My mother spent the last seven months of her life at Halden Heights. Without exception, every single member of staff demonstrated a level of dedication, compassion and professionalism that far exceeded my expectations. Their genuine kindness particularly during my mothers final week was an immense source of comfort to me. The standard of care was exceptional, and in my view should be regarded as a model for what a nursing home ought to be.

The on site management & staff are all wonderful - very friendly, attentive, patient & caring. Their patience with dementia patients is amazing as some patients are exasperating.
My partner needs 3:1 attention for his personal care, this is a challenge. But the staff have devised a solution. The ratio of 3 carers 1 nurse to 18 patients is sometimes stretched but on the whole just about works.

The building is in need of an internal facelift which has just started.

My mother has been in Halden Heights only a couple of weeks, but wow what a difference this has made, she is already eating + drinking more on her own, which she couldnt before. We thought she would be bedridden, but the staff have managed to get her into a moveable chair, which is so amazing she can now interact with the others, and its so lovely knowing she is being looked after well, she seems deffinately happier, thank you to all the staff.

My wife a resident for some approx 2 1/2 years has just passed away 22-05-26. I have the highest praise for the work and dedication that you and your staff have shown towards her care during this time. The efforts that you and your staff contributed exceeded my expectations i.e managers, carers, nurses, medical staff & all other supporting staff were guided by a most competent and professional site manager, Daisie, who maintained exceptional team spirit & work ethic.

Additionally I must mention the attention given to visitors & guests (compassion, courtesy & respect). Thank you.

My Father in Law was in the home for several weeks leading up to his death. The care that he received was fantastic, despite the challenges his condition posed, and we were able to feel that he was being cared for as well as we could hope for within the parameters of the home.
He was unable to leave his room, so didn't join in any activities, however we did see things going on, and the staff were always chatting to residents and making sure they were OK.
The cleanliness was to a high standard.
Communication was good, and the staff took on board our questions/requests and never made us feel that we were being annoying or an inconvenience.
Lifts and doors are all coded entry systems so that residents aren't able to let themselves in and out of the building.

Overall we would be very happy to recommend this care home, and are extremely grateful for the care they gave my Father in Law in his last few weeks, and the time they took to talk things through and explain things to us.

The decision to move my dear darling husband from our home, where he had wished to die, was the most difficult one of my life. But when I met the staff & saw the room with a beautiful view, I felt hopeful that this was the right thing to do. I was so thankful that they could take on all the nursing and caring responsibilities, enabling me to spend our last few weeks as husband & wife again. The respect and dignity, tender love & care all the staff, from nurses, carers to cleaners and laundry staff showed both to my husband, and me was truly exceptional. At Halden Heights, we were able to create positive final memories and to share our precious love until his final breath. I will be forever grateful to these beautiful people. Many, many thanks and all my love.

Our whole experience of Halden Heights was excellent.
We were particularly impressed with the kindness, care and diligence of the staff. We would not hesitate to recommend.
We were always offered hospitality when visiting dad - cups of tea - meals - and the staff always ensured we, as visitors, were made comfortable and could sit.
It was noticeable when passing through other areas of Halden Heights that the above attributes were not confined to Dad's floor. And as for the gardens - beautiful.

Overall assessment - excellent!

Halden Heights and the staff were not just a fantastic care home in looking after my dear dad, they were a family to us. I have never seen such care giving, time and love given ho it was given to us, at such a terrible, difficult time.

All of Dad's care needs were met, and any little needs or problems were rectified in minutes. We will never forget the love and care that was given to us both; it meant the absolute world to us.

Since our mum went to Halden Heights, the team have been absolutely amazing. Mum had memory & mobility problems, but she was always part of the activities & events. We were able to make mum's room like her old home, which was a great comfort to her.
All the staff have been so kind, caring and supportive, especially during mum's end of life care.

As a family, we would thoroughly recommend Halden Heights. Thanks again to all the team under Daisy's management.

My mother spent nearly 8 months at Halden Heights. She had complex health needs which required specialist nursing. We found the care to be consistent and good. The medically qualified nursing staff were extremely supportive - both for helping my mother settle in and keeping us, the family, up to date and informed about her treatment. The carers were friendly and a number of them developed a real rapport with my mother - not easy as she was deaf. Against the odds the staff managed to coax and encourage my mother to sit in the residents' lounge each day - no mean feat as she was very frail and mainly bed-bound when she arrived. It's a challenging time when a family member needs to move into care, but the management and staff worked well to ease the transition for us all. We attended a number of the 'friends & family' activities that were put on for everyone to enjoy - it was lovely to see staff and residents getting involved in the entertainment. HH is a good and caring facility.

Joan was so well cared for at Halden Heights, she very quickly became friends with all the staff there, no matter what their role. She felt at home and loved. It was a great comfort to us to know Joan was being so well looked after. The rooms are clean, there was a good choice of food, and the activities were fun and varied. We felt extremely welcome as family members too and always greeted with a friendly smile.

The place is clean and doesn't smell of urine or poop which is very common in some home care facilities. The well kept gardens are a refuge for mentally and physically able patients to relax and mingle.
The staff are very friendly and always ready to listen, not only to the patients concerns but to the family members as well.
Patient care is excellent despite of personnel shortage at times. I hope that administration will be able to solve the staffing problem.
I don't know the inner workings but I can say that
The facility is like a well oiled machine that runs very smoothly.

Thank you to everyone.

During my visit, I found the home to be spotless and fresh-smelling. The staff greeted me with warm, friendly smiles. The residents were comfortably seated in the lounge, all dressed nicely. I spent most of the day there, and it was wonderful to see how much they enjoyed their activities. It truly brightened my day to see elderly residents happy, engaged, and not just sitting alone in a corner waiting for family. Halden Heights truly feels like a caring family home
