiffuicult after 48 years of marriage, and togerther for approaching 54 years and sadly no longer together, but sadly she is where she neeed/has to be and my mind, although still coming to terms, it is comforting to know that she is geeting the right care and attention

The kitchen staff deserve special praise - the food is always fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. They make sure everyone's dietary needs and preferences are met with care and attention. You can tell they put love into every meal.
The cleaners do an amazing job as well. The home is always spotless, tidy, and fresh-smelling, creating such a pleasant, welcoming environment. It's clear that cleanliness and comfort are top priorities

My mother in law was a resident here for just over two years. The care she received in this time was outstanding. The whole team on floor 2 treated Doreen with care and kindness. You could see they all loved their residents. The staff were always on hand to help not only Doreen but her family too.
Giving us endless tea and coffee in her final hours with us. We were given privacy to grieve together. They made her look beautiful on her last day with us. A big heartfelt thank you from all of Doreen's family for the care, kindness and dignity you gave her during her time with you.

From the day Colin came into your care until he died, he was treated with dignity and kindness. He wasn't a very social person, but the staff managed to persuade him to join some of the events.
When visiting, the family received a warm welcome and loads of sympathy at the end.
Thank you so much
for your care towards the whole family.

During my wife's three and a half months at the home, she has been treated with dignity and compassion. The food is way above average restaurant and wonderfully presented on the plate. We cannot praise the home enough. The home manager leads by example; she has time for everyone. Thank you.

I stayed for 2 weeks to recuperate after hip surgery, as I live on my own. Everything worked really well, and I was able to spend the two weeks as I wished with all the support I needed from the staff.
I would recommend this to anyone in my situation who needed that form of support after surgery.

I arrived at Halden Heights having had a complete left hip replacement and was unable to walk. After excellent care, I have enjoyed walking in the garden (with crutches) and leave HH able to walk (almost without crutches). All the staff from top to bottom have cared for me and met all my needs with
a friendly, happy smile. I could not have been looked after better.

I recently spent two weeks in Halden Heights for respite care after an operation. The medical staff and carers were all very good. The lady who cleaned my room most days was very thorough and friendly. My main concern is about the food and its presentation. Very often, the food and drinks were
lukewarm. The crockery was haphazard. Sandwiches were served on saucers or pudding bowls - never on a plate. Drinks could be in anything from a mug, a cup or a china cup. Sometimes on a saucer and once on a plate. I think extra training is needed in that department. However, overall the experience was good.

From the moment we contacted the manager of Halden Heights, we felt that we were dealing with a caring and professional care home. Our father's needs were complex and all of staff worked very hard to keep him safe, comfortable and as happy as possible. They are full of positive energy, diligent and
will go the 'extra mile'. The expansive garden was a real benefit, given that our father loved being outdoors. We have no hesitation in recommending Halden Heights based on our experience. They have our respect & gratitude!
